Hi there. I just did a flight from GRU-BGI and in the first 3hrs of the flight i ran into some heavy turbulence and thunderstorms. I tried tried to change course to avoid the avil shape clouds and all of a sudden i start to lose airspeed. I was cruising at FL340 @ mach 0.78 and loss airspeed down to 0.66 with a 10 degree nose up pitch, #####. The winds were not strong and didn't even had headwinds. I know some others encountered this weird phenomenon but how do i fix it. Another thing too, the aircraft banked to the right more than 45 degrees out of limits and crash.I seems to happen to anyone with Activesky and is the first time for it to happen to me . Been having a nightmare lately with some G2D.dll crashes. My current set of problems began with OOM errors, and then progressed to and fe.dll error, and now has become strictly g2d.dll errors. I've tried everything I can think of and now I'm going to try and install all of my original fs2004 textures files. I know they're on the FS2004 CD4, all in separate folders, etc.... but does anyone have an idea of how I may do this faster than going through all that trouble? I recently bought an Asus 1005PE netbook. It now has Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and I've installed FS9. However, due to processor and RAM limitations (Intel Atom N450 and 2GB RAM), I want to disable all processes and startup items that do not benefit FS9.The best program I have found to do that is a free one called AlacrityPC as it permits you to close the startup items and processes you don't need and restart them afterward without rebooting. It comes in a 32-bit and 64-bit versions and works fine with Vista and Win7. However, I still need to find a list of essential processes and startup items for FS9 to operate well.Has anyone seen such a list? ----------------…

I'm ready to make a purchase, but I'm torn between what seems like two fine products (the two mentioned in the subject line, of course).I'm hoping that some AVSIM members who have experience with both or either addons will jump into this thread and offer opinions, pros and cons, etc.I look forward to reading the responses... thank you!

I've known for some time that my FS9 needs a makeover. I think I'm sold on Ground Environment Pro for the ground, but I'm undecided about the sky.Between REX and FE, most posters come down on the side of REX. Fine so far. But I have a couple of special considerations that could lead me the other way. First, (IMO) brilliant, glowing white cumulus clouds seen from above are one of the most prettiest sights in aviation, and I'd love to see that in FS9. The default FS9 hasn't shown me anything at all. Another of FS9's shortcomings is its display of a sharp division between ground and sky when up in the flight levels -- pretty unrealistic unless the visibility is > 50…

Hello there!Something really weard is going on here in the past few days. I've never had any kind of problem with my system and FS. Many friends comes to me complaining about their usual problems and I luckly never had any. Until now. My computer is shuting down with any reason in some situations. I notice this problem with two sceneries. I don't know if it's just the tip of the iceberg for what but that's the fact. I've recently been flying the Pacific/Orient and have discovered a problem. Whenever I depart either Guam or Saipan, FS9 crashes (goes black then the "stopped" message) somewhere around 17k-21,000 feet and climbing out. The culprit shows to be NTDLL.dll. This area of the world seems to be the only place this is happening (thank goodness) and I assume it's a scenery issue. Any idea on how to fix it without doing a complete reinstall?

Hi: I am having the following problem with the "slew" function...Whenever I hit "Y" to enter slew mode, the aircraft goes crazy and starts moving at warp speed; so much so that I end up far away from the original spot before I can stop it...Really annoying...Is there a way to adjust something so this doesn't happen? Hi all...I have an add in plane PSS Dash 300 which is great. Trouble is when I load it it makes FS9 stutter every 2-3 seconds. I have tried the following:1. Made a new panel aliasing another panel - this solved the problem - so the problem must be in aircraft panel2. I REM'd each gauge in the Panel.cfg to isolate any problem gauges - did not solve problem3. Changed my textures to DXT3 - did no solve problem4. I am using an older version of FSUIPC 3.72 I thinkAny ideas what more I can do to try and solve this ? I have good 30 FPS on my system used but it drops 7 FPS in stutter.Thanks...JB

Can anyone point me to some decent coastline and lake shore fixes for South America (Brasil, at least) than those awful FS9 default ones? Payware or free ware, I don't really care -- kind of like Ultimate Terrain does for North America and Europe? I've done some searches here for 'Terrain' and 'Coastline" but I don't think I'm using the right key words.Thanks, folks!

Hi thereI was wondering if there is anyway of changing the the aircraft.cfg file so that it would make third party aircraft like, POSKY and PA into an AI suitable aircraft? This is not Flightsim related but its bothering me and maybe someone here knows what this is. I was entering some Numbers on an excel spreadsheet and Whenever I enter 07-8569 It turns it into Jul-69 ignoring the excel format. Does anybody here know what this is all about? :(

There seem to be very few helicopters that are specifically designed as AI aircraft with multi-LOD etc. I use the Flight1 Heli Traffic program which is an awesome add-on for FS9 and adds a whole new dimension to the sim. But a lot of the choppers I use are not designed for AI and can cause some hefty FPS hits. Most of what I use are standard aircraft that I have tweaked for AI by converting textures to DXT3, getting rid of VC textures, panels, sounds etc and work okay but would love to have more that are specifically designed for AI.I have tried the library on AVSIM and also Hovercontrol and MAIW. I have found a few but not many. Any suggestions of what to look for and wh…

I have a quick question about enabling multiple meshes and how meshes work in fs9-Let's say that I have a mesh scenery that covers the entire world- am I then able to put a higher resolution, local mesh on top of that, such as the HSP greece mesh, and still have everything work properly, or will I get CTD's?Does fs9 have a problem with meshes overlapping like this, or will it just go with the one that has the highest priority?thanks

Hi Folks, I am an almost 73 year old flight simmer, who needs some HELP. I am have been using FS9 for many years. In fact I started simming with PRO PILOT '99. I have never had this problem before. When I am flying, I get Bloches of various color in the scenery, which comes and goes. Sometime these colors are in a pattern, dashes or dots, (yellow, red, green, orange, blue), they are four to six colums wide and eight rows high. In the cockpit I get regular patterns of these dots on the screen. I have uninstalled and installed FS9 twice, to no avale. I have run several tests on my graphic card and this passed. I love to sim, but this driving me crazyyy. Any help would be ap…

Hi ya all,I just bought the Amsterdam Schiphol X for fs9.I now have a problem with the ground texture's.......? It sinks when low on ground and also instead of tarmac taxiway's is more grass like.I have nothing else installed (area Netherlands) also no more afcad's of EHAM.Help advised....L.Jim
