Hi,I have a sound problem in FSX (happens slightly in other games, but I use FSX primarily), and I am helping someone can help me.With certain aircraft sounds (LDS in particular) the sounds at times seem to change up and down in pitch. I don't mean the change in pitch due to engine speed. It is best described as a "shoosh" from high to low, on top of the regular aircraft sounds. It's hard to describe. It disappears eventually but then if you press "Q" and "Q" again it comes back. If i swap the sounds in teh LDS767 for different ones the problem goes, and I have noticed it with other sound packs I have, so I don't mean to say that it is related to the aircraft or develop…

On my present system I have a "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS" sound card installed, and it finally is working great with the latest Creative software.Monday I should receive my hardware for a "Core i7" upgrade. If anyone is interested, the content is listed on this forum in the post titled: "Upgrade".Included will be an "Asus P6T Deluxe V2 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel" Motherboard. My question is: Has anyone made a similar upgrade and used the : "Onboard Audio" with the "8 channels / ADI AD2000B" Audio chipset? Since my last upgrade I have wondered if onboard sound has migrated to be better than my Creative card without taxing resources too much for the upgraded system…

Current system is a AMD Athlon 3000XP, 3 gigs of ram and a G7600 AGP card on N7N2 delta board. Has done me well for 6 or more years. Im mainly a FS9 user, but do like to use FSX. Im a helicopter pilot and as such i typically keep all AI off, i never use high end add on airport scenery. I like to fly around 1500 feet at 150 knots from my hospital sceneries so i do not need the same demands as lot of people who post on here. I'd like to start planning a new system, budget is about $900-$950. Looks like a build around a E8500 is my best bet. No plans to go I7 at all, put it this way, the way i play FSX it runs pretty well on my system so that shows you just how little…

Hello,Anyone know a good resource for a list of processes - what they are, what the do, are they safe to disable?I remember that there was a really good resource some time ago but I am not sure of what it was if if it is updated. A Google search of the process name usually returns a bunch of websites trying to sell you spyware removal tools.

Hello guys! I have a big question and im a bit worried about what i can expect about this situation.. because money is money! HeheWell, my pc is dead, it was an [email protected] and a GTS250.. my fsx was not a dream in performance, so all of the hardware I will put here, will give me a majestic performance jump, I have this in my mid.Ok, now, I have a little more than 1 week for choose a config, keep in mind, that I will have 980-max 1000 euros for expend in this party.I know, reading all the forums and NickN, that nvidia is the best thing for FSx, so the card will be a GTX 2##, that

I am sure that you guys have seen lots of topic posts like this, but I am so confused..I just purchases a new system, I figured this would run FSX quite well. It handles fs9 very well, but FSX runs quite slow, and forget about trying to run FSX with any add-on?I am now running XP, I was running this rig on Vista 32bit, but I had problems with the sound Card in Vista. It did not faster on Vista, even with DirectX 10.Dell XPS 630IIntel Core 2 Quad-Core Q95450 (2.66Ghz, 1333MHz, 12MB cache)4 GB Dual Channel DDR2 800 MhzHard Drive 1.2 TBGraphics 1 GB nVidia GeForce GTX 280128MB Ageia PhysX PCI cardSound Blaster X-FI XtremeKiller Gaming CardNow I am running a large monitor, …

Hi,Ok, well it looks like I'm done as far as the overclock is concerned. I know a few people asked me to post my settings. The final overclock speed is set at 143x30=4290GHz. The Max temp I've seen is 65 Degrees, this is on air folks. Just about a 1GHz overclock, absolutely incredible.ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 AI Settings-------------------------------------------------AI Overclock Tuner: X.M.P.Profile Info: 2000MHz-7-7-8-20-2N-1.65V-1.60VCPU Ratio Setting: 30.0Speed Step: DisabledBCLK Freq.: 143PCIE: 100DRAM Freq.: DDR3-2006MHzUCLK Freq.: AUTOQPI Link: AUTOCPU Voltage: 1.32500QPI/DRAM Core Voltage: 1.60000DRAM Bus Voltage: 1.64All other voltage settings are set to auto.

I recently bought an HP dv7-2043 laptop. It features a 17" LCD 1600 x 900, 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650, Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 @ 2.0 GHz, 4 GB DDR2, 4 GB SDHC card for Ready-Boost, 64-bit Vista, and 2 x 250 GB 5400 RPM hard drives. It scores decent Windows Index numbers: Processor 5.0, Memory 5.3, Graphics 5.9, Gaming Graphics 5.6, and Hard Drive 5.5. I am playing FSX Deluxe & Accel. I have tweeked the settings and performance is okay I guess. At Medium to High settings it usually flutters between 18 - 20 FPS, but when landing Aerosoft's Bush Hawk on water, for example, it can dropped to 4 FPS and get very jerky. Problem is that I'd like to add GEX, UTX, FSG, plus…

Hey Nick, I have read, understood and put into practice your defrag instructions. However, as my new install is going to set up as follows:2 x 300gb raptors in RAID0 controlled by areca 1210 controller card, containing photoscenery1 x 150gb raptor controlled by the areca card, containing my FSX install1 x 1TB western digital caviar containing OS on separate partition, controlled by controller card, rest of the drive containing overflow, back ups, media etc.I thought the instructions might vary. How would you recommend defragging the above setup ? Do I need to worry about positioning files ? ( I have Acronis) I wondered if the type of defrag and sequence would differ from i…

Clearance-Media.com lists software at a very low price. Has anyone had experience with this source? I would not want to purchase from an illegal source.Example: Microsoft Windows XP Pro Edition x64 bit for $68 to $78.Link is as follows:http://www.clearance-media.com/index.php?m...CFQxM5QodRlAQewYou can also simply do a Google search for "Windows XP 64 bit" and it is the first link that pops up.If anyone knows anything about this site, the information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:RTH

As many of you know, when you install these later nVidia drivers, you tend to also get the PhysX driver as well...my question is, since FS does not use the PhysX driver at all, is it completely safe to remove this driver via the Add/Remove Programs method? Or does it have hooks into the rest of the sys to where it is not recommended?

Hello,I'm thinking of buying a new system in mid July that will allow me to play FS9 with all sliders maxed out and a bunch of vital addons with no hiccups. Reading from the hardware section, however it seems that this will not be possible with FSX. My budget is roughly 800$ CAD which I think is reasonable for an okay system to run FSX. I got a few questions that hopefully somebody can answer. 1. It seems that the q6600 cpu is of common choice for FSX - is this true and if so what is the most desirable speed to overclock it too? 2. Would the Core 2 Duo e8400 be of better choice? 3. Would GTX260 be of better choice compared to the 9800GTX(+) or is there a better graphics c…

My SYstemi7920 @ 3.8 vista 64 / nvida 285. [HT off] / Air cooling. My system has been stable at 3.8 Ghz for a few weeks, i have been ramping up the OC since i got the system a few months back. But in last few days, the system tends to crash FSX at or near start of cruise phase of the.I reinstalled FSX, but did not fix the issueI lowered OC to 3.6 GHz still no luckI reinstalled vista & FSX still at my 3.8Ghz and still no luckUntil i lowered my OC 3.4Ghz, and now seems things are sorted out, but did not have time to make a full flight to make sure, considering i have spent last three days under the problem. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!FSX can be a very tasking Hobby indeed!!!!!!!!!…

Hello,Still a 95% FS9 user, but with the many new fantastic looking addons that are being released for FSX (seen the Aerosoft Catalina :( ), I am starting to look into what to get to fully transfer to FSX.Basis would definately be a big computer upgrade, so I'm able to run FSX in all it's glory at a decent fps.I've read a lot of good things about AMD's Phenom II and it has an attractive pricing. On the other hand; my past 3 computers were AMD equiped (mostly cost-driven decisions at that time) and I've always had more or less a feeling that I would have been better off with an Intel CPU. (Never managed with FS9 to get into a constant 20+ fps range, while I've seen Intel e…

Hi all,I'm trying to troubleshoot a specific FSX CTD scenario and was wondering if my current BufferPools setting of 2M could be causing this. The new system is freezing and then CTD as I approach ImagineSim's Atlanta scenery in either the PMDG MD-11 or 744X. I honestly don't think it's a endurance, heat, or OOM issue but does seem to happen in a repeatable fashion near this particular approach, but not always. This is using PMDG, REX-HD clouds, UTX, ST LC, GEX, FSG, ImagineSim KATL on the server and HiFi ASA, RC, and FSFK on the client via both Simconnect and WideFS pipes.I have been using 2M for the Bufferpools both before and after my i7 upgrade but now I wonder if …
