Has anyone been able to run FSX SP2 (withuot acceleration) on the nvidia 8800gt card. Just upgraded from a 7950gt which didn't run it so thought I'd get a heads up before install...cheersDennis

Not sure where to post this but...The last two nights when I went to shut down XP, I get that message simular to, a program is not running but will not close . The progress meter moves very slow and I have to hit cancel to kill it,No biggie but the name appears to be a small random name.Ones like, be7 cfh dt9 ect.I run task manager and see no progs named that.I run Adaware,Sybot Search and destroy and AVG.They run clean or pick up the occasionsal cookies.A random named prog runnng in the background is making me paranoid.Any suggestions welcomed.

I just purchased this danged thing and I can't figure out how to program the dual throttles. Can anyone help me out here? I found one suggestion on the internet and it said that the sensitivities place is where to set it up but that area only shows a single throttle adjustment, vice two.Help?

Having completed a rather neat looking Cessna 172 panel we are now looking to add some radio equipment. Problems is that after the build funds are tight to say the least! Can anyone recommend some good low cost nav hardware - enough to make instrument approaches without having to rely on the screen based radio stack and that looks the part? When buying a power supply is it better to get one with one massive 12V vrail or is it ok to get one that say has 3 or 4 12v vrails spreading out the load?

Hi guys,I just wanted to share a little information about FSX running in a qx9650 with a 790i Ultra and SLI in Windows Vista SP1 32bit.At first it was ####. Everytime I fired up FSX 5 minutes later it locked my computer. My PC also locked while using vista (web browsing, chatting, listening music, etc). After checking out a lot (and I mean A LOT!) of forums I discovered that my problems were:1. Motherboard Bios. I was P01 and I flashed to P04... nice :-)2. I don't know how long this has been going on but I noticed it a few weeks ago. Whenever I turn on my speakers (Logitech X-530 5.1 system) there is a really low level buzz. I'm not playing any games they just have to be turned on.Any ideas?

I recently upgraded my hardware which features a Xeon 3350 processor (same core as Q9450) and ATI HD3870 graphics adapter. I am running Catalyst 8.4 w/ stock options; OS is Windows XP SP3 w/ DirectX 9.0c. Also running a freshly installed FSX SP2 w/ stock display options and no add-ons. Things work swimmingly for a short time. However, as soon as I start to pan the view, I experience massive geometry corruption and missing textures. Frame rates tumble from a steady 30 to < 1 FPS. I've been trying to hunt down some information that might solve an issue I'm having with antialiasing in FS2004.Okay first off, I've just upgraded my PC to a Core 2 duo 3.0 MHz system, with 4GB of DDR2 Ram, and a 9800 GTX Vid card. To my surprise, Windows XP booted up when I reapplied the power (I'm still using my old case, SATA HD's, DVD-R, power supply, ect.) I planned on reformatting, but since XP booted I thought I might just have a play with it as is and see how it runs. OK, I'm certainly going back to 169.25.175.16s may give much better image quality, BUT:FSX stutters humongously, with frames locked or unlocked. Too many blurries, and nHancer or not, I get about 10 FPS slower than with the older drivers. Way too many driver lock-ups and freezes.So I get bored of these problems and I open up Midtown Madness 2 (a 2001 game), and within about 2 minutes of opening it, the video driver permanently crashes and I have to reboot. I've had it! Could NVIDIA stoop any lower?

I had my dedicated FS raptor go bad on me abou a week ago so I decided to add 2gig more RAM and add Vista 32 HE on my system. NewZEgg had a kickass deal so I installed as normal and FS9.1 statrs with the forward view with just the bottom half of the cessna panel .To fix the view to normal I must change a view and then go back.I am running latest Nvidia driver I think 174.25 w/o n-hancer on a 8800 GT 512.Before I goto deep into into the install with all my addons I want to know if this is a DX10 issue with FS9 using a DX10 compatible crad or I am missing some tweak in Vista.ThanksAndy

I tried out the trial versions of OO Defrag 10 and Ultimate Defrag 2008 and defragged my FSX partion by Name. After using OO Defrag I tested FSX loading out and it took longer to load. Then I tried defragging my FSX partition with Ultimate Defrag 2008 using the Name option as well and put my Megascenery folder before my FSX folder. After defragging using that program I still got the longer than usual load times. When the progress bar hits 6% it stays there for around 30 seconds, my hard drive starts making steady ticking sound while at 6%, then slowly goes up with a few more stops. I am in the process of ordering a new system and all the help here has been great, I hope one day to repay the time everone who reponded took.As now w/ FS( I use 3 monitors (present specs should be listed below).What I do is place a spot view on the 21 mon, a panel view on the 17/16 mon and FSNav on the 18 panel mon. (I relize or I think FS Nav is not yet avalible on FSX, thus I want to place a GPS in its place).Is this posible on FSX (ie windows mode and drag the views from monitor to monitor), or is there a better way. My backup system died today. It was a P4 3.4 in an Intel 915GAV mobo with 2G pc3200 ram.What happened - fired it up to do some updating, all was well for about 10 minutes - then - it shut down. Would not restart. After a bit of checking, I determined that the water Pump on my cooling system had died and the CPU overheated. Cooling block was too hot to touch. After it cooled, took system apart and cleaned and reinstalled the CPU with a large air cooler.Fire up system - mobo led is lit - everything is running BUT no POST. OK, so while I wait for my nVidia 3800 GS to arrive, I've installed two ATI 3870 OCs with the Omega drivers and ATI Tray Tools, with 2 flat panels hooked into the primary card and the third monitor on the secondary, and I had a pretty good flight last night. Very cool! The primary monitor works great, but I can't figure out how to get TT OR ATI's own CCC manager to apply the settings for Anti Aliasing, AF, "no-mipmaps", etc., on the second card/screens -- the settings only work on my primary desktop monitor. Hi! I'm wondering if it's somehow possible to use TrackIR in external views? I also use DBS Walk and Follow and it would be especially nice to use TrackIR in Walk and Follow mode. It works in "cockpit walk" mode but to get it working in external views would be great for making videos.
