HiI bought new headset with mike (Sennheiser). They are much better then my old , but know in FS9 especially when sound is louder, I hear in regular interval something like static discharge sound, crackling. When I do dxdiag test, everything is OK. Sound is clear. But in fs9 especially with for example jet engine sound (TSS CFM56) I hear this crackling sound every few seconds. When I reduce quality of sound in FS9 to medium. This crackling sound disappear. If I buy PCI Soundcard like CREATIVE LABS AUDIGY SE, what are the chances of disappearing of this sound. Thanks EdinI have this config:Intel C2 E6750MBO Gigabyte P35 dq6 (Realtek integrated sound)4GB DDR PC800 VGA ATI HD29…

Greetings Everyone,I recently noticed a few articles regarding the upcoming G92b Nvidia cards. Apparently, the 9800GT and 9900 are going to utilize this core (google G92b). I wonder if this is the GT200 that has been buzzing in the press lately?Very interesting...Jamey

Well, I did a defrag with O&O as suggested, now I have virticle lines in the sky, plus the water has weird looking things happening to it. Here's what I did.Defragged twice with O&OLoaded FSX as usual.Started seeing virticle lines in the sky and funky looking water.Ran driver cleaner and replaced ALL the ATI drivers and CCC.That didn't work.I removed FSX.CFG and let FSX build another one, still no go.Adjusted settings in CCC to see if there was a switch thrown that wasn't before. Still nothing. To say that I'm P.O.d is an understatement.Anyone see this happening before? I need help!TurnipSPECS:VISTA Home Basic 580 WATT Sunbeam PowerCrucial Ballistix 4GB(2 x 2GB…

Hello--I'm looking to buy a yoke for use with FS2004 (I've been using a joysick for several years). I like the looks of the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke, but I've read on this forum and others that many yokes were released with a major "phantom button push" problem that rendered them nearly unusable.Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved? If I buy a Saitek yoke, can I be sure it will work, or is it still a total crap shoot?Any input would be appreciated!

Hi,Forgive my ignorance. How do I set profiles in RivaTuner so that the card automatically overclocks and increases in fan speed when FSX is started and automatically declock to low clocks/fan speeds? Thanks,

VisionTek Radeon Quad HD2600XT (1GB, PCI-Express, Quad Display Support) This seems intriguing for multi-monitor support. I see it listed for $349. I have FS9 on a P4 3.4Ghz with 1 Gig Ram and currently a Radeon ATI x1300 512 dual display card. Runs fine.Thinking of upping to 2 Gigs RAM also.Is this card hype??

Hey guys. I know a lot of the folks in here double as engineers in the real world so I have a question for you Data Center guys. I am in the process of upgrading the system below. I am going to an X38 chipset with the Asus Maximus Extreme and 2 gigs of OCZ Reaper DDR3/1333. The real goal is to take advantage of the true Dual 16x PCIE of the X38 and the overclocking abilities of that board. With this memory and liquid cooling on the board itself I am hoping for 4.2-4.3 with the memory at DDR3/1333. That is a lot of CPU/Memory bandwidth and GPU bandwidth :)My question is this: I am currently running 2 SATA drives in Raid-0 but they are the original SATA standard. I or…

Dunno how it developed, but despite XP defrag and PerfectDisk's boot sector defrag, nothing was speeding up the last seconds of boot time on my newer XP installation. The taskbar would load, but there was something slowing down the final loading of tray icons and so forth. I then discovered MS' utility, Bootvis.exe, of which XP is supposed to incorporate the optimization routine that is in that program--NOT! Anyway, ran the optimization routine and voila, instant loading of tray icons and much faster boot time. I believe it just locates all the files and services involved in boot up and optimizes their positions on the disk, which i thought PD would do but clearly did…

I recently got a new notebook from "Killer Notebooks" and thought I'd briefly pass on my experiences. The unit has the x9000(2.8 unlocked) processor, nvidia 8800gtx 512mb, 4 gigs 800 ram, 200 gig 7200 rpm hd, 1920x1200 re screen, xp pro. I am very pleased with the performance. Numerous unique to killernotebooks heat syncs for additional cooling, superb before and after sales support. In short while not inexpensive this is the best money I have ever spent on a laptop and I went to laptops exclusively 6 years ago.For anyone considering a laptop in this league I would suggest that in addtion to alianware and others that you should also give Killer Notebooks a good look.Websit…

Good evening gents. I am getting back into the flightsim community after a 3 year layover. My question to this forum is this.... I have just built a custom alienware area-51 rig at a cost of 5100. If you want specs I can get them, just dont have them here. With this rig, do you think FS with PMDG, activesky , squawkbox and FSNav will run great with high frame rates. Smooth as silk? I am pretty sure that this rig will have no problems at all, but before I pull the trigger I was looking for input. Thanks for your time, and I will post specs.Brett Lucas

All;I am running FS9 on the following:P4 3.0 GHz1 Gig RAM250 Gig SATA HD512 Mb ATI Radeon x1300 dual monitor support cardIt works great and all my settings for FS9 are maxed out. I rarely get a stutter.I want to add a third monitor and will add a second video card and was wondering:1. Should my two cards be the same?2. With the third monitor, will my rig run OK?3. Can I mix PCI, AGP, etc for the cards are do they all need to be the same type?4. Do I need 512 Mb for the second card for just the third monitor? Many thanks.John

Hi, has somebody, who changed his graphics card, had to re-install add-ons (or other problems), because of hardware dependent copy protection mechanisms?Today i ordered a new CPU and a new graphics card, but now i'm worried, because re-installation of FSX and Vista is not an option for me. I even bought the payware version of driver cleaner to avoid a re-install of Vista and i would be really angry if a single add-on would ruin my plan :)Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me. My dad has just bought a new simulator for simmin'g model aircraft as he has a model aircraft and wants to practice flying it.He has tried loading it onto is PC (quite an old machine) and from what I can make out it looks like the graphic drivers need to be updated. But I

Well........I'm absolutley astonished with the performance of this 3870x2 as compared to my 8800GTX.The visual quality is just awesome with the 3870X2 as well as the fluidity of FSX. Per the FPS counter I have lost a few FPS. However, FSX runs so much smoother with this card my initial perception (prior to turning on the FPS counter) was that I gained some FPS.The biggest thing of all, the card/drivers are rock solid. All those pain in the arse random crashes are a thing of the past. I can now defintely attribute those headaches to the Nvidia drivers.I had some reservations purchasing this ATI card because I haven't owned one in years. I really didn't want to spend th…

I'm having a problem with, I believe, my graphics card and/or driver. When I start my computer up, it never finishes loading to the desktop. The monitor is all black, except for a series of elongated dashes across the upper edge of my monitor. These dashes stretch from the upper left corner to about two-thirds across the top, and seem to have a pale green color to them. They go away, then return. After two or three cycles of this (I get the feeling something is trying to load) I get a blue screen, filled with text, which disappears after 2-3 seconds. While I can't read everything, I've spotted a line that I think says "unable to load video driver".This began a couple of da…

Hi, sorry to raise a post about this but i'm wondering if anybody has had any success using the current WHQL 169.25 drivers in fs2004. Using these and nhancer i no longer get anti aliasing in game. I did have it working with previous 160.xx drivers but these new ones seem not to like nhancer too well in flightsim.reverting back to an older driver isnt an option for me as so if anyone has any advice on getting nhancer working with this current release i'd very much appreciate it.thanks

Hello out there. It seems I have been around the world reading reviews, benchmarks and forum posts everywhere and I am still confused, skeptical and tired. I have settled on this processor but I cannot settle in on a MB and Ram model and speed. It seems there are many who have purchased some of the newer MB offerings from Asus, but not without Ram issues. I thought I had found an answer but then found others had problems. The chipset options are driving me crazy. For every positive post there were 2 negatives. I think the newer MB's seem to be going through a number of issues and I believe in time they will work it out. I personally do not wish to be part of the beta team …

I currently have an E6700 CPU and want faster texture loading of MegaScenery sceneries in FSX, faster loading of airports after clicking the Fly Now button, and of course a higher frame rate when landing at busy airports with full of 3rd party AI traffic. Would upgrading to a quad core improve the performance in all these mentioned areas in FSX? What about upgrading to a 9800 GX2 video card as obviously loading airports would be faster with a faster video card but would I see improvements in the rest of the areas I mentions in FSX or does FSX not support SLI? I already have 4GB RAM, 8800 Ultra, non-SLI motherboard, and a 150GB Raptor in my system.

Was looking for an inexpensive interim PC for FSX until FSXI is sorted out. Best Buy has this Gateway Q9300 available for $1100. One reviewer said he found out that the power supply is only 400w, and I noticed that the 4Gb RAM is 5300 variety. Still it seems like a pretty good unit and the price seems very reasonable. Would appreciate any comments/opinions.http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...7#productdetailThanks!Bruce
