Well, I benchmarked my system to get a starting point but I'm so imbarrassed that I wont post it here. The new 8800GT worked good but with the CPU I am running, well.... it did the swirl dive down the terlit. ( System Specs Below Are What I will Be Installing Tomarrow )My question is that I read something about having to set the RAM speed manually on this motherboard or it might eat my OS. I would like to know what the REAL minimum requirement is for FSX.Assume you wan't UT FSGenesis mesh and Active Sky and addonplanes.I'm not talking about max every slider or getting alltime high fps.I'm prepared for comprimises but still it has to look better than FS9+UT+FE+mesh+addonplanes and I wan't to be able to enjoy the improved realism in FSX. If so what could a real minimum requirement be?My impression after trying FSX is 2 Gb RAM and a 512N DDR3 RAM videocard and some kind of dual core CPU but which one?

Microsoft has released the March update for DirectX for almost all operating systems. You can get the update here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en.It is generally recommended everyone install the latest and greatest DirectX files for compatibility and the best performance with your sound/video hardware. I installed it on my system but it didn't fix my Nvidia video card driver problem with DX10 Preview turned on (some runway lines flicker). But I'm always hopeful a fix will arrive soon before I upgrade my 8800GTX's 2-3 years from now....Jim

Every morning when I startup my computer, my third monitor off of a secondary video card is dark. This is true whether I shut my computer down at night, or leave it on 24/7. Note that this problem occured for the first time about three weeks ago after working flawlessly for about a year. Is this a FSX bug or something wrong with my video card?I run AA and AF set with nHancer, not in-game like I used to with my old card....Also, I've noticed, using RivaTuner, that the default fan speed for my card is very low, like 29%, but checking the temps they are only 51C....which isn't bad at allanyone know what's up?Thanks!!

I recall reading that Nvidia users were having problems with fsx. Perhaps with sp2, I never paid complete attention because I'm using an ATI card...albeit an old one.I finally decided to upgrade, but it feels like the 8800 gts (g92)512 is the only logical card to get.Are the problems between sp2 and Nvidia real? OK,I just ordered my TrackIR Pro clip and am getting rid of the hat.Now I need a headset because the cheapie I have been using I don't think will work with the clip.I have 2 external speakers and a subwoofer.Now I plug my headset into the speakers.Is there an advatage to USB headset or can I just get a regular one like I have now that the clip will mount to?If I go USB will it negate my exteral speakers?Thanks,Ron

I bumped up vCore from default 1.25 to a paultry 1.287, and voila, no problem running this beast at 4.0GHz on stock cooling with the case cover off. I've recently built a new system (see sig for details) and have hit a problem that has me beat.All the axis assignments for my CH hardware are set via FSUIPC rather than in FS9. The left-most lever on the CH Pro Yoke is assigned to the spoiler axis. Now here's the crazy bit... when I pull the lever back to raise the spoilers I get sound interference akin to radio breakthrough. I push the lever forward to lower the spoilers and it stops. This doesn't happen for the lever assigned to reverse thrust (the right-hand one).In my previous system I had the three CH devices - yoke, throttle and pedals - plugged into a separate PCI USB card because I didn't have enough USB ports. Is anyone flying FSX with an Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT card? If so, what kind of results are you getting with it? My Radeon 9800 XT bit the dust. It was handling FSX pretty well. Hi I have 3 monitors for 2D's cockpit views and running FSX. With FS2004 I adjusted the bezel and horizon without any problem with: VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT=x, y, zBut now with FSX, any value I introduce it makes no difference. No change at all in my views.Any help on this?ThanksMAD

I've been toying with the idea of an upgrade for awhile. First here is what I have:AMD64 4000+, 1GB ram, 7800GT, IDE drivesAnd here is what I plan:E8400, 2GB ram, same vcard, SATA drivesThis is all for FS9 for now. My current system gives me pretty smooth experience above 20 fps at all time with only occasional stutters when loading AI or clouds. My first question is, will I see about double or better performance with the upgrade? Secondly, since 8400 is not available, I'm considering the 6750.
