Just letting our faithful review readers know that I'm away on holidays for a bit, so there wont be any reviews published for a few of weeks. The review staff are still busy finishing what's on their plate and I'll be more than busy publishing when I get back.Sorry for the delay (I need a break).

I purchased the download FS9 version last February and really like the aircraft. The majority of comments made in the Avsim Review are accurate; however, I have noted some gauge, scenery and model issues and have reported them to First Class Simulations. Here are the gauge issues I reported:1. The large hand on the RPM gauge in the 2D panel is missing.2. The Artificial Horizon in the VC is reversed. The gauge indicates I'm descending when the plane actually is gaining altitude.3. The landing gear indicator in the VC does not function. There are no lights to indicate the status of the gear.4. The oil pressure gauge in the VC has a flashing texture. It flickers throu…

In your review of FS2Crew for the Leonardo Maddog you have "FS9" under "Simulation type". That is correct, of course, but it is worth mentioning that both FS2Crew and the Maddog itself are actually two-in-one products - they work with both FS9 and FSX (your license is valid for both platforms). It is just a matter of choosing either FS9 or FSX at install time.FS2Crew for the FSX Maddog is identical to the FS9 version, so what you wrote in your review applies to the FS9 version also.

Great review and very fair, I thought. I have this and even I learned a something new! I didnt realise the railway crossings were animated! As far as some people having a lack of AI is concerned, it appears so far at least that this has been resolved. The soulution is on the Aerosoft forums so I wont repeat it here. suffice to say it worked 100% with my UT2 instalation. All in all, a very accurate and well written review.

  6. hi,I nearly had a heart attack when I read that Angelique uses a Michelin map for VFR flying. It is a crime!!! I recommend using real sectional charts, like any real world pilot. Please visit the Skyvector website!!! It is free and you can avoid this: :( "What I completely forgot was to check the maps for the correct cruising altitude. It

In my honest opinion, this is quite a poor review.Mainly because it is clear that the reviewer does not correctly understand A320 operating philosophies. In her 1st flight test, she makes clear references to thinking that the pitch of the aircraft is being controlled with reference to Vertical Speed (VS) and that the A/T should be referenced to IAS. This is absolutely not how any A32X aircraft is flown in real life, or in the Airsimmer model. When Angelique engaged the throttle into the TOGA detent (assuming she did in fact do this correctly), the airbus will have set a reference N1 thrust which will have been maintained. When instructed on the PFD, Angelique should have p…

Hello there,As an Airport GPS user (of the FS9 version), there are a couple of things I'd like to comment on. This is no "attack" on the review, simply a different perspective. Although there have been some definite (cosmetic) improvements, many of the updates have been bug fixes. See this thread for example, that was a particularly nasty bug... I assume you're talking about the default ATC. I think this addon actually appeals more to people who don't use the default ATC and its progressive taxi guidance. For example, those who use Radar Contact. RCv4 does not offer taxi instructions. (I believe v5 will.) That's why I got this addon, to fill the gap. When it works, it w…

Great article by Angelique on the German Flight Sim Conference. Lots of detail, plenty of pictures, good coverage of everything that we like - plane spotting, flights, museums, old airplanes... Very enjoyable to read, as usual. Just one thing - no "Oops"! That's bad! :( Thank you very much, Angelique.Best regards.Luis

The author of the 767 Systems book has taken the time to write and publish a company response to Angelique.... "I've made it abundantly clear that the reply is by no means an attack on either AVSIM or Angelique and I hope this is something you understand and can convey should you be asked about it."http://lrops.com/blog/

  12. A very interesting and illustrative review. It is always interesting to compare the default or replacement generic textures with the real thing. Here are a few small images of Paris taken from the air (by the way, it is illegal to fly over Paris):Obviously, generic textures of any kind do not re-create that appearance, yet the default seem to come closer as far as building type and density are concerned. The major differences are only the roof color that should not be red, but slate, and vegetation that does not particularly stand out since it is lower than the buildings.Best regards.Luis

Lovely review, well illustrated, and nicely written. If I hadn't bought the C185 already, this review would have helped me to make that decision (as many avsim reviews over the past few years have helped me, thanks to you all for taking the time and publisheing them!)Just to add that Carenado is of course doing a float version... as an expansion pack, like they did with the C206 package...Some interesting previews are available, I think in the Carenado support forum here on avsim...Andrew

I have a question on this review. It states that the FADEC functionality is modeled but it never really says how it is modeled. I know how it works in real life but am unsure what it means in this particular sim. Thanks.John

http://www.avsim.com/pages/0310/SibWings/O1.htmI'm not a real pilot, but I'm more than astonished how controverse this plane's flight dynamics are discussed between flightsimmers and especially real pilots. In this review we read "Realistic and accurate flight dynamics", except a remark for "spins" while in other forums including Sibwings we read totally different opinions like "bad FDE", "not realistic at all" or "not flyable" (real pilots' opinions)As a "home pilot" I do not understand why real pilots have such a different opinion concerning this aircraft's FDE.What is right and what is wrong, has she good FDE or does she have bad FDE that needs improvement?GreetingsDie…

Never. Until CS fixes all the issues they left us with they should never be considered for ANY award...let alone a "Gold"....for anything they make.Legendary 707, 727 and C-130 Extra Pack are riddled with problems, bugs and inacuracies. Take a moment to visit their forum and have a listen to all the problems we have been trying to get fixed! How handy that, after all the promises, we now get "Development of this product is over". How very convenient. It's my own fault that I had to purchase 3 of their inferior and incomplete products to finally get the message...but get it I did. Never again will I spend a dime on a CS product...no matter how wonderful your reviews paint…

In general this was a very good review, but I could not help but wonder why, you not only did not list non FSX animated jetways as a negative, you didn't even mention they were static only? (Unless used with AES)

I read a lot of arcticles boosting the new erj series, so I jumped and bought the download version. Much to my surprise it didnt work. Apparently it is not compatible with FSINN, but only with sqkbox. I asked feelther about it and they said they never tried it with FSINN. Obviously it doesnt work and with the download version ineligable for a refund I m trying to give it to a friend for and xmas gift.Feelthere asked for his name and addr, but so far nothing has happened.Good and honest advertising policy should have stated that it wont work with FSINN so people wouldnt be out $46 bucks just to learn that factThomas525laowai <at> yahoo.com

The DBS Studio's TCAS reviewer failed to mention the perfectly fine free alternatives that exist, namely Lee Hetherington's IVSI TCAS IIv7, available for free at the Avsim file library - and I thought it was deserving of a mention. The gauge is fully complaint with TCAS IIv7 standards (excluding those that involve TCAS-TCAS communication), in fact the code is actually what underpins TCAS functionality in the PMDG 737.http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Search...u&Go=SearchThe only difference I can spot between DBS's payware and Lee's freeware is that the former gets a fancy installer/configurator (which according to the review doesn't always work anyway), and in the l…

Freeware quality, why the hell would they charge for something like this. The love of the hobby has gone, these people are just trying to make a quick buck. Actually I've seen better looking freeware... the exterior model and panel looks like a joke.

An astounding and excellent review by Jeff, truly the work is the reflection of the man and Jeff is outstanding. Very long, meaty, a little quirky (but that just gives it more personality), and all-around comprehensive. Jeff has outdone himself here. Congratulations and thank you for the effort. It is a great pleasure to read. And congratulations to all other reviewers, oops! I don't forget Angelique (just kidding) whose reviews highlight her in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm and are also a pleasure to read (and I don't even like commercial airliners.) And the same goes for the Editor who has organized this section in such a way that there is always a high quality review i…
