Just curious.... Been awhile since I really spent anytime tweaking setting and staring at the fps bit I came across something odd.The higher my vid card settings, the better performance Im getting.Example- Setting my nvidia card to high performance with all the optimizations I was avg 10-12 with everything cranked up. Kinda jerky with some slow reloads.Running KLAX/Simflyers/Asv/FSpassengers/FE/FShotfx/BEV/UT/and a few others.When I turn the nvidia settings to high quality which automatically turns all optimizations off, Im getting 15- 20 or so and alot smoother.Changing traffic settings or the amount of scenery detail and autogen has no effect either way.I have the feeli…

Hi folks!I have a slight problem with the Saitek X52 throttle.The engine N1 reaches 100% when the throttle is at about 70% up.If I push it up more, nothing happens.Is this a problem of FS, because I tryed reinstalling the drivers and software, but it didn't work.Anyone with the same problem?Any help would be more than much appreciated!Regards Nik

When I run some complicated stuff at the same time in FS9 the whole system would have around 50MB of free physical ram left and HD starts to work really hard. (I have 1GB of ram with AMD64 3200+ and 7800GT, My computer has FSGS tweak and FSautostart and anything that's not critical to system is shutoff when running FS9)Does that mean the system can use some more ram? When does windows actually start using virtual memory heavily? When the free physical memory is quote to quote at zero or when there is still a little bit left?I'm just wondering in my case, can I say "Oh it's definitely not the ram since I still have 50MB free physical ram left".Ideas appreciated.Jason Zh…

Just checking as I may need to do an upgrade before it releases. Something is going on with my FS9 and I need help figuring out what it might be. When I get to the FS9 screen as the program is loading, the mouse curser becomes very slow in movement and "shadows" itself. When the program is fully loaded, the mouse curser doesn't stay visible on the screen. In other words, it sort of disappears until I move it. Then I can see it again, but it just goes away until I move it again. I'm not sure if that makes sense or not, but it's not working right. I have received a new PC and wanted it to be the best there is as being a real world private pilot I wanted to practice my flying whilst having fun using FS9.1 but I don't seem to have gained that much by getting the best PC I could get. I have suddenly had a problem with my machine either hanging or rebooting on startup. It seems at the moment that I can get it to bootup eventually - after which it runs perfectly.The point at which it either hangs or the screen goes black and reboots is just after the screen comes up that asks me to select which account I want to boot into.Any ideas of how I can monitor the boot process to try to determine what is happening at that point?Thanks Barry

Hi-I'm going to be putting together a new computer after FSX is released and doing some forum reading.However, I will still have my old rig - a PIII 1.2 ghz Dell (XPST500). I've purchased a power adapter to enable me to put more powerful stuff (eg a video card) into it.So, I'm wondering - what types of stuff (if anything) can I do with two?I think the main thing I'd like to do is to separate the out-the-window view from the panel; I guess Project Magenta can do this, though I can't quite tell if I need a dedicated (hardware) radio stack. Hi - I broke out my old gamecard III automatic after prepping my old computer...Anyway, I have, as of now, just a CH Fighter Stick attached.The CH installation seems to go fine, and the joystick is recognized.However, when connected through the Game Card, there is no response; if I connect the stick through the sound card, it works fine, but that precludes me from using the hat/throttle/etc.Any advice appreciated!thxAndrew

Quite frequently when selecting an aircraft type or departure airfield I get an audible series of rapid clicks followed by a complete system crash. I have inhibited automatic system rebooting in order to try and get an error code but all I get is a blue screen. Is this a known problem and if so is there a fix. #### annoying as it takes soooooooo long to get back to the starting point again. It does only seem to do it on the first aircraft selection after starting the SIM program. Any selections after that seem fine. I have tried 2 video cards with the same result.ThanksSteve

Hi,In common with many folk following the FSGS experience I have 2 hardware profiles - Normal and Gaming.Ever since these were set up some two years ago I have noted a certain sluggish behaviour in Explorer operations while operating under the Gaming profile. By sluggish I mean it takes longer for folder trees and folder contents to be displayed than it does under my Normal hardware profile. The latter is always quite zippy and slick. However, under the Gaming profile and following the brief initial delay, once you have browsed a tree and folder contents associated with that tree, subsequent operations on that tree are much faster and more akin to the speed seen under my …

Hi all...I have another one of those graphics cards questions. I have an AMD 4200+ system with 1 gig kingston ram with a Geforce 6600 card. I want to upgradea my card and am torn between either getting the BFG 6600GT OC or spending another $240 for the BFG 6800GT OC. I am told the plain 6600 card is a real bottleneck for my system. How to set up a 2nd monitor? I know "how", in my catalyst CC, but I have seen couple of problems.Drop in framerates. A very big one, from 40fps down to 25. I tried putting an overhead panel from the PMDG 747 on the upper display and that's what I got. Even without overhead panel, I get low FPS. Any way of keeping the FPS, since on the 2nd display, I only need 2D. And is there a way that I set up the monitor ABOVE the main monitor? So that I don't have to go down or left with the mouse to access my 2nd monitor, but go actually UP where it's located???Help is appreciated!Word Not Allowed
