I was thinking today, Would the PS 3 be powerful enough to run. I was just thinking imagine FSX in full 1080p. It would look insane. I no Microsoft would release it on xbox360 but with ps3 being a good amount more powerful it would run better on that. Especially with the built in browsers that they comes with ps3 I could see it working. With bluetooth peripherals such as joy sticks and such it could be a good idea.

So here's how the whole thing got started:I was once browsing through the System Requirements Lab website and scanning my system to see which games I could play, just for the fun of it.So I started up the first scan, and I passed with flying colors. Except I noted that it said that my video card had 2.2 GB of VRAM.I didn't believe it. So I ignored it until today. I downloaded the latest MemStatus, and lo and behold! I look into the VRAM section and it says that my Total Video RAM is 2267 MB.The last time I checked, the standard EVGA 8800 GT certainly has 512 MB of VRAM, as per the NVIDIA website and my System Information Tool.Is it possible that my video card really does …

Hi,I'm doing some cleanup, and I've come across something that I am not sure about. I have a Sata drive with 3 partitions. I have data on one of the partitions. The other two partitions are now empty after the file cleanup. If I were to delete these partitions, would it just revert to one primary partition on the drive, keeping the data on the first partition intact, or would it delete everything on the drive. The other two empty partitions were set up as primary, as well as the partion with data on it. All 3 are a primary partition. Thanks Bill

Hi all,It's interesting to see the age old ATI v Nvidia play-offs in various reviews, with the Oh-So-Stale format run-around shooter games (Pretty much what most games are these days ... YAWN) - Getting into the triple Digits for Frame rates.I'm a casual gamer, so my motherboard, CPU & Memory are average.Asus M2V-TVMAMD 64 X2 4600+ (2.4Ghz per core) - Not too shabby, but have upgraded the bios to accept the 6000+ (3.0Ghz per core) - will get soon maybe(cheap)ATI - HD 3870 - Now this is actually a really nice card.Memory - 667Mhz DDR2 2GB - Does the JobWhat i've noticed with FSX, is that when running the sim at max monitor res (1440 x 900)MyTrafficX - 5.1b withAI 1…

Bought a new computer a few months ago and thought I had all the bells and whistles I'd need for FSX.2.20 gigahertz Intel Core2 Duo64 kilobyte primary memory cache2048 kilobyte secondary memory cacheWindows Vista Home Premium3070 Megabytes Installed MemoryRadeon X1300/X1550 Series [Display adapter]Radeon X1300/X1550 Series Secondary [Display adapter]DELL SE198WFP [Monitor]Problem is that for some dumb reason I bought the "narrow" case Dell Inspirion. Hi,Anyone had any problems with these drivers? I am considering downloading them due to weird problems in FSX, such as when switching from view to view, the screen goes blank for 5 seconds then the PC tells me it was a driver error. Thanks,

Not me but my new puter.......Although it really smokes FSX and FS9 is off the charts.....I'm affraid its sick....And it is going back....It always had a boot-in problem..It could take three tries sometimes before it would boot..This was after the HDD was replaced and later found a cracked clip on the sata cable that I too replaced...Well we thought that would fix it...But NO.....Not my luck...So we suspected the mem. I tested for hours and it will boot fine with any three gigs but when the fourth is placed it fails to boot..Also it never would wake up from sleep.... So it appears to be the MoBo and is off to be replaced,(They won't let me install it)Warrenty you see....M…

Hi all:When I overclock my RAM, I have these settings to chose from:AutoDDR2-800 MHzDDR2-961 MHzDDR2-1003 MHzDDR2-1066 MHz*DDR2-1200 MHZ* (it's in red in the BIOs)*DDR2-1334 MHz* (same here)I can only go up to DDR2-961...my computer won't POST at DDR2-1003. Why is this?Forgive my rather ignorant and inexpertise view of this topic. Thanks,

Hi again, I've replaced my x800xt with an 8800GT about 5 weeks ago and am wondering whether or not I've been expecting too much by way of performance increases. I've struggled to get AA/AF to hold, but seem to have figured that out, yet still have a shimmering mess when compared to the old ATI board and sometimes struggle to hold 20FPS when on the ground or through heavy cumulus.I'll post my pertinent settings and would like some opinions on if this is typical or maybe I have a bad board? I run a 500 watt PSU, 50% fan in Rivatuner which yields about 46C under load so heat is not the issue. NO addons yet, all stock FSX except Treex trees, default AI deleted - all WOAI …

http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/x52pro.htmAnyone use the Stick and Throttle?I like the yoke and rudders, but I prefer the stick with twist and a nice throttle.I'm currently using the MS FFB2 stick with forces turned OFF. I like it because the stick is loose just like a real airplane's yoke would beThe throttle is the CH throttle (TY PS :) ), and it works with all the buttons I need. My FFB2 stick is starting to go, but I've gotten about 5 good years out of it so far. The throttle has seen better days hehe, but it works fine for now too.I'm looking down the road here.

Hi,I recently upgraded my PSU from 450W to 620W and my GPU from 8800GTS/320 to 8800GTX/768 and found out that my framerates are significant increased but the overall performance much slower then before. Checking the performance indicator in Vista tells me that I was dropped from a 5.9 to 4.3 due to the primary harddisk. (?)I made these upgrade because I was thinking that the 320 Mb GPU was a bottleneck at 1920x1200, even under fs9 and a couple of weeks ago I purchased 2x Raptor 150 because the texture loading in FS9 was not fast enough and I was blaming my older Samsung Sata2 drives. So finally I spent a little of Euro 600 to improve overall speed (not FPS) but recieved a …

Problem: Throttle Responds Between 50-100%I am trying to get my Pro Flight Yoke and additional throttle quadrant setup and am running into problems. I am using Vista Enterprise 32bit with FS9 and FSX. Here is my problem. When I get both throttles set correctly, I don't have any response between 0-50% on either lever when pushing the lever forward. When I get to around 50%, I then start to get a response. So basically my entire throttle range is between the mid-point and end-point of the quadrant. I have gone into FSUIPC and configured the range and I get the full range of movement there. I have downloaded the most recent drivers from the website and installed them. I do …

Hello,Recenly I bought a new PC with the following characteristicsIntel Core 2 Quad Q6600 at 2.4GhzGigabyte GAP35DS4 M/B4GB DDR2 memoryPCI-X ALBATRON 8800GT with 512 MBWin XP SP2 DirectX 9.0cI have installed the latest Nvidia official drivers 169.21 and set up FS9 exactly as I had it with my old PC and the ATI card. Although the frames are much much better now I have a lot of blurries, more than I had on the ATI. Especially over the Alps the situation is awful, in order to see proper textures I have to reload the scenery, by using a key combination set in FS.As I have read on various forums there are propbelms with the new nvidia cards and the latest drivers, the most "se…

I read on another forum a while ago that an OCed 8800 GT or GTS 512 can beat an 8800 GTX at resolutions like mine (1280x1024) in FSX. Is this true? Or will the 8800 GTX still triumph?I read a benchmark that placed the 8800 GTS 512 ahead of the GTX even at high resolutions. I also saw one where the 8800 GT beat the GTX at lower resolutions. Is this possible?I can brag to my friends if it is: "I have a card better than an 8800 GTX!" :-lol

I know FSX is CPU driven but do you think I would see any improvements from upgrading to a 8600 GTS from a 6600 GT? My 6600 GT has DDR3 memory as would the 8600 GTS but the bandwidth on the 8600 is double that on my 6600 GT. The 8600 GTS scored very well on Toms Hardware chart. I can pick it up for around 100.00 and thought it was a good deal. Hear are my system specs:Pentium 805 dual core 2.6 oc to 3.5ghz500w Raidmax PSU2 Gigs RAMWin XP/sp2 tuned up using Nicks guide6600 GT 256mb GPUFSX/SP2 (not acceleration)I now get 15-30 FPS average depending where I am flying. Hi all - ive been a fs user since v4 and used this forum but this is the first time ive become a reg user and my first post so hello! Now that Nvidia 8 series cards a dirt cheap its time for me to upgrade my rig so FSX runs better... Im currently running on a 1GB, Athlon 64 3200+ using 32 bit Vista ultimate, with an onboard GEForce 6150LE.The plan is to upgrade to;1. a PCI-X Geforce 8500GT 800MHz 512MB card for DX10. I expect this to allow me to move the sliders at least somewhere off minimum, and keep around 15-20 FPS (which is fine for my purposes).2. Put in an extra 1GB of DDR2 400 - I expect this to speed the whole machine up - but particularly in respect of FSX - …

I'm trying to decide between operating systems for my new flight sim computer. I hear good and bad about Vista, but mostly bad. I hear only good things about XP. The system I'm going for is a quad 6600, 3 gigs of ram, nvidia 8800GT card. Any opinions you would like to share are very much appreciated. Thanks!Curt

Hi All:My e8500 arrived, and after the initial boot at the stock 3.16ghz, I couldn't resist.....after a bit of tweaking she is sitting very happily at 4.10ghz. I will of course run Prime 95 overnight (for now) and then tweak further tomorrow- after a little more research! In the mean time, any thoughts here? At initial glance 4.2 seems very achievable- on air. I do run a Tuniq 120, massive- but worth it IHMO. I have seen scores far higher than that- but the 45nm chips seem to tolerate higher voltages less than the 65nm- and I believe that the max for the e8500 is 1.46- and 1.36 appears to be the "happy" max.......thoughts?Well- will keep testing- so far so good- please…
