Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

I have a pretty high end system but have run into to crash to desktops when flying into the LA area with decent amount of traffic on pilotedge. What are some recommended settings that I can use to avoid that? I was full right on my sliders but realize that isn't realistic with traffic. My specs are below. Thanks!! Hello all, does anyone get CTD every once in a while in P3D v4? I just tried the PMDG 777 and mid-way thru climb it just happily exited. I know it's not a PMDG problem as it has happened to me with TFDI 717 as well. I use chaseplane as my view manager but not sure if this is an issue. There is nothing being saved in Window's 10 event viewer which is a shame. I have just now enabled P3D error logging which will hopefully give me some clues. I would say the rate of CTDs is roughly in the 20% range. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance PLEASE DISREGARD!!!!!!!!.

Whilst on approach to Madrid I seem to get a sudden CTD. Always happens when relatively close to the airport so makes me think some kind of landclass/mesh issue? I do have FSGlobal2010 installed and OSM World W Europe. The instance I just had was a southerly heading on the ORBIS1C arrival for 32L, just NW of the field at the time. It happens at various times of the day too. Not an AI issue as I have checked each folder extensively. Any ideas? I believe this has happened to people before at Madrid. Hey guys, Sean here with another problem, I used to do only short-ish haul flights inFSX but now I have started doing longer flights such as Heathrow to Dubai. When approaching Dubai however I hear what I can assume is an FSUIPC noise but it sounds like a windows error noise and then the OOM error appears. This is really starting to annoy me now as it seems to happen every time after a six and a half hour flight. I have FlyTampa Dubai Rebooted installed but I used to be able to fly there no problem and this has started to occur recently. Hi, I have a strange problem as of lately: Whenever I end a flight and then wait for the display so I can close the simulator, I get the message on top "Flight Simulator not responding". The message appears as soon as I press the "X" to close the simulator. Most of the time I also get a window "a error has caused the simulator to stop working and it must be shut down". After this occurs, I can not restart the simulator, but must reboot the computer and then I can start the simulator again. There are also many .mdmp files generated in the FSX root directory. Whenever I create and install a new livery in PMDG 737NGX for Prepar3d V4 THen start the sim and select that livery, It causes an immediate CTD. All liveries do this. . .

good morning all yesterday i was flying on vatsim well. i use WOAI traffic for flying offline and i use ivao mtl as model matching for vatsim. before i fly yesterday i set the traffic sliders to 0 (as i will fly on vatsim no need for offline traffic) my sim crashed in route . i ve searched in the forum for solution then you guys said set the traffic to 0 and the problem will be solved. but its already on zero.so idk why it crashed the weird thing that there was no anybody flying on vatsim there were no any traffic.and it crashed .how do i solve the problem should i set the traffic to 0 in vpilot? this is my facebook if anyone want to message me private …

I've a strange one. My FSX will display an OOM while on pause. I've tried multiple scenery/airplane configurations with the same results. Unfortunately I don't recall what has changed (a side effect of being old). Hoping Jim or someone else knows of an approach to fix.

This has happened before where I would be on a 15nm final for Toronto and Prepar3D v4 would freeze up and crash. I try to look in every tab I can under the event viewer but I can't find anything about it. It hurts the most after a 7:45 long flight and finally, as I'm coming in to final, I have to tell ATC the sim is crashing, only to reload the plane and the save is unrecoverable, missing the thing I was looking forward to the entire flight, landing. Once when this happened before, I had to reload the airplane 4 different times before I had to give up on landing. Another time this happened was when I zoomed in on CYYZ and the sim crashed. Hi All, I have just developed a new problem with FSX. I have just updated my graphics driver and now i have an issue when i load FSX. When i click on any menu item or "change aircraft" etc. the screen freezes! The strange thing though is that the game itself isn't actually freezing? When i CTRL ALT DEL, it momentarily shows the menu i have chosen but then when i open task manager it goes back to the frozen screen again? I have tried to re-boot the computer to see if its a momentary glitch but it keeps happening. Hi everyone ! I just bought P3D v4 Academic, and i have to say that im quite desperate by now.... i tried everything i could find in the internet. the problem ist that whenever i start P3D the loading screen appears, and after a couple of seconds it just dissapears. I can see P3D.exe running in the Task manager for the same amount of time as i can see the P3D loading screen. Hi all, The past two days I've been dealing with an especially frustrating issue. Whenever my game loads, it has been loading in on the settings page in FSX. I go to select free flight and the Trike Ultralight does about half a turn and then suddenly my entire computer locks up. I can still click around and if I click the "esc" on FSX I can hear the click it is supposed to make. So it seems like its a video problem. I've deleted the logbook.bin, the fsx.cfg, updated the video driver and audio driver, and played around with my Nvidia Inspector settings (set them back to default). Hello, I have a persistent problem with P3DV4 loading (ceasing to render the sim, going to the initial loading screen with the background sound of the aeroplane playing) whilst in cruise. Seems to get stuck at the 29% loading phase, which is the AI traffic section if that assists in any way. So far I have only had it occur with the PMDG 747, but I have not used any other aircraft to know if it is particular to that model. Anyone have any suggestions on how to rectify? Thanks!

Hi everyone, This community is pretty much my last resort. I have been getting CTD's since last night after installing Steve's freeware DX10 fix. After enchanging a couple of emails, Steve assured me that the CTD's have nothing to do with installing the fix and that the timing of the first CTD was purely coincidental. He sent me the link to the (very impressive) CTD guide. I tried all the relevant options from the "How to fix most CTD's" section. Because neither of them had any succes. AppCrashView tells me that the failing module is ntdll.dll. So I moved to on the more hardcore solutions like replacing the UIAutomationCore.dll. As you can guess, …

I may be a little late to the party, however I am still having trouble with a Fatal Error on startup. I applied the uiautomation.dll to the main FSX folder however the problem has not been remedied. Any ideas on where to go from here? Jacob

P3DV4 is causing me headaches with stack hash errors. Stack Hash 9397,1211,f1lf,121f,4320. 9397 and 4320 come up a lot. What can be causing these? Jim

my computer stats should e listed in my signature. Today I added the Steam hd Los Angeles scenery too. and it crashed with an out of memory error 5 times. on approach to Santa Barbara at night with Alabeo 310 LITE -small spot view open on monitor 2 and only the Flight 1 gtn 750 open on monitor 3. monitor 1 of course was the vc straight ahead view. buzzing around in Robinson helicopter crossing over the Queen mary / long beach at fl 020 etc. while troubleshooting I applied the FSX Steam tweaks as listed here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=359111682 rebooted with each new tweak.. For the past few weeks I've been getting the random ntdll.dll crash, but it would happen only if I started clicking around while P3D loaded. Now, it does it whenever I try to load in. -Tried using FSDT Live Update (normally fixes everything) -Updated Drivers -PC is not overheating, checked the temps and they looked normal. -Tried removing dll.xml I cannot figure this out for the life of me, anyone got anything that could help? I have flown P3Dv4 for a total of about 20 hours without issue and I had a sudden PC crash to blue screen while on the ground at FB KSFO the other night. I had only done a quick takeoff and approach in the PMDG 777 and was taxiing in when it occurred. I did not catch the error message on the blue screen though.
