Hi,I've been running my 7800GTX card with nVIDIA 77.77 drivers for a long time. Later drivers have been giving me all sorts of trouble when I move undocked panels to my second monitor. Often CTD when returning to full screen mode.Today I downloaded nVIDIA 84.56 drivers from http://www.guru3d.com/ and they work allright for me :)Give them a try if you have had similar problems with the latest nVIDIA drivers.Ulf B

How many times have we heard the question "what FPS are you getting with your setup?" Or "my setup only gives me 14 fps." But there isn't a reliable benchmark for comparison. Is your aircraft at Childress, Texas using default scenery, or at Newark using payware? You get my drift. Is there a reliable benchmark that we gat get everyone to agree on? Does one exist already? I've heard people say "excellent framerates even at Seattle" but in my experience, there's even a big difference in Seattle depending on where your aircraft is and what direction it's facing.Even comments like "with AI traffic at 100%" don't mean much because traffic seems to start out low and build o…

Hi all,This is my 1st posting here and I'm looking for a video card which i never really had. At the moment I have a GForce 4 MX video card which really buggs me with some weather and sceneries on FS2004. I usually get an average of 12fps in normal weather and with heavy scneries and weather i almost go down to 8fps. While crusing i get around 25fps. Assunimg that I always look from inside the cockpit!!!My system is the following:AMD AthlonXP 2600+ 1.90Ghz512RAM 80GB HDI would like some advice on what video card to buy, is it true that the new video cards are very dipendant on the system which in my case will keep me to the same fps??? Really whish to solve this problem.R…

I have already posted this question in GoFlight's forum, but as there is very little activity over there, I am posting it here too:Has any owner of Wilco/Feelthere 737 PIC been able to use the MCP Pro with it? If so, what settings did you use?On my system, I could only use the MCP Pro knobs to set the display dials of Heading, altitude etc. But the buttons that start the AP, heading, Alt etc. do not work.J.J. Hello there,I'm looking for a bit of advice concerning a possible video card upgrade. I have a Dell Dimension 4700, with:- Pentium IV HT @ 3.4Ghz (800 FSB, 1 MB L2 Cache)- 1Gb RAM (Dual Channel, DDR, 400Mhz)- 2 x Maxtor 80Gb 7200RPM- ATI X800 SE 128MB DDR 425Mhz 350Mhz 8 pixel pipelinesWin XP Home SP2, FS 9.1, with a shitload of add-ons, like Active Sky, FDC, 100% Ultimate Traffic, lots of payware airports, the usual. Except for shadows and auto-gen, settings are pretty much all enabled/to the right. Looking good and the performance is pretty good too. At some airports, such at Simflyers CYYZ and ImagineSim KEWR, the frames go down, naturally, around 10 FPS. Somewhat …

Just wondering if anybody had any experience with the following hardware combination:Thrustmaster Elite Pedals (gameport connection)Gameport to USB converterLogitech Wingman Force 3D JoystickI'm wondering whether I can rig it all up together and get FS9 to recognize the rudder pedals rather than the joystick twist axis, or whether I'll have to revert to my old Saitek Cyborg (gameport) instead of the Wingman? I rather not lose the ForceFeedback, but I'm not happy with the rudder twist and I'd prefer to use the pedals. Oh yeah, and I'd rather not hand over $100 for new pedals either ;-)If anybody has successfully used a similar rig I'd appreciate any advice.AndrewK

I thought I had this problem solved. I own a Chaintech 6800 GT vid card. All of a sudden I get panels flashing on/off gauges dissappears and comes back. I'm useing Nvidia drivers 81.98. But it only starts when I load clouds.I emailed Nvidia about this and they felt for some reason it's not their problem or they're major concern is the 7800 card and your 6800 card is BS.Do anyone have this issue or figured thi out? Thanks for any adviceBill M

My ATI Radeon 9800 XT fan is shot, card overheats using FS9 and after 3-4 minutes, driver fails, screen freezes or goes black. Trying to find a new 9800 XT for my Dell Dimension 8300, but hard to do so. Would anyone have a suggestion of a comparable or better card replacement for my system? Thank you.GrantM

I've recently been having a problem where if I fly a 3+ hour flight, during the descent I will usually get a message saying that my computer has run out of available memory and to clear hard disk space. My computer has 1GB RAM and have 30GB of free space on the partition I have FS on so I don't understand the problem. The only other program I run during these flights is active sky 6. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!Computer specs:ASUS A8N-EAthlon 64 3500+ Venice1024MB RAMGeforce 6800GSSoundblaster Audigy GamerSeagate Barracuda 7200.8 250GBMarc Beck

So as you may know, I have a old Dell Dimension XPS T500, which was originally a PIII and has a processor upgrade to a Celeron 1.2. 384 megs of RAM. Original video Card was a Diamond Viper 770 ultra 32. (That's 32 megs..)I'd been running FS for years on this system... not great, but certainly acceptable. USA Roads is installed. So I've been looking into upgrading the video card for some time. Finally, a few days ago, I broke down and spend $150 on a BFG GeForce 6200 OC, which is a 256 meg card and supports DX9.After a flawless installation, all I can say (well, not really all I can say) is WOW. I have my system locked at 20, and while it often drops below that, that's essen…

I need your help, guys!I have just bought a new quite powerful rig (Athlon 4400+ with ATI X1800XL card). When on the ground at some airports I am experiencing strange looking flickering artifacts/spikes which extend from the ground/horizon and fill up part or sometimes the whole of the sky. They flicker for less than a second (that's why I cannot take a screenshot) and from what I could gather appear mainly but not exclusively at airports with detailed payware scenery and appear when I pan around in VC and spot view. The artifcats look like some sort of messed-up building and tree textures and flicker for maybe 1/10th of second. With my previous computer (a humble P4 2.6Mhz…

Would really appreciate quidance. My system is:Video accelerator: Radeon 9250 128MB (AGP with VGA,DVI and TV outlets)Windows 98SE (No service packs uploaded)MS FS 2004I attached a second monitor to the DVI output of this card. This is supposed to be a good configuration. {Control Panel}/{System}/{Device Manager}/{Display Adaptors} is duly showing both a Radeon 9250 and a Radeon 9250 secondary. My problem is that both monitors appear to be receiving identical output. When I click on the "1" on the monitor icon in {Control Panel}/{Display}/{Settings} I see a "1" on both monitors. Clicking on "2" has no effect and appears on neither monitor.I have ensured that both monitor…

Hello,Last week I bought the following system:HP/Compaq dc7600SPIV 3.0GHz with Hyper Threading1024MB RamNvidea Geforce 6200 128MBhttp://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF...f56-472277.htmlI installed FS2004 and was hoping for some good results. With as minimal system requirement of a P450Mhz system I figured I could max out most of the sliders. Not quite. The graphics are dissapointing. I get low resolution VC's and ground textures, even if I max out the sliders. Things like that. And when I max out the sliders framerates drop to 5-6fps occasionally. If I switch Anti-Aliasing on, it also gets very slow.I am thinking, a system like this should perform very well, what could…

I'm upgrading my PCI (yes, you read that right) video card. I tried the Nvidia 6200, but couldn't get it to work cleanly. Have ordered a PNY Nvidia 5500 with 128mb, but Amazon's been slow and I've been wondering if I should get the 3d Fuzion 5500 with 256mb. Have read in several places that 256mb is no better than 128mb on low-end cards. On the other hand, I'm starting to see FS9 add-ons that recommend 256mb on the video card.FS9 is the only game I play, so what do you think? One thing I like about the lower-memory PNY card: it doesn't need a fan and draws less juice. This a factor, since I've got TrackIR, and CH pedals and yoke drawing juice too.

Hi all,Since I installed Ultimate Terrain and Ground Environment on top of FS Global I find my 9800Pro is working very hard to keep the images sharp. Quite often I get the dreaded blurries and although they do eventually snap into focus it's not adding to the realism those products have given me.Would a AGP 6800XT 512Mb card be a good switch? It seems to come out well on Toms Hardware reviews. I would prefer a nVidia card as it will be more suited to Project Magenta when it becomes my no 2 machine when FSX comes out.Appreciate any opinions.

I've had to reinstall FS9 due to a system crash and everything is working fine EXCEPT that something seems wrong with the power to my aircraft. For instance, the default C172's RPM range is from a HIGH max power of 2000 rpm (just touching the top arc) and the bottom idle is 500 rpm. Would someone mind checking theirs (I know it's running higher) and let me know if you have any suggestions as to why and what I can do to correct this. Thanks.

I bit the bug at the end of last year and replaced my ageing Pentium 2.8 Ghz Nvidia FX5200 with a new self built rig whic is a Thermalite case and a system which is an ASUS A8N SLI Premium Mthboard with an AMD 4000 chip 2048MB Corsair Ram and an Asus 7800GT card a 74gb Raptor drive and a western Digital 150 GB second drive it all run with a 500w Seasonic PSU. When I originally installed fs2004 with all my addons (PMDG,LDS,Active Sky, Radar Contact, Fly Tampa etc) the sim was incredibly fast and very fluid. I was achieving 30fps + at a large airport with 50%Traffic etc... then suddenly I started to get slight micro stutters... very annoying especially if I was flying in VC…

Just trying to back into flt simming after 18 month absence. Lost everything in hurricane Ivan except cpu i took in car. Have new dell monitor with pass through usb posts, logitech s510 wireless keyboard/mouse, saitek x-45. all similar to previous stuff that all worked fine in past. NOW.. anywhere from 15 seconds to 15 min into a flight the view changes to VC and gear is lowered without any input from me. something is inserting keyboard commends to cause this to happen. I usually fly PMDG 737 but seems to happen with all aircraft.Has anyone ever seen anything similar? I'm stuckThanks,Dan Hayden
