I am new to flight simulators, but not new to aviation. I've been in love with airplanes and aviation for a very, very long time. I have a Commercial license with an Instrument rating and have flown Cessna 172s and many of the the lighter, two-place aircraft such as J-3 Cubs, Aeronca Champs, to name a few. My computer is an HP wide-screen lap top outfitted with a CH yoke and CH rudder pedals. The aircraft I fly in FS 2004 for the most part are the Cub, Cessna-172, Lockheed Vega and the Mooney Bravo. Hi all, I have been doing some searching around. Can anyone make a suggestion on a good way to record movies of flights in FS9 so that they can be viewed in Windows Media Player or edited in Windows Movie MAker etc..I guess I need a basic movie capturing utility?

I have currently been experience crashes to desktop with my add-on laden FS9. I have done all the normal things I can think of like virus scans, adware scans, memtest's, etc.The odd thing about these occurances are that they only happen in certain spots of the world. Two such places I have identified are:A. Imaginesim KCVG....I go about my normal pretrip and enter everything into the FMS, do my preflight and as I am getting pushed off the gate and turning my packs off to start the engines the screen disappears to the desktop.B. Is there no visible trim wheel in the Mooney? I can see the indicator on the instrument panel, but no physical wheel in the virtual cockpit.I'm guessing that it must be electric trim worked from the switches on the yoke - but why no wheel? Even Airbuses and Boeings seem to have them.--Bryn

I have had email requests for my config file, so thought to post it here. I have toned down the weather setting on this file to HIGH for those that will have full-blown weather settings, bog down their machines. Also, please EDIT my line of asterisks on the SITUATION line, and replace them with your true computer user name. After that, just save the file as your FS9.cfg file. Just d/loaded the new Posky ERJ-145 and have a problem. When settingaltitude to climb, the aircraft will not stop at assigned altitude.Adjustments to set altitude have very very slow or no effect. I haveloaded several other panels other than the default Lear45 with nochange. What could be causing this problem? Is ther a bug in the new aircraft from Posky or is there a setting in the .cfg I can adjust? The does not happen at low altitudes (i.e. 9,000 ft).Any ideas???

This is a long story so I'll get to the point. Does someone have a "untouched" fs9 texure folder that the could winzip to me or infact or infact the whole flight sim file (untouched?) I like a fool never made a backup. Or..................Is there a way a person could install flightsim on "D" drive? Help someone? Tim :-)

Can someone tell me how they are tuning the NAV radios on the default 2D panel that downloads with this great little model? I can get the numbers to change color, but I can't figure out how to actually change the frequencies.(I know I should ask this on their support site, but I hate to ask anyone over on the POSKY site anything -- I searched the POSKY forums and checked the documentation, but I couldn't find anything, and it seems you often take a 50/50 chance of getting a smart a$$ answer over there.)Thanks in advance to the group.

Hey i just got new mbp with new intel chip it is the low end 15 inch mbp. It has 2gb ram 2.2ghz intel chip GeForce 8600M GT with 128mb graphics card. Do you think i can run well around 30 frame rates with bootcamp?

I have been using fs9 for years and tweaked it about as much anyone could. I recently replaced my old hard drive with a 7200 rpm SATA and had to reinstall fs9 and the OS from scratch all that was fine except now I have an issue that I cannot work out. (see my specs below).After a clean install and my other addons sitting at KSEA with NO AI traffic loaded my frame rate (7 to 30 with PMDG 737) not only is lower than my old system (stable at about 23) with AI but now its bouncing wildly from 7 to about 30 and if I try and take off it bounces and stutters so bad its not flyable. When I try it from an airport with no add on scenery the frame rates are high however they still b…

Just recently I have when starting FSM ,SmartSound Quicktrack Plugin tries to load, I have cleaned every mention of it but it still shows, I reinstalled FSM and only get fs 2004 Novice Mode, instead of FS9 Expert Mode, anyone with a solution please;(

Hi, I have a question with Ultimate Terrain. I have GE Pro on my system and love the textures, If I purchase Ultimate Terrain for USA and Canada/Alaska, will my GE Pro textures go away? Will it just overwrite my GE Pro textures? Which is better Ge Pro or UT?Thanks,Bill

My laptop FS9 default Kai Tak has just started showing runway lights at dusk. I was SO surprised to see them that I had to double check that it was KT I was about to land at!! I'd like to add them to my desktop FS9 & suppose that pasting the KT file will do the trick. Question: where are the airport files kept? I assume they're in Addon Scenery/scenery but I'm not sure so I'd be grateful for someone to confirm where airport files are kept. Thanks, TW

The only thing really that i like about fsx compared to fs9 is the dynamic camera motions. Is there any way i could put the dynamic camera into fs9?

hi all, I wish I could post this message on the aerosoft forum but after 3 days of waiting they still have not bothered to send me my login access so I am left to try this forum to see if I can get some answers to the problem I have with this scenery....it seems that i for whatever reason cannot run it as administrator as when I right click on the properties tab on the setup.exe file and then click on the compatibility tab the box marked run as administrator is greyed out and will not let me tick it off....why is this happening? are there other users of vista out there who are having the same problem with this scenery? I have nevr had any problems with any other aero…
