tryin to squeeze some more juice in my 2600k......using Fatal1ty P67 Mobo. Right now, i'm [email protected] fixed voltage....but it seems my idle temp hovers at 40-45. how do you determine which offset to use to make use of the speed step so that my vcore wont always be at 1.40 and with much lower idle temps? just trial and error?

Hi,It's me again!I just mounted the noctua NH-D14....I re-attached every cable into it's place...but it fails to boot...There is a yellow LED which tells me that it receives power, I am sure about this because the NH-D14 and GPU start running . I noticed a red LED on the top right corner....This one is the MemOK! ( from what I saw on the manual ). It keeps flashing faster and faster, and then it stops.I tried to take out the ram modules and put them back in but sadly, I have no result..Can Anyone help?( Tell me if I didn't explain myself )Thanks...

Hello everyone! I just signed up here hoping to find some answers for my new pc... I have searched for 1 day all over the internet for possible builds and i am pretty confused from all the opinions and stuff i came across! Anyway, the build i have in mind its something like this: CPU: Core i7 2600K Sandy Bridge @ 3.4 GHz or my other idea was an Intel® Core™ i7-920 Processor @ 2.66 Ghz which is less expensive so...PSU: Nitrox 600WRAM: 4GB DDR3 1333MHZGPU: Nvidia GTX 460 or the Nvidia GTX 560 Ti ( i know that FSX needs more CPU than GPU so i would go for the 460....what you think?)Monitor: LG 19''HDD: 500GB Sata 3 Well as far as i remember this is what i have in mind! Hi, I am putting together my new system and am confused with the corsair H70 fan and pump connections and also the case fans and where to plug them in.The H70 and the H70 fans all have 3 pin connections and the case fans too, but they came with the 3 pin on top of an old type power adapter that I remember from way back, but cant remember what they call them. I remember seeing them for connections to the old hard drives. It doesnt seem like I can use the big connectors as my corsair 750w PS does not have that type nor is there that type of connection on the MB, so I guess I must use the 3 pin connectors on all of my fans. My MB is an ASUS P8Z68-V PRO LGA 1155 and the PS is…

Hello. I have just build my new system and attached a Corsair A70 coolor on the CPU which seems to work pretty good. I have got my i5 2500k overclocked at 4.5 GHz and - despite the computer standing a bit in the warm sun - I get a max temperature of 63°C at 100% CPU load. I am running the cooler with the stock fans with the resistance cable attached, so that they run at 1.600 rpm. 2.000 rpm are simply too loud, sounds like a lawn mower in my room. My questions is, if somebody can recommend a better set of 120mm fans for the coolor - it's possible to mount different fans - which are more efficient but a lot less noisy than the stock ones? On a side note, I am still using m…

Hi Guys, after a bit of advice. At this point in time I am running @ 4.6 GHz stable using an Offset of -0.035. This gives a core voltage of 1.312V. CIE and speedstep are enabled as is HT. I have noticed when using CPU-Z the core speed and core voltage fluctuate a fair bit when FSX is running. At cruise altitude it seems to settle and the VCore and core speed run at 4600 and 1.312 respectively. The FPS are set to unlimited and also do the same, that is fluctuate. Question :Are these two factors connected and would I be better off manually setting the VCore to 1.31V and disabling CIE and speedstep in the BIOS? Thanks in advance Andrew Dixon

Hey guys I've been reading over some of the overclocking sites out there so I can finally get going on that, as it is one of the few things I haven't really tried yet aside from the boost I did with EasyTune with little success. One thing they all make very clear is to have a good quality PSU, because a poor quality PSU has the potential to fail other hardware if it itself can't stand up to the OC. When I bought the parts for my computer, I just bought the cheapest PSU I could find that had the highest wattage. In my case, 750W's. I ignored all bad feedback on the product because I thought they all served one purpose anyway: to turn on the computer and keep it on. This is…

This is a PSU I ran across today in a NewEgg special. I like the way they handle the cables in that you can put in as many as you want instead of having them all bundled together and having to tie the extras off neatly. Or sometimes not so neatly. The thing is I only know of Rosewill from fans. So, any feedback on this unit? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182239 As a last note it also comes in an 800W version. Thanks in advance,Ed

  20. Hi all,Okay so nVidia has released it's latest 280.xx drivers. Over at the PMDG forums, users have reported that the new drivers have caused performance to almost half by installing these new drivers clean. After a little bit of research, it seems that nVidia drivers version 270.61 work best in FSX at the moment. So my advice is to head over to nVidia and download the 270.61 drivers for your card, run the installer, choose custom install. Tick the box for clean/fresh install and revert back to these drivers. Remember, you will have to redo inspector/control panel settings for FSX once you've done this.

  22. Hello Captains, I am finallý upgrading my system to a Sandy Bridge based setup. Any recomendations? Should I go for a Z68 board, or an i7 2600K? I don't mind paying extra cash if I can get appreciable performance, but I don't like spending money for a marginal performance increase. This rig will run FSX and (almost) nothing more. Thanks in advance, Jorge EDIT: Of course I intend to overclock …
