What's the verdict with WS monitors? I could only imagine they stretch everything, making it look bad?Any insight?

I've been reading through posts suggesting to use nHancer and remove existing profiles and creating new ones.However, I've just downloaded the latest version and it tells me that it can't remove the profiles due to some technology the nvidia have used in the latest forceware drivers.As far as I'm aware, I'm using Forceware 169.21 on my EVGA 8800GTS.

Hello AllPlease excuse my ignorance but what exactly are quad cores and dual cores.I notice that some people seem to have for instance dual core 2,2GHz machines(or something like that)now the 2.2Ghz seems to be quite slow compared to say my p42.8GHz but single processor, but is the dual core machine although seemingly fairly low spec in fact a stonker because its the equivalent of having two processors or indeed four operating together.Hope that makes some sense.cheers ANDY

I was doing some hardware maintenance and moving my C: drive when PM ver 7.0 locked up and aborted (this is the script when XP reboots). What I now have where C: was, is a PQRF partition. I've gone on line and searched for it, and find that it's what happens when PM cannot complete a task. By design, it will rename the partition type header on the partition to this when doing anything, then name it back again- so that if it doesn't complete (as in my case) then the partition cannot be accessed by ScanDisk etc.The C: drive is now invisible to the PC (and in Disk Management), but hasn this wierd descriptor "PQRF" in PM.My PC still boots, so the data is still there, just…

I'm thinking of getting a new video card. Mine is a number of years old now ( Sapphire Radeon 9600 pro with 256 MB ) and I've been noticing it sometimes won't load any textures inside fs2004 (ground, sky or aircraft). This may have been a heating thing and I've cleaned out some dust but it's happened since. Also sometimes when I switch settings on the ATI Catalyst the whole desktop gets visually garbled into blocks. I recently added 2 gigs of ram to my system to bring it up to 4 gigs total.My computer is home built with an e6700 CPU(Slightly overclocked) Asus P5b Preimuim MB. 2X500 gb sata drives(raid 0) and 2gigs mushkin ram. I am sorry to ask a question that is undoubtedly seen as obvious by many but I am always very confused about the relative importance of different bits of hardware to FS performance. I have read threads that individually reckon every bit is critical but the graphics card question raises its head most often. I see nhancer discussed in this forum, I've heard of rivatuner, and nvhardpage, and ntune. Are all these competing products for the same purposes?If so, I see Nick N is discussing nhancer mostly, is that the general consensus as the tool to use for establishing optimal performance from my (still in the box) evga 8800 gts (g92) 512?I've read that fan speeds are oddly locked at 30% on some nvidia cards and we need one of these utilities to unlock..yes? I've gotten my 8800 GT Superclocked overclocked even further to 670/1670 shader/970. How do I test the stability of it and check for artifacts? I'm using NVIDIA MonitorView to monitor temps. Fan speed is at 100%.Thanks!

I am getting this video noise too much lately. Whenever I get this..I boot up the system and it goes away for a few days and then it comes back.
