I now got a Palit NVIDIA 6600GT 256M DDR3 AGP. How much difference would it do in FS9 if I replaced it with a1) CLUB3D GEFORCE 7600GT 256MB DDR3 DVI AGP ( http://www.dustinhome.se/pd_5010101072.aspx )or2) XFX GeForce 7900GS 450M 512MB GDDR3, AGP8X, 2xDVI-I/Tv-Out, 450/1320Mhz ( http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=343556 )Would it be in vane to get the more expensive 2) since I would be CPU limited and therefore not be able to use its potential? My systemAMD 64 3200+1 Gb 400 MHz RAMNVIDIA 6600GT 256M DDR3 AGPTwo IDE HDWin XP Home

I have an HDTV and an 8800 GT. I know that you can take out the 8800 GT from the computer and plug it into the TV. What happens/what can you do with the TV/Video Card when you do this?

Was using the usual cadre of add ons with FS9 plus PMDG 737, FDC, ActiveSky, ActiveCamera, etc and noticed peaks well over 25% 4 core use:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/185851.jpgDo you think this is an accurate assessment? I had FS9 on core 2&3, and add ons on core 1 using Set Affinity the handy freeware utility. I would have to say if whatever was driving that core use percentage were on a single core it would have to impact performance signficantly.QX9650 w/ Retail HSF|8GB Muskin PC-6400|ASUS P5E|EVGA 8800GT @700|Seagate SATA 2 x 4|Seagate Cheetah 15K.x|XP Pro|Vista 64--soon to be installed

Hi there...I have Microsoft Flight Sim 10 installed on my Gatewat laptop computer that has a Intel Centrino Duo 1.6 ghz processor and 2 gb of ram. I am considering purchasing the 747-400X add in and was wondering if it will run OK on this computer. I am wanting this add in to use as a FMC trainer and for systems review. I am a 400 pilot at UPS airlines and this looks like an ideal add in for practice. Also can I install this software on both my desktop and my laptoip computers with out any problems or would I need to purchase it twice? Thanks for any and all help.Rich Bucholtz

Been running the 163.44 since I built my system. No major problems, except that in windowed mode I have problems in DX9 with popup windows causing draw problems in the parent window underneath. I have to maximize and then return to fix, but sometimes it doesn't stick, especially in VC. full screen is OK. So I would like to fix this. I am also using nhancer 2.3.2. Are these 174.12 worth the effort? I'm not really into constant driver cleaning/upgrade tango. I d/led the 169.21 WHQL, but haven't done anything with them yet.scott s..

Hi All, and sorry for bad english:+ I have this problem on FS2004. I see squares of different textures in all the world. Like a puzzle. An example: Innsbruck in summer:And the problem is more visible in winter:I've tried all quality levels, from very low to ultra high. Check and uncheck graphic options. With ground environment and without. With original mesh-es and addon ones.I've also tried a lot of drivers, the latest and older ones. And reinstall too.My computer is:motherboard: Asus P5Bprocessor: Intel Core 2 Duo 6300 1.8GHzmemory: 2Gb DDR2 667Hz Kingstongr

I am currently struggling with 'blurries', or perhaps I should clarify - texture loading not keeping up with aircraft. My current set-up is as below, and I was wondering whether it would be worth spending

I run FS9 in XP Pro with 1GB Corsair DDR XMS3200 C2PT TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2 memory. I fly complex aircraft like the Dreamfleet Fokker 50 and the Flight One ATR, in complex sceneries, with real weather, Radio Contact, and a lot of GA AI planes. Mostly the simulation runs quite well but I get stutters now and again, and very occasionally I get a CTD near a busy airport which I think is due to memory 'overload'. RAM or graphics card?First choice is to double up the two vacant DIMM slots with the same paired RAM again. However, I cannot find a supplier. Second choice is the QVL recommendation: TwinX2048-3200CZ but I cannot find a supplier for this either. The Asus mobo is said…

Hi, I am puzzled by the poor performance of my new SATA2 drive compared to my previous ones (that I still have and use)that is affecting FSX performance. The new drive is a Seagate Barracuda ST3320620AS (SATA2) 320 GB 16MB buffer, partitionned into C (60GB) and D (238 GB). FSX is installed on the D drive. My previous drives, both WD1600JS SATA2 7200 RPM 8MB buffer, now holds data on a single 160 GB partition each (Drive F and G).Since FSX was running with no stutter on the previous system (P4 3.6GHz CPU and WD1600JS 160 GB), I was a bit surprised to see the introduction of stutters on the system (C2D 8400 at 3GHz with a Seagate Barracuda ST3320620AS). Since my old WD drives…

I hope this is appropriate for the Hardware forum. I like to have 2 different control configurations between flying planes and helis. Whats an easy way to switch configs without having to map out the buttons each time?

From what I have heard there will be a new CPU available later this year and it will require new motherboards. Also these motherboards will be designed in a completely new way. Correct?Does this not mean that the current penryn platforms will soon be obsolate and not possible to upgrade further? Also I would expect FS11 to come out next year and I guess the penryn will not be adequate for it.Otherwise I have heard that penryn significantly improves FSX compared to the previous core2duo. Is it so?But on the other hand what do you think about paying a lot of money now on penryn platform in order to use FSX and then fairly soon find yourself in the same situation again i.e my…

Do you have the same problems with the DX10 preview as we poor NVIDIA ?I mean, flashing runways - taxiways, no ground directions, missing lights in DS10 preview mode.I do like the improved lightning and the shadowing in the cockpit, yes the shadowing bitmap is rough, but it is helping me a lot with directional awareness.thanks, Jan

I was hoping one of you experts might help me figure out why multi monitor won't work in either fs9 or fsx? The two monitors work perfectly in windows vista together and dualview is enabled with my 28" LCD as primary and my 17" LCD as secondary. When i start fsx the game starts on the correct monitor but if i try to drag the gps or any other thing like a control or radio stack to the 17" monitor then the game just freezes and locks and crashes. FS9 won't even allow me to drag anything at all to the 2nd monitor almost like it doesnt see it. FSX sees that there are 2 monitors but it wont use the 2nd one and crashes if i try. Anyone else get this to work? I see people using …

Hi!Building a new PC for FSX:- Asus Maximus Extreme MB- QX9650- Radeon HD 3870 X2 (1 GBy Video RAM)- 1.2 kW Thermaltake PS (for that "mainframe" feel)So, should I load:- Win XP with 4 GBy RAM and DX9, or- Vista 32 with 4 GBy RAM and DX10, or - Vista 64 with 4 GBy RAM and DX10, or- Vista 64 with 8 GBy RAM and DX10 ??Questions:----------- With XP's GDI+ video architecture the 1 GBy video RAM is mapped into FSX's address space so FSX and XP are left with only 3 GBy to use, right?- With Vista 32's WDDM video architecure, is the 1 GBy video RAM mapped into the app address space as with GDI+, is it mapped into Vista 32's address space or does the video RAM "exist" in its own …

We all know how important a very fast CPU is for this software, and of course GPU processing is also important, but I want to know how much. With the new GT200 Nvidia offering coming later this year, which is supposed to have nearly 3x the performance of an 8800GTX (which I have now) I'm wondering if this will actually translate into performance gains in FSX. The big performance killer, it appears, is autogen and traffic. Is it because they are tied to GPU limitations or CPU limitations? What will the benefits of getting the new GT200 chipset?
