Captains,I like to know how many of you like for example flying the Jets with the CIVA INS ? Like the RFP with it instead of the -400 with a FMC and all glass cockpit ?Of course it is much easier to fly one of the PMDG aircraft, and it has a learning curve of its own, but when passing that, it is boring in my opinion, not much to do, all going automatic more or less. Altough the PMDG aircraft are state of the art.The GA people of course know what I mean, but this little survey is about the passenger transports, the heavy jets.. and or smaller exemplars.With flying the RFP with the CIVA INS for example gives one enough to do, checking it all, manual updating positions, man…

So now that ATA is done how should I update my KMDW AFCAD? Just delete the ATA parking spots? Is any airline taking over their spots? Any Chicago experts out there? I fly there with Southwest all the time and would like to have the most accurate layout.Thanks,Scott

When planning a flight, let's suppose you used Active Sky to depict weather, how do you know how much fuel are you gonna use during flight if you experience crosswinds, tailwinds or headwinds??Please try to make a general answer: avoid saying "I just program it in the FMS of my 30 US$-shareware-aircraft" ... I mean, I do have a little knowledge about scheduling the fuel burn because mostly, I use freeware add-ons besides FsNav, A.S and FsPassengers.Thank you so much for answering,fly7

Hi all,I was flying around the Florida Keys the last couple evenings. I noticed the AI was sparse but just figured that there wasn't much going on down there, a few cessnas here and there was all. But last night I took off from Providenciales toward St. Maartin and there was a wave of planes coming at me, all around FL300 and all on the same heading. There must have been 20 jets, and ATC would not stop talking at them to listen to me. It looked like a swarm of B-52's on a bombing mission! The AI radar was packed and there was that wave, I have never seen such strangeness. Have you?

I feel stupid that I can't get this simple thing to work right: I went into Settings-International and set Units of Measure to "Metric (altimeter in feet)" but my panel still gives me readings in IOM. Maddening when Radar Contact v4.0 gives the correct readings in millibars. I'm flying in South America, Africa, and Europe when it happens.Does this only work in certain panels, programmed to do so? I tried the default A/C too, but no joy -- I thought this was pretty SOP.EDIT: Could FSPassengers be interfering in some way?Thanks folks!

Does anyone out there use friendly panels?If so I have a few questionshow versatile are they ,they seem easy enough to install but how do they handle when installed into Posky or Overland aircraft?Is the FMC any good ,I understand it utilises FS9 flight plans ,but do LNAV and VNAV work or are they just Inop buttonsFinally what aircraft have you had success with installing?I should say that Im looking at the 747 Panel though i presume that all their panels would work pretty much the same Thanks for any insights or advice you may haveMark

Hi folks,I've got a small issue with the PSS 777.Whenever I disconnect the AP with the disconnect bar, the master caution switch is illuminated with an aural warning, the EICAS displays says "AP disconnect" (or similar) in red...Is this correct? I also tried to disconnect the AP by pressing 'Z' but this didn't work either.Regards,

...does it exist?I'm searching for addons improving the FS9 graphic effects, textures, adding realism and atmosphere, etc. etc. I'm currently using Real Environment Pro, F1 View, Airport environment upgrade and FSUIPC.I would be happy for any help!

When I hit the W key to turn the main panel off, my verticle speed indicator is frequently missing from the basic instruments displayed along the bottom of the screen. This did not happen in the past! Has anyone any ideas why and how I could correct this? Many thanks for any help.Bill

Hi All,Climbing out of Berlin Tegel yesterday on a grey damp day, we punched through the overcast cloud to the wonderful sights of being in between antoher cloud layer and seeing only cloud above and beyond, amazing sights.Then continued to climb to punch through the final overcat layer to brilliant sunshine and a blanket of white below with some light cirrus on high. Amazing sights and feeling.How can this be mimicked in FS2004? I have AS6.5 and no matter how hard I try with visibility limits and the like, always seem to be able to see the ground....Any help to replicate something similar to my RW journey?Thanks,Graham

Hi to all simmers!I have recently downloaded one of the POSKY B757's (an AA one...) and tried to use it with Lonny Payne's panel. I first installed a) original version (1.1) and then :( the POSKY+FS2004 update covered in the file lp757pos.zip; following the instructions. It's interesting because if I choose one of the upper list, it saves the setting but shows as if I had selected it from the lower list.I tried reinstalling FS and my graphics card driver without any result.It also causes some problems (black line appears on some panels) which wasn't the case with the 'normal' list.Any ideas how to solve this?Thank you,Rob

When using FS9 I have been plagued with system crashes (lockups) when using it. While I have using PMDG lately and seen the lockups while using it, I don't know where to start. I was not running any other programs this time (whereas before I had netscape and email in the background) and not flying over any photo scenery which I have.If I do a reinstall of FS9, do I just backup my scenery add-on file? Or should I just set one or two files to default (I have a full backup)?It is no use copying thousands of files when it may be just a couple.Since I deleted my scenery.cfg file (which I thought was responsible for my lockups (it may be VOZ scenery and switcher which may be ca…

Having been unwillingly dragged into using an LCD monitor (my CRT died, and try finding a good new CRT monitor these days) I'm having to tweak all my games for best image quality again.FS9 is looking a bit washed out, and too bright at night. Is there any way to tweak overall gamma or brightness for FS9, and FS9 only? I'd much rather not change that setting globally (via vidcard drivers), since that will mess up other applications that look OK. Almost every other sim or game I have has the ability to adjust gamma independently, so you can set it how you like it without disrupting anything else. But I guess that's not Microsoft's way.A google search for FS9 and gamma …

I have a p4 2.8 ghz 800mhz machine with 1.5 gig ram, and a radeon 1300 128gb harddrive and windows xp pro thats 4-5 years old. I have all updates including the sim update video card drivers pretty much everything. When i fly the pmdg 737 out of big airports like seattle and smaller ones ocassionaly my framerates gets pretty high and then when i fly for about 10 minutes or return to the airport they drop down to 6-7 frames and it stays like that for the rest of the time. This happens with all my sliders all the way up and even all the way down This is very frustarting PLZ HELP.
