should i or shouldn't i? will it make a difference? i have a 2.4 gig amd processor, 128 nvidea card, 512 megs of ram. i'm running FS9 in default mode at 800x600, to cut out some choppiness. it's still a bit choppy at times like when using real world weather or some of the themes and when landing at a large airport. am thinking about running out and getting a 3 gig amd processor right now if it would help. i think i'm ok with the other stuff mentioned but thought the 3 gig amd chip might let me run FS9 at a higher resolution and cut out the choppiness. please let me know what you think. thanks, william

Hi folks,Having recently upgraded my system, I ran into trouble with conflicts between the MBoard and the sound card so I took the sound card out and am running with the MBoard built in sound. (No problems - it's pretty good)All in all, no problem but now I con't plug in my trusty MS Sidewinder FFB (the first version) to fly with :-( (It has the old 15pin D connector).I'm reluctant to buy another soundcard because I'm really only after plugging my joystick in and getting more conflicts would break my heart (let alone my wallet !). So, this strikes me as the opportunity to upgrade the joystick (actually it provides me with an exceelent excuse to get a new joystick passed t…

In case anyone was wondering as I was this morning if the upgrade would be worth it, well in my opinion it is. Especially if you do not have a top notch CPU nor tops in graphic gear. Also the prices are not that high, as long as you dont buy the Audigy2 ZS Platinum, all those whistles are overkill IMHO.It has eliminated the audio stutters and seems to have added fps to the flight (due most likely to a release of CPU demand)I have a P4-2.4 with 1G and an FX5200allen

I am trying to figure out how to fix flashing menus when using FSAA in FS2004 using my PNY 6800 Ultra. I'm using the official 61.77 Nvidia drivers. When I disable FSAA then I don't get flashing. I'm using one power cable from the power supply with the splitter to the 2 molex connectors on the video card. Should I use a second power cable for the second molex connector instead of the splitter. My power supply is a 431 watt Enermax.

For those of you like myself with older nVidia GPU's (I have a GeForce 2 with 32 megs onboard), if you open up your AGP Apeture to the largest setting (mine was 256 MB) in your BIOS setup, you will be amazed at the graphic results.I was getting blurred textures, and non-complete fuselage texture loads until I did so. It seems that FS9 needs at least 256 MB of graphic-reserved memory to display properly.Just my observation.Celeron 1.5GeFORCE 2 (32 MB)Soundblaster LIVE!Abit BX motherboard

I am now unable to print any flight plan created in FS9. I never had this problem in the past. My printer is working well, and I am able to print other areas of FS9 such as the help topics. My problem seems to have begun when I tried to print an FS9 flight plan while I was running my 737NG (PMDG) sim software.Any ideas or help would be most appreciated. Would reloading the FS9 cfg file help? Thanks.Stanner

Hello!I'm going to change all my system soon, and I have doubts about what VC I have to buy. Which are the best video cards for FS2004? In principle, I want to adquire the ATI radeon 9800 PRO 256, but I'd like to know how it works in FS2004? Is it a good VC? Is it reliable? Does exist any other VC better than that? I don't want to take a risk so I request orientation about this subject.Bests,David.

Hello all! I have been looking around your forum for quite awhile now as I have been wanting to upgrade some components of my computer. I got a Athlon XP 3200+ Barton with a new Shuttle mobo and 512mb of Kingston PC3200 in the dual channel config. I fired it up the first time and things were flying right along even with my Radeon 7500LE. That was a month ago. Over that time, I have noticed things started to slow down. Part of it was my defrag, and I think part was SP2 (don't quote me on that). So I fixed both and things picked back up... a little. In my optimism (and because there was a good sale) I bought a Radeon 9800Pro 128mb off the shelf yesterday. When I tr…

  22. Does the X800 pro (256M) require less power consumption than its lesser 9800 pro? I read that somewheres. I do not want to upgrade my PSU I already have a generic 450W, not as good as an Altec TruePower 430, but works fine so far.And would I get a better fps around airports? This is where I found the 9800 pro lacking, when it dipped to the lower teens and occasionally below 10. Elsewhere, it travelled fast at 35++ depending/...allen

I would love to have some realistic looking water but when I move my slider over to view them, one of three things happens. Very light blue, almost white water close to my aircraft in big squares, these adjust as I continue flying.(Land textures set to max land and water). Or, all the water is that light blue, almost white.(Land Only water at med.), and finally (land only, water at max)darn near everything blueish. I know that this is some sort of texture or video card issue, but to be honest havent really found a solution to this on the hardware posts.I am using:Biostar M7NCD mother boardAnthalon AMD XP 2400+ 2.0ghz processor512 MB ramRadeon 9200-128mb vid. cardsaitek…
