Hi All,I thought I would query this forum to see if others, who have successfully used TouchBuddy software, happen to be experiencing similar issues regarding TouchBuddy with either FS9 or FSX.The crux of my problem is that I have been unable to send Elevator up/down trim commands to FS9 or FSX. When I do send a command, all that happens is that the view changes or flickers, but the trim wheel does not move at all (when viewed in the virtual mode with the view). To move the trim wheel in manual mode, via a standard keyboard, all that is necessary is to do the following:1) Turn off the Num Lock pressing Num Lock key (if Num Lock light is on)2) Press either Num Pad 1 or Num …

My MaximumPC mag came today (May 2008) which featured an article: "RAID Cards: Ultimate Showdown". My curiosity was piqued (actually more like a Homer D'oh!) at the results...It showed the Adaptec 5405 way outperforming the 3ware 9650SE-4LPML on HD Tach RAID0 Read 308.2 MB/s to 135.7 MB/s.But there are at least 2 hmmm's about this. The Adaptec 5405 used a 256k stripe in the test... the 3ware 9650SE a 64k stripe. And 2nd... I don't know if the BBU was used for either, which I have read (somewhere, idk where) can effect the 9650's performance substantially.(Also I wonder about the Adaptec

i would like to change my "old" nvidia Geforce 7900 GT/GTOto a new nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS.now i heard, that therefore you have to delete the fsx.cfg to letFSX create a new one with the parameters of the new card. But what happens to all the entries in the fsx.cfg, that werewritten by addons like MytrafficX, FSMAP, etc...?do i have to copy these entries manually???any experiences? Thanks,Timo

Hi allI have a question: I use ATI Tray Tools, and have the FPS counter enabled. In FSX, it shows approximately double the FPS compared to the FSX FPS counter. As Tray Tools is set to a one second refresh, I wonder: Which one is telling the truth?I have FSX locked to 30, and when FSX is on the limit, tray tools displays 56-60fps. If I set FSX to unlimited, they both shoot up to over 80 at times, with occasional flashes over 100..The FPS counter doesn't really interest me a lot, it's nearly always turned off, but since I've discovered this quite by chance, I've become curious...RegardsGrahame

Say I want 4 gigs of ram, would it be better to get (2) 2 x 4 or (4) 2 x 4 sticks. Are there any performance differences between the two?

Tom's Hardware did a new grapchis card review which had FSX as one of the tests. I still don't get people who claim FSX is not video card dependant and that is CPU limited. Look at how Nvidia cards beat the crap out of AMD's cards in the FSX test. They are about 50% faster!! (I know about the driver issue and menu freeze on SP2, but come on)http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/04/01/nvi...view/page4.html

Hi,I went and got this card, installed it with the 8.3 drivers then noticed in the ccc that it lists onlt 512 of ddr3 and only showing one card. This is probably a stupid question but could the reason be that i am running it on a evga 680i board,or that my power supply has only 6pin connectors.the rest of my system is:Q6600,2xseagate 320gb hd,creative x-fi,ocz 700 watt power supply,4gb crucial ram,Vista64.thanks for any help,Tony.

Hi, I wonder if you can give me some advise please. I'm just about to order a new system solely for FSX which I run with 2 x 19" monitors (the 2nd for FSC etc..) I want to use my monitors for both boxes(The other is for my work) and have been told that if I use network cards, that will reduce my performance especially with FSX. Could any one advise if its possible to utilize a pair a monitors this way ?ThanksJohn

Hi. I have an older single-core system:Athlon64 3500+, 1GB RAM, X800XT 256MB, 500GB harddrive.FSX RTM was OK on this system. Autogen caused a pretty big FPS reduction, but as long as I kept it at very low it was fine. I had absolutely *no* blurries even when using the VFR England and Wales 1m photo scenery. If I maxed out autogen and scenery detail, I was getting framerates in the single-digits, but *still no blurries*. The England scenery has no autogen by default and so I spent a few happy months flying it.When I upgraded to SP1 (later SP2), framerate improved dramatically, or rather, the framerate hit from autogen was reduced significantly. I can now almost max out aut…

I' m Talking about Panel tooltip problemHello I was having that Panel Tooltip problem, where, every time my mouse was over a gauge (2D or VC) and a tooltip was displayed, a "previous" screenshot of my 2D pane appeared. I have an NVidia 8600GT (512MB) by AlbatronAfter testing several drivers new and old, I visited www.omegadrivers.com, downloaded and installed Nvidia Omega Drivers 2.169.21 (Forceware 169.21) for 2K/XP.Of course before that, I unistalled my NVidia display drivers via control panel CAUTION: TAKE CARE HERE!!! - not to uninstall your chipset or Network drivers if you have any -restarted - and then I ran the DetonatorRIP utility and I restarted again. This dri…

And could someone please tell me..1) Does it always open in virtual cockpit? And can you make it not DO that ???Plus then you must go to windowed mode(guess thats what it is) and change views.......not to bad....BUTThen how do you get back into full screen mode ????Thanks...Its so anoying.....Plus as in FS9 when you dropped all windows while flying(dash, guages etc..)you could look around and behind and up with no obstructions..(wings ,fuselage..etc)..Can you not do that with FSX?Again thanks.....

I am running two EVGA 8800 GTX cards in SLI mode on an EVGA 780 motherboard. The cards work well when I use them with FS9 on either XP or Vista 64, and also well with FSX on XP or Vista 64. However, when I run FSX on Vista with the DX10 preview boxed checked, my computer crashes and I get the dreaded blue screen of death. Is this happening just on my system or have others had this problem? If so, is there a solution?BillCPU: QX9650Motherboard: EVGA 780RAM: 4096 (800Mhz)Power: 700 WattHD1: XPHD2: Vista 64HD3: StorageHD4: External Storage Drive

In both FS 2004 and the FSX demo, I can get good FPS (50+) but every second or so there is a slight "stutter" or "jerk" in the video. This is most noticeable during turns. It appears in full screen and windowed mode. I also get jerkiness in the "top-down" view.Minimizing all the display and hardware options does not help. Neither does changing the resolution from 1600x1200 to 1280x1024. Also, setting the FPS cap to Unlimited does not help.I don't notice it in any other apps, just FS 2004 and FSX.Has anyone else noticed this problem?Any ideas on how to fix it?Thanks!Travisp.s. Well i just installed a 9600 GT in my machine as my old 8800GTS 320 meg was running out of mem when running FSX. As it stands at the moment i cant say i see much real difference between the cards, except maybe some less blurries but not to sure as yet. Now i have video mem to spare as FSX has gone as high as 380 meg. When i fly the Piper cheyyne X and swich between outside and cockpit view it seems to load a little quicker. Noting that when you do that and stay on external view long enough it swaps the VC textures to ram you can see that happen by watching Mem status, so that comes down to hard drive performance too. FPS seem mush the same, maybe less stuttering when fast…

OK, Got the new card and everything installed. I am in flightsim nirvana for about 10 minutes. THEN, the sim starts to "lurch" Meaning that the video isn't smooth anymore. My FPS are up to about 50 or so but the ground doesn't go by smooth. Changed settings from one extreme to another and it has no effect. If I reboot and go back into the sim, it's good for about 10 minutes then starts to lurch again, and gradually gets worse to the point of it being un-flyable. Is this a RAM setting problem?TurnipSPECS:VISTA Home Basic 580 WATT Sunbeam PowerCrucial Ballistix 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAMASUS P5N-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard Intel Core 2…

I am working with a friend via e-mail in an attempt to discover why his default Extra 300 panel does not display digits in those instruments where it should. He has both FS2002 and FS2004 installed and the panel displays incorrectly on both.We have gone through all of the software possibilities to no avail so I am hoping perhaps one of you hardware guru's can tell me if there is possibly a hardware issue which would cause the gauges to display dashed lines (see attached picture) rather than the expected digits. It works perfectly on my system and on the systems of others I have contacted. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on the matter.
