These are the only two that are really in my budget so getting something else is really not much of option. If you can find something for $600 or under let me know. Thanks guys.Matt

  3. Hello, my wife's computer is dead. Last week, it wasn't turning on - no power at all. I just replaced the PSU and it does power up but no beeps and nothing on the monitor. The monitor doesn't even recognize that it is hooked up to anything. I popped in a different video card and got the same result. It really doesn't seem like it is booting at all. This was the first time I ever installed a new PSU - I think I did it right. I wasn't sure about a couple connections but if I had a connector that fit an open plug, I plugged it in;) Yes, I did look at the mobo manual and I think I covered everything. Any ideas what the problem may be? It is an older computer so the mobo or CPU…

Which is more important for FSX? I'm looking at buying 2x4GB RAM modules for my upcoming Sandy Bridge system and I think I have two choices:1) Buy 2000MHz with CL9 and try to drop CL to 72) Buy 1600MHz with CL7 and overclock towards 2000MHzIt would be nice to know which is more important before I buy anything. If bandwidth is more important, it would probably be better to start with the 2000 MHz ram and try to drop the timings. If latency is more important, then I'll get the CL7 ram and try to increase the bandwidth.Right now, these two sets look pretty good:Corsair XMS3 8GB DDR3 2000 (9-10-9-27)Mushkin Ridgeback 8GB DDR3 1600 (7-8-7-24)

My problem is that I don`t really know much about RAM memory modules. When I got my new I7 computer it had 6 GB`s of some DDR3 RAM with, I think, 1066MHz.I decided to replace them with the recommended Mushkin redskin 1600 RAM.Now that I got it back, I see that they didn`t replace the RAM, but just put the new in there too, so I now have 12 GB of different RAM.Now to the question. Is that a good thing? If not, can I myself, with my almost complete absence of knowledge, just remove the old ones, and put the Mushkin RAM in the correct slots?Or do I have to change something in the bios too, to make it work?If anybody have the knowledge to guide me a little, I would really appre…

Hi Folks, Time has come to get a new computer and the one I'm looking at is an HP model with AMD Phenom II X 6 1090T processor and I would install a Nvidia GTX 460. I don't intend to overclock. How well do you think that would run FSX? I fly only in FTX areas (PNW, NRM, Australia) with Ezdok and some (easy on fps) payware aircraft (Carenado C185, T34, C172. A2A Cub etc). No other addons. Thanks Howard

I have just built a new system using the above graphics card, WIN 7 64BIT and find that it is not possible to run two screens as a wide desktop under WIN7. Software message says can still be done on XP. How useless is that?On the 747 the cockpit looks more like a C172 than a 747 with single screen.Kevin Kyle

Over time tweaking and adjusting I have seen dramatic changes in the performance of FSX. Given all that I was doing I never put together any correlations. Recently I had to re-install FSX. O.K., so Intel is coming out with their latest chip, and we get new mobo's, dedicated ram(?), and we have new videocards, and ssd's are getting better. Is there enough (20%?) performance enhancement to finally make fsx good?I have a q6600(not oc'd), 4gb ram, 9800gtx, and a 300gb velociraptor, and am hoping to get say 30 fps if I get a new system sometime in the next quarter.I was going to upgrade quite some time ago, but life got in the way, so perhaps now is the opportune time if there is such a thing.I am not looking at the fps as much as smoothness say in London or New York. EDIT- This is about FSX Acceleration.I prefer the ground textures and add-on photo sceneries to having autogen on. I feel I need scenery complexity maxed though, and in NYC I'm getting around 20 fps, which isn't very smooth. In the rain, it dips down to 14 fps. When I turn set scenery complexity to zero, the fps shoot up. What is lacking in my hardware that I can't achieve a smoother frame rate with scenery complexity maxed? Hi,I am wondering about upgrading my system. Today I use a AMD AM2 X2 with just 3GHz. I am asking you guys where I would get better performance for BOTH FS9.1 and FSX, when I would buy "CPU BOX AMD Phenom II X4 970 3.5GHz Sockel AM3 8MB Cache" for 180€or a"CPU BOX AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 3.3GHz Sockel AM3 9MB Total Cache" for 260€I know both are needing CPU clock speed. FSX is using more than one CPU core, FS9 is not using more than one.So, FS9 would showing better performance with 3.5GHz, FSX would use all 6 cores and would get better? Please dont tell me to change my system to intel. (Though would stay near 30-40 most of the time)My 9750 however got burned and won't work.So Tommorow i'm being shipped a Phenom II X4 920. I was wondering what i might expect in terms of performance with settings set in the medium-ish high setting.

I bought my first gaming PC from Cyberpower several weeks ago and started having memory page faults from the initial startup. After some discussion and troubleshooting with tech support the PC appears to have a bad memory dimm slot which will require a new motherboard. The PC is under warranty and Cyberpower will take care of all costs for repair and shipping. I have had desktop PCs from Gateway, HP and Dell and NEVER had a problem like this! Should I just return the PC and get my money back or have them do the warranty repair? Thanks for your help!Airbus
