After updating from Hercules 8500LE to Sapphire 9600XT, the game crashes if it's run normally. The game works fine in safe mode, but it's quite slow. According to the game's manual, " - - Safe Mode places Flight Simulator 2004 in a Software Video Rendering mode that is independent of the video hardware and its drivers." Hi,reading the Water post made me think... some time ago I replaced my Geforce 3 with ATI 9600XT. I've been happy ever after, although there are some stutters now and then and slow texture drawing at times.So, how do I go with removing old nVidia graphic card drivers leftovers when I have an nforce 2 motherboard? A bit off topic. My wife's computer and mine are both connected through a LAN hub, one connection of which is a DSL. This has the private IP of 10.0.0.1; this IP is used in both computers as the "Default Gateway" address in the LAN connection / TCP-IP properties (both run WinXP home). It's a very basic system that I built myself.Both computers see each other (ping command), both can access our LAN printer and files can be shared OK. Just changed from an ATI 9800 Pro 128 to the NVidia GT256. My "Water" in FS9 doesn't have the same realism or movement as it had with the ATI card. My water effects are up all the way. This is water that was enhanced by Bill Lyons and others. I loved the look when I had the ATI. Is there a way to bring back the animation and the look with the NVidia card?

I did everything by the book, uninstalled 4.8 (all components), rebooted, verified there was no ATI stuff left, then installed newly downloaded 4.9 (I downloaded CC 4.9 with the driver). Rebooted. Everything went fine but when I click on the CC it tells me I have no driver installed. When I check under Control Panel/Add Remove - the driver is there. I was trying to "repair", repeated the whole sequence again - to no avail. I finally uninstalled 4.9 and installed the previous 4.8 which went just fine. First some background...(bare with me, this really is a prop pitch problem)I've been flying The Beech Baron 58 in MSFS2004 with a CH Products Flight Sim yoke for a couple of weeks now. Even with elevator sensitivity turned down all the way, good pitch control is very difficult. The slightest movement front or back results in a large change in pitch (immediate 500-1000fpm at cruse speed). Couple that with plastic on plastic friction making it difficult to find the "center" makes holding altitude in turns very hard (Trimmed for level flight, you think you're "centered" going into the turn but are actually slightly forward or back. I currently run FS9 on a 19" ViewSonic A90 and even though I am pleased with its performance, I have been considering "upgrading" to a 17" LCD for several reasons: takes up less space, uses less electricity, runs cooler. After loading the new Cat 4.9s drivers with their newly designed "Control" center, when ever I now start the computer, I have to click on my "Login" icon. I think this might be due to the MS NET 1.1 that has to be installed for the drivers/control center to work. Has anyone else experienced this same problem and are there any work-around / fixs other than to un-install MS NET 1.1?Terry

I am in the market for a new fan/heatsink for my P4/3.08 (533fsb) processor. I have an OEM Intel cooler on it now, and when flightsimming or Battlefield 1942'ing, the thing seems louder than a Cessna doing a run-up in your front yard. Hi,Could anyone please help me with this problem.The texture on the ground is big areas with no textures, this does not happen all over, but can suddenly appear in some areas. It can be both sea and land areas. If it is land, the base color is usually different shades of green(only one color in one area) and sea is blue. Tried very much with no success. Changed settings in FS2004 and tried one other thing I found in the forum-----------------------------The problem is FS2004 requires much more memory than FS2002 then throwing on top this aircraft you need all the memory you can get. Hi,Bought "new" Radeon 9800SE card today and loaded latest drivers. All OK - smoother I suppose - but not much in way of increased framerates (about 20-25 for PMDG B1900 at Phoenix with sliders about 3/4 and Chris Willis' clouds installed. Not too much difference from my old Nvidia TI 4600. I'm using 1600 x 1200 and 32 bit textures.
