found what appears to be a very interesting and helpful gauge,but I've never installed one so I'm pretty lost.The gauge is called Terravue by Greg Copeland,and it does come with very detailed instructions and a tutorial.However,since I'm all thumbs with computer lingo,I'm having a heck of a time getting it to work.I sent an e-mail to Mr. Copeland asking if he could send me an image of how the panel.cfg should look after placing it there,but he has not replied. I hope that maybe someone that has this gauge can reply,or at least guide me through the correct steps.I thought I was careful when adding all the information to the Cessna 172 panel cfg file,but apparently somethin…

Hi,Quick question: I've installed a LOT of AI recently and I have noticed that some repaints did not include a lightmap texture...So, do all the individual aircraft texture folders need to contain this or can I put a copy of each one in the main FS2004/texture folder and then the ones without thir own will read it from there?If not, is there an automated way of finding out which planes are missing their textures? Can FlightSimManager do this?Cheers,Geoff

Guys,As usual FT/Wilco suck when it comes to support (Oh well I love their products nonetheless). I prefer to ask for Avsim people's support as most of the things I ever needed I found them here.I have this problem with the A330/340 that as soon as I noticed my FS running low on FPS I went to check the CPU usage and it was and always is at 100% when I use these Airbuses. I don't have the same problem with V1, so this really puzzles me even more.Does anyone else have the problem and figured a solution to this.ThanksLeo

Please help me with this...I've been trying to get it right for about two weeks now, its starting to drive me nuts. Hi everyone.Do any of you know of a free or pay ware Cessna single that implements a complete gear simulation. What that means is to have the ability to test the lights, warning devices etc. Some of the earlier 210s had an odd system, but maybe one of the later models, like 172-82RG from 74 on may exist?The MS ones do a good job on MP, Flaps but unable to test warning device, lights on the ground. Or am I am missing something? Thanks. TV

HelloI have been trying the new POSKY 747ver4 models and as usual with Poskies they are really very good BUT! here's my query i have three of the new models they each have the same panel and the textures have been changed to DXT3(except fuselage)The planes are KLM cargo,Saudi Arabia (Passenger model) and Cathay Pacific(passenger model)The problem is this when i change from 2D panel view to Virtual cockpit view (no actual VC)in both the passenger models there is a really big lag of about three seconds before the VC view shows or is movable (freeze)(unacceptable to me)but the KLM cargo model changes instantly and is fine.Has anybody else noticed this and is there anything …

I have so many different smoke effects files in my Effects folder that I don't know what is what. Currently on most of my turbine powered aircraft, the smoke initiates on start up and lasts a good minute or so.What I'm after is what the default 737-400 has, which is a small puff upon ignition, and it's gone. Looking in the aircfg file, it does not list this startup smoke effect. Just Wake, Water, Dirt, Concrete and Touchdown.My questions are: 1. Where is the smoke effect listed?2. Can someone specifically recommend the type of effect I'm looking for in the library? There are scores of smoke effect programs in the library. I'm just looking for one that will produce a short…

I'm designing an air force base and after tagging an ai parking spot for a C-5A cargo plane, a C-17 ai of mine was parked in those spots. Even though the tag for the aircraft type said 'C5A M003'.I'm curious on how to make the parking be specific to the plane i want there. Same goes for the fighter plane spots. I'll have one tagged for F-18's and F-16's will be there mixed in with the F-18s'.

i have a problem with the rivers in fs9. the problem is there are none. at high altitudes i can see them from a distance but when i get closer they disappear. i recently uninstalled ultimate terrain and this is when the problem started. i tried reinstalling it but it still doesn't work. i don't want to delete fs9 and start from scratch because i have lots of addons and dont want to go through reinstalling everything again. is there some way that i can just get the rivers back? everything else works fine.

Hi I have a problem with some of the engine sounds in flight sim or i think its just FS as i havnt noticed it in other games , what i get is some back ground crackle etc though the head set.. i dont get it with the default A/C , for example .. when i advance the throttles i can hear the engine spool up but i also get the crackle as well , its very annoying . My sound card is a creative labs 5.1 live and theres no conflicts with IRQs etc .. both the sound card and Graphics card are on there own IRQ. Im gonna try some desk top speakers and see if i get it with that as well , my be i have blown my head set speakers some how . Any ideas ? Thanks Rich

Is there a way or a file that you can download that shows trails coming off your wings? I know you can have different contrails, but I've seen on youtube of aircraft on fs9 with trails coming off the wing.What would be good if you get it when it rains or when there is alot of moisture in the there.Cheers

Hi, just want a second opinion on the proper,or say, preferred method of installing some popular addons, and I know there are several. I have these addons after FS9 of course :FS Terrain, Flight Environment 3, Ultimate Traffic, Ultimate Terrain and World Airports 2. I also have AS 6.5 and GE Pro to compliment the already mentioned FE 3 that resides on my PC now! Don't think that's any problem.All I can say is...I did my homework before spending that cash. I had them for about 2 yrs. now, maybe less. Love that AS6.5 ! Had some issues with World Airports 2, maybe FS Terrain as well, not really sure. Hello!I know I asked about this a long time ago, butnow it occurred again.For some reason my headings reading in the sim starts togive incorrect readings.I normally/usually get 321 degreees at KORD RWY 32L.Now it gives 320 degrees.Similarly at KLAX I habitually get 69 degrees at RWY 7L;now I get 83 degrees.I checked all AFCAD2's; they are OK and in Addon/Scenery folder.So, what can be wrong this time?Any clue will certainly be of help.Thanks beforehand.Hans HermanssonSweden

Not sure if there is a file to correct this but when I am at cruise level and flying straight, when I go to spot view, my plane still looks as if it's still climbing. Basically it's not level with the horizon.Is this a common problem or is it just me??Thanks

Been using sims for way too many years, know about resetting time by a few minutes to cause FS to reload traffic, etc. Know about closest and longest runways. But today, this has me stumped.Got Blueprint's new KMEM scenery, and was adjusting the AFCAD to my liking. Had FS in slew mode while working on the AFCAD, then noticed about 40 -50 a/c waiting to takeoff from r/w 27. The winds were shown as 350 @ 0. Restarted FS, made winds 340@8, then waited. Again, all a/c started to taxi to r/w 27, as well as incoming a/c. Instead of using the triple 18/36's, which are closer to the wind, and also longer than 9/27, they continue to migrate to 27.Just wanted to know the in order w…

Hi thereI downloaded Bill Lyons great little PA22 TriPacer but cannot detect any sound when operating the flaps. The sound.cfg file includes the following entry:[FLAPS]filename=pa22_flapHowever, the wave sound file pa22_flap is not included in the Sound folder.I have tried installing a flaps wave sound file from another aircraft but still no audible sound when I operate the flaps.I even tried replacing the whole Sound folder with another from a similar size aircraft but still no sound when I operate the flaps.Any ideas ?trevorbee in Auckland NZ
