Hi,First of all, let me start by saying that my PC is running as good as it's going to get, especially FS9. I'm also one that does not like to tinker around when there's no need to. Last week, a little icon pops onto my toolbar with the message "Support for WindowXP SP1 ends October 10, 2006". I've had this computer for almost 2 years now, and I keep all my software and drivers pretty much up to date, so I'm assuming that they're all SP2 compatable.Is this the time to upgrade, or should I just forget about it?Thanks in advance,Lawrie

Hello,I used a NEC FE991FE CRT Monitor for 3 years +, but a few month ago themonitor started causing problems. Anyway I decided to buy a ViewsonicVP930b 19" monitor last week. I haven't used it long enough to reach a verdict, also a mixed bag of satisfaction at this point. After I used the LCD a few days I had a off and on power outage, and now I see a message superimposed in the center of the screen that says: This computer is not authorized for use with this LCD display. Hello!While I am new to flight simulators, I can already tell that performance of the microsoft flight simulators is a popular issue. Thus far, I'm very disappointed with the performance of the simulator on my computer. I often deal with single digit frame rates and it becomes so choppy as I approach the ground during landing that it's not even fun.What's so shocking about my preformance issues is that the computer that I'm having the problems on would seem to be more than adequate to run the simulation. Hi,does anyone know what this really means at all please,The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Microsoft Flight Simulator 9.0 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. Hello all, I have for some time been unable to print out the flight plan on fs9. It used to be okay then suddenly zilch. My printer works fine in all other respects.I have recently changed my printer so it isn`t that. Anyone with any ideas? I am not au fait with fs9 configuration and don`t know where any printer operations are in any fs9 file. Any help gratefully received. Crasher

Well just an update, just recieved the new forceware 9x.xx series (not the beta that is out but the soon to be released version) With hopeful eyes i installed them, and fired up fs, well.. while the frames do seem to be more stable on my system, unfortunatly Nvidia has NOT listened to customer complaints about the AA/AF issue within our community, sofar with high AA/AF the "black box" issues still appears (6 and 7 series of cards).. sigh oh well what can you do when big boys dont listen.

Hello,I am facing a strange problem with my setup. It is something that I have had since day one and effects the entire system, not just FS:At random intervals the entire systems "holds" or "stutters" for a second or so. During this event:1. Everything stops. The mouse freezes, sounds starts to loop (pretty much like the sound you get from an audio CD that "sticks"), etc.2. Processor usage will jump to 100% (as indicated by the WinXP Task Manager application).3. After a second, it's back to normal. Processor load will get down to 1-2% (the normal OS footprint with no apps running) and so on. The system will not crash and everything is OK again, until the next occurence...…

But the graphics were bad so my brother bought me a nVidia GeForce 7300 GS (256mb, PCI-e), and although there are better cards, it runs the games much greater than my old ATI Radeon 9600. I've got a small LAN which was connected through a hub. On the port leading to the aDSL modem I had a hardware firewall (NetGear), which all seemed to work OK.Now we have wireless, and I've just installed a wireless router in place of the old hub. The router will not work when it sees the hardware firewall downstream on it's WAN port, it says there's another router and won't install. So, for now I've bypassed the hardware firewall and all is working well, including the wireless system to which connects a printer and a laptop (wife's work stuff).If I now have a "router", so I still need a "firewall" on the WAN port of the router? Hi all!The fan on my Asus 9800XT died, and I am looking for a replacement. I heard the ATI Silencer 3 from Artic Cooling is good, but they note on their website that the plugs they are using are not compatible with the Asus card.I also thought about a Zalman cooler, but I haven't decided which one. I thought they could also have problems with the Asus card and sent them an email, but got no response yet.Do any of you guys have installed a replacement cooler on the ASUS 9800XT card?Thanks

hi I am having a problem where there are infrequent times where the screen resilution ajustment tab will disappear as options as well as the 3D Video card settings that are avalible within FS FS will also fail to recognize my outboard video card , at present a new 7600 GS.This is not the first time i have had this issue, there were times when I was using my Radon 9600 PRO and it would behave the same way, the software that is. In the past if I tried, and I did this time, to reinstall, the driver for the card, it would remedy the issue, this time its being more fussy, not acknoleging the card, as it should.The only thing that i can see off the top, is re installing FS, …

Not too long ago, after pulling my old computer out of retirement, I got a slew of hard drive errors and finally a hard drive failure. It's an ATA hard drive.The machine is a Dell XPS T500 with the processor upgraded to a Tualatin 1.2 (Celeron) and 384 megs of ram; I'd just put a BFG GeForce 6200 OC into it (256 megs, AGP) which ROCKED!I had USA Roads installed and just tried running RWY 12 for some scenery design.. and BAM... until then, it was running really well, considering the age of the system.Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and someone sent me a 40gb ATA/IDE drive... but I can't seem to get the computer to recognize it, if it's even compatible!Any help greatly app…

Hi gurus!I just purchased my dream machine:Dell XPS 6003.8ghz2 GeForce 7800GTX's in SLI2G Ram320G HD.I wonder if anyone can tell me if FS9 can even use both my video cards or is that something to wait until FSX for?In spite of the blistering speed of this beast compared to the last one, I'm surprised that I'm not getting the incredible performance gain I expected. Hi EveryoneI have recently purchased a Nvidia A6600 TD AGP 256MB video card, on reading here and other forums on tweaking FS9. I read about changing the card settings to have the card run the settings and not the FS9.When I select these settings, my FS9 does weird things like crash to a black screen with only the mouse pointer visable, and the app still running. When I swtch to my FsNavigator the screen changes to 1/2 panel & 1/2 scenery.When I let the application control these settings, I don't have these issues, only some slowness.I am running the latest nvidia drivers.Anyone had this happen to them ???RegardsTony

I have read about the advantages of putting your page file on a seperate drive. At the moment, I have two internal drives in raid 0 and one external drive. Does anybody know what the result would be if I move it to my external usb drive?If that won't work, and I need to pick up another internal drive, does it need to be a 10000rpm drive or can I go with a 7200?
