Guys, you can see my specs below. Since buying the PMDG NGX, I have reinstalled it (as admin) and deleted and rebuilt my FSX.cfg file. My hard drives have been defraged using O&O Complete/Name (as per Nick N). So here is the issue, am I getting framerates as expected or should they be higher. NGX at Vancouver, FS Genesis, Ulitmate Terrain, REX2 clouds (at 1024), UT2 and WOAI traffic at 20%, Cars 12%, Boats 20%. All other settings per Nick N (so essentially most scenery on very high, draw distance 60nm, and I am getting anywhere from 15 to 24 FPS around the airport. I just flew from KGRR to KMKG with the open clouds weather addon, it gave me the exact weather we are having, broken clouds, thunderstorms in the distance, and some rain and wind, but once I view towards the sky FSX just becomes a stuttering mess. My specs are good, and so far weather is the only thing that has slowed FSX down so far. Anyone have any possible solutions, I'd certainly appreciate any help. Thanks.

I have been working on setting up FSX on my computer for a couple of months now. I have added REX2, GEX and UTX and am using ASE as my weather engine. I am now tweaking FSX to make it look and perform as good as possible. At the moment I have HT turned off on my I7 2600K CPU. Is this the best configuration for FSX or does it run better with HT turned on?

Friends, I would like to up my memory from 6 gigs to either 9 or 12. Could someone please give me a recomendation for a 1600 frequency memory set, that is available today and will work with this motherboard? Hi, I have finally got my FSX rig, I have started to build it... have the mobo installed etc. But I have no idea where to install the two fans that came with the Antec 300 into the MSI P67A-C45... I have seen 4 'Sys Fan *' connections on the motherboard but the connection I have from my fans is much bigger and has 4 slots for pins to go in... not the small three pin connections on the mobo.I have, however, found on the PSU that there is plug with the four pins that exactly match the Antec's system fans.... but there are other plugs on the wire and I generally have no idea what's what, basically. Any help here is fantastic, thank you :)

People,Yesterday I upgraded my system from an Intel Dual Core 3.0 ghz to an Athlon X3 445 3.1 Ghz on an AMD Chipset.I did an Overclock to around 3.7 Ghz stable and then I reverted back to my 3.1 Ghz and actually now I do not remember the settings. When I Oc'ed to 3.7 with other changes I got a tremendous boost in FPS from 20 fps to straight 40-60 fps and all high sets.So after I reverted back to 3.1 Ghz definitely FPS dropped quite low , then I went back to 3.7 ghz but as I do not remember my settings I am not getting those 40-60 fps.Now here is what is funny, I have installed NL-2000 scenery , here I don't get anything above 15-16 fps but when I fly at KLGA (NY) I get 17…

Yeah another odd title post from me... Everyday I come to these forums and find more and more SB users obtaining 4.8+ GHz overclocks with ease. And it's getting to me. I want more POWER! I want more SPEED! (it sucks to be human lol) Then I start looking over the guides and SB OC tips from the various sites... and I sink back into my shell of "4GHz is enough." There's a couple of things I wonder about re: why I can't get past 4GHz. RAM: Seems XMP profile1 is the only way to successfully boot into Win7 if I go with the factory specs on the ram (1866, 9-10-9-27 2T). I will be installing FSX onto my new computer this weekend - i5 2500k, gtx560TI. Very excited! Even with a higher end system though I'd still like to optimize my .cfg file for the best possible performance. I've applied many tweaks in the past from my old fs9 AMD 1.6 ghz days, and most recently my 2.4 ghz i5 laptop, but I don't remember them and I'm wondering which of those could benefit my new system. Obviously heavy tweaking is unnecessary, but I know there is a way to optimize the core's. I specifically remember downloading a file created by *******(?) that gave my laptop about a 20% increase in performance running FSX. If someone could steer me in the right direction …

Hello I'm in the early stages of something basically to run FSX. Not on max settings, but to get good quality out of payware scenery / aircraft while still keeping that 30fps. All I have secured is CPU: i5 2500k RAM: 8gb decent ram CASE: Coolermaster CM690 II Advanced I want to keep this around the $1000 mark as I'd still like to buy probably a TV to use as a monitor and a yoke, rudder pedals ect. I'd like to have Orbx Australia running while using aircraft from Carenado. Which is fairly demanding, but you can't really run at maximum settings without some expensive computer.
