Hi again! I recently bought a Gigabyte Radeon HD 7750 for my PC and FS2004. But I am not quite satisfied with it; performance is average in my opinion. So, could anyone give me tips about a possibly better card performancewise in a $125 to $200 price range? My setup: Intel 3,4 GHZ, 4GB RAM, ASUS Motherboard PCIExpress. Grateful for tips. Thanks! Hello to all I/m trying to overclock the following system: SB 2700K NOCTUA NH-D14 2x4GiB GSkill Ares 1866 9-10-9-28 (currently @ 1600 11-11-11-28 while CPU OC tests) ASUSP8Z77-V LE PLUS I consider that system is stable @4.2Ghz - Vcore 1.280 with Prime95 for 14 hours. 1 click more at 4.3Ghz and BIOS Vcore 1.300 I still have Prime95 failing in less than 1 hour I find Vcore 1.300 @ 4.3 a bit high You can see my BIOS settings screenshots , realtemp and CPUz in Windows here (while Prime95) If you have any Ideas to help you 're welcome. P.S.: I know that FSX is not stressign CPU that much.

Hi Folks, I would like to get some opions on a new computer I picked up at Costco. The price is pretty good at $600 if it can do a fairly good job of running FSX. Here are the specs: AMD A10-5700 CPU AMD Radeon HD 7660D GPU 12 GB DDR3 RAM 2 TB Hard Drive I have been aware for a long time that Intel processors are better than AMD for FSX. However, if I can get 75% of the performance at this price, I will stick with it. I am currently running a home built system with a Core 2 Dou E7300 and an outdated Nvidia 8800GS GPU. Even with this, FSX performs pretty well. By pretty well I mean I am looking for 20+ FPS in PMDG 737NGX and FSDT KLAX (I consider these to b…

Hi everyone, Recently, my computer has been doing quite a lot of strange things. First, sometimes the computer will freeze on Google Chrome, and the freeze lasts about 5 seconds. After those 5 seconds, a small beep is heard from my speakers. What does this beep mean? I researched and it looks like my RAM is having problems, but I don't know. Secondly, my computer (sometimes) when I turn it on, will not even get into the BIOS screen and shut itself off, restarting by itself about 5 seconds later. What is this? And third, after having these weird problems, I went in to my BIOS and did a RAM test. It said my RAM was okay. Also, I went into my Overclocking section to see …

Hi guys, today I had a thought. Is it possible to replace a CPU and still have the same system information etc... but with a different CPU? If you don't understand what I mean... Like, will I still have everything, all my games FS stuff etc. Or will it all be erased when you change the CPU? Regards, Ciaran Andrews.

Quick question, is a third generation i5 processor plus a dedicated graphics card enough to run FSX with add-ons and reasonably realistic scenery plus ATC?

Hi, since I haven't received an email from Saitek support yet I'm asking you guys if someone may know what's going on. I purchased my rudder pedals in december last year and they were working fine. But suddenly since a few days it's impossible to taxi or stabilize the aircraft on takeoff. Looked in the device manager in windows to check the movement of the rudder and it seems like there's some strange kind of 'wobbling', the neutral position varies largely and there's a huge delay after putting them in neutral. I already tried reinstalling the drivers and calibrating them but nothing works. Also the fix with deleting the registry entries doesn't work. I spent over 100…

Guys and gals, the more I think and do research on it, the more I am inclined in going with XP10 for my home cockpit. But since I will be using 3 projectors and XP does not have an undockable windows feature like FSX does, then I am forced in building 2 more PCs so that I have 3 PCs for visuals. I already have a spare PC which will be used for the instruments. With this being said, I definitely can't afford to build 2 more systems like my current system. So this leads me to the topic in hand. I have come up with the following system: CPU: Intel i5-2400 | $205 Mobo: Asrock B75M-DGS | $55 GPU: PNY 660GTX 2GB (non Ti) | $205 HD: OC Agility 3 120GB SSD | $95 R…

After 4+ years of running my current rig, I have finally decided to build something new and make my FSX rig my work/internet box and retire my old Dell that I had been using for that purpose. So the other day I got a great combo deal on a new 2700K and Asus P8Z77-V Pro for a tad over $300 dollars. Now the question is, what RAM do I want to get for this setup? After some reading and searching, I've read that for that CPU I need RAM that runs at 1.5v and I have some confusion over what I need. Not knowing a lot about parts, I understand that the lowest CAS is the fastest and most desirable and from what I understand that mobo takes anywhere from 1333 and up, but anythin…

Hello, I recently got lenovo y560. I can swap CPU from my older HP laptop. Would you choose i3 M370 , or i5 M450 . Both are 2.4 ghz, i5 has 2.53 turbo boost. Looking at cpubenchmark, i3 has little higher performance. Would turbo boost help with fs9 since it runs on single core. Some people say that turbo is good, some that's not. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html , but at this page it also shows that i3 is faster in single core mode.... Thanks

Hi, I am currently trying to combine quality and performance while reducing the costs where i can, thus removing the chance of affording any of the i7 series of Intel CPU's, anyway i have a few preferences with manufacturers these include Intel, Corsair and Asus, below are my suggested set ups one is heavily budget oriented and one is a little looser on the wallet, plus im in the UK so its £ and expensive parts. Budget PC Intel I3 3220 @ 3.3Ghz Asus P8H77-M (OR) Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H Corsair XMS3 2x2Gb 1600mhz XFX 550w Core Series PSU Seagate Barracuda 500Gb 7200rpm HDD XFX 7850 DD 1GB (OR) EVGA GTX650 SC 2GB Coolermaster K280 Case Lite-on or …

I'm now looking at optimizing for XPlane 10 64-bit, but need something that will do real well w/ FSX too. Are 6-core CPUs the max # of cores that are available to run Windows on? How about dual-socket motherboards--any good CPUs for FSX that will go into those? They seem like they are for server applications. I understand w/ XPlane 10 64-bit the sim will utilize as many cores as you have, and even connect separate computers to leverage resources. So dual sockets each w/ 6 cores sounds hopeful.

My one day old 3770k is dead. I purchased the cpu, got it home and proceeded to "delid" it as per the many instructions here on the website and on Youtube. I used to be an A&P tech at an airline and have always been careful and deliberate with repairs-- from fixing the lawn mower to my computers. So I didn't just tear at the cpu like a hack.. The process was as follows. First I used a grounding strap on myself, then marked ultra thin razor blades so they would only go in just enough to penetrate the adhesive. I slowly started on each corner, then the sides. With the lid easily removed I noticed a nick near one of the top corners... and by nick it was the si…

I am researching my options for a new PC for FSX and would like some input. I have some PC hardware knowledge but have been out of the loop for some time. I am weighing the options of buying a new PC off the shelf (Dell XPS 8500) or building my own system. Here is what I have come up with for a possible DIY build. Hi I currently have 2x4 GB of Kingston DDR3 1600 999 24 memory in my Gigabyte z68 AP-D3 motherboard. I have just looked in the manual and I see it can run 2133Mhz maximum. At present speed is only showing 1300 mhz in CPUz. Is it worth upgrading and can anyone please recommend some good memory for FSX and what performance increase am I likely to get ? Thanks Paul

Hey guys, I am about to Upgrade my Computer to an ASUS X79 2011, that would also include a CPU change and a quad Chanel 4x4GB RAM (16GB total). needless to say this Computer is for FSX w/SP2 and extras of course Today I am running on X58 X5670 6 Core at 4.2Gh (over-clocked via bumping the Bus Speed to 175Mh, 175Mh x 24CPU Multi' = 4.2Gh). Over-clocking the Xeon 5670 is simple as all the LGA 1366. My FSX utilizes all my CPUs and on average all 6 Core are at 100% CPU for 75%-80% of the time when FSX is running (FSX.exe Process). that means My FSX is doing a good job using my CPUs. now here is my thing, I have two options in front of me as for the CPU. …

I was wondering from everyones expertice if it is possible to hook up my front audio jacks to my soundblaster 2 audiolgy soundcard. I notice it has a plug on top but I'm not sure what it is for and I can't seem to find a cord to plug into it from the front of my computer coming from the audio jacks. I 'm not sure if I should use both my soundblaster card and my onboard sound. What I want to do is seperate the sounds from one speaker to another. For examle I want atc and vatsim to come through my headset but all other aircraft sounds through my speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Anthony

I am looking to build another FSX pc using the i7 3930K. Ive been using ASUS Rampage series MB's for the last couple pc's and Im beginning to think Im overspending. While the OC utilities and cool running , etc is nice, I dont use most of the other features and Ive never been impressed with the USB stability. Anyhow, looking for suggestions to other ASUS MB's that will allow smooth OC to approx 4.8 with Corsair H100i water cooling.
