I was reading a few articles today about how the airlines are trying to do more and more to save fuel as oil prices continue to go up. Something that just about all the majors have been doing for quite some time, particularly on the smaller aircraft, is taxiing on one engine. I believe the usual pattern is to start #2 during or shortly after the push and use that to taxi to the runway, starting #1 just before takeoff. Then after landing it's the opposite, you shut down #2 and taxi in on #1. The reason why it's this way and not the reverse is so the baggage folks can get right into the cargo bays as you pull into the gate, since #2 has already spooled down. So it redu…

A great program. However...During the Before Start checks I always hear the same fuel quantity reported by the CO regardless of the actual fuel on board. Is this the way the program is supposed to operate in this regard? If so it's s a small issue, yet one that does detract slightly from the realism of the briefing. If there is a problem with FS2Crew in determining the actual fuel on board from the FS2004 sim, then perhaps provision could be made to enter this information manually, say by means of an additional entry on the Receiving Aircraft Page.Either way would be satisfactory as far as I am concerned.Best regards,Sandy

Not sure if this is the correct place for this topic, so sorry if it isn't. Just wondering if anybody has a way for the Flight Sim ATC to recognize you are using a STAR or DP. Does this need to be written to the Flight Plan somehow so this can be followed (obviously speed/alt restrictions will be ignored, but nothing you can do about that really). Just not sure the reason to brief for a DP or STAR, and then not use it because the ATC ignores it.Heath

Hi,Just started using FSCrew and am a bit frustrated. I am having trouble firing up my engines. They try to start but only reach 5% N1 and just stay there. The other odd part is the manual states to have the Bleeds Off - Yet after calling out the startup sequence the FO turns them ON. Weird eh?Please help out this noob. Yes I have FSUIPC latest and PMDG svc pk 1ThanksAnthony

I upload default cessna and shut it down as advised. Go to my 737-800 and it loads up (from cessna 2D cockpit as advised), and I get black unfilled boxes where the pages should be fully loaded. Help - where did I go wrong?Jeff

I have had a problem three different times and not all the time, when after starting the engines and then trying to turn on the generator switch that the toggle is gone. What I mean is it won't respond when it clicks just stays there and no generators come on. I don't have this problem all the time but as stated has happened three times. I don't know if this is something with the procedure or if something shuts down in the panel. Has anyone else had this probelm? Any work arounds, sure is rough when you have been 20 minutes getting the bird ready, and then it doens't work. Thanks,David

FS2Crew continues to impress me with its depth, however, I would like to point out that the pushback feature could use some improvement. FS2Crew only allows you to pushback once since it is directly linked to the before start checklist. While this is usually sufficient, there are times when a couple of short pushes in different directions are necessary in order to get out of a tight parking spot. The other day I was parked at KLGA and when I was ready to push I looked around and realized that there was no way to get out with a single push, since I was jamed in with planes on all sides. Worse yet, I was using the winglets version of the -800 and the wingtip of the 767 …

HiA single question for this very nice add-on: If the FO is flying (after the A-button has been pressed) during cruise, will the CA's intervention still be required if there is a message from the FA?If you hand the flying over to the autopilot and the FO for a little while, it would be nice if you could leave the computer with a peacefull mind for a couple of minutes.regards Ole

Bryan, I am much enjoying FS2Crew with the PMDG 738/739. Congratulations on your accomplishment and I hope it sells very well. However, I cannot help thinking that this kind of product would be a godsend for 747 Ready 4 Pushback: 2nd Generation. Of course, I know the old school flight deck and expanded crew of the 742 would be a massive undertaking to take on, but I can't help but smile when I imagine how immersive the experience could be when working through the flows with both the FO and FE helping me along.

Hi Guys,Does this update install any additional items to the panel.cfg file?.The reason I ask, I have custom gauges that I added to my PMDG B737 panels and I do not want to lose this data.If there are no changes to the panel.cfg file, is there a way to add the update without making changes to the panel.cfg file?. If not will this be available in the future.? Just think its a pain to have to backup and reinstall my gauges whenever there is an update.BTW: Love the product!!!!ThanksMike

HI,I am having a bit of trouble getting started. I installed the program without errors, and read over the manuals befroe doign anything. However, when I loaded up FS2004 with the default cessna, I was unable to access the 2D panel in the Cessna. I have not experienced this problem before. There was just a black space whre the panel should have been and a view outside in the top half of the screen. I was able to switch to the Virtual cockpit, from whihc the aircraft funtioned normally. And so, I proceeded and shutdown the Cessna as recommended, and then switched to the 737NG-800. As with the Cessna, I was unable to access the 2D panel, but the Vitrtual cockpit work…

Hi Bryan, just a little question concerning the confusing "before start / after start" flow: the FO shuts down the start levers during the "receiving aircraft" flow. Does the captain turn them back on before starting the engines? It says in the flow manual, that the FO handles the start levers during the "after start" flow again. What is the sense in the FO touching those levers after starting up the engines? Ingo

Hi Bryan thank for your quick replay about keyboard assignment. I wrote you directly with another address because AVSIM forum did not take may mail. Now I have another problem. From the tutorial KSFO cold and dark cockpit after starting program with conf, I'm unable to switch on overhead panel battery (and so on starting APU) I notes that battery cover is open and don't move when clicking mouse over. The same is for standby power and ground power. It is as the electical device has not functioning gauges (as in normal overhead panel). I tried unistall and reinstall but no change. It may be i have misunderstanded anything. Thanks again

Hi Bryan,I finished some days ago to assign all 737 keys to my PFC console via FSUIPC changing many of default keys (I have other addon using key assignment) Now after install FS2crew I read from operative manual that the program uses some key combination not available for me.So or I change everything (with a great headache and a lot of time) or uninstall FS2 crew.As you are going to give us an upgrade is it possible to have something letting users to change default keys assignments?I think this should be very important. Thanks

...a few questions have arisen. And please don't get me wrong or like I'm trying to find faults, I'm just curious and want to make sure I understand everything correct.1. How (and by whom) should the Flight Director be handled? Noticed it's included in the FO's After Landing flow but never before that?2. Is it accurate according to real world ops that the start switches are left in their 'Continuous' mode during the whole flight?3. How (and by whom) should the Taxi Lights be handled? Noticed that if I want them on during my taxi at the departure airport, I'll have to turn them on myself and also turn them off when it's time for the landing lights prior to takeoff. But dur…

I am curious as to whether or not one could maintain the minor differences between the 700 and 800 panels by merely substituting just the OHD_PNUEMATIC gauge for the 700 in the primary overhead view, but not substituting it in the mini-panel? As far as I can tell that is the only gauge that differs in the panels.I realize that the alias panel method works, just curious as to if there would be a known problem to this solution? Thanks.Joe LorencVice President, Carolina Operations, VN7 Networkhttp://www.vn7network.com/

Hi,One thing I've found a bit troublesome is to know where to find what to put in the TDZE field on your flights when you don't have all the charts for all airports you fly to. Any good suggestions?

Purchased, downloaded and flew "Tutorial 1" last night from KSFO-KLAX without a hitch. This is a wonderful addition to flying realism. The funny thing is, I knew nothing about this project a few weeks ago when I was thinking. "it would be cool if you had more interaction from a virtual FO". Viola! Here it is!Development for truly unique add-on products like this seem only limited by one's imagination. Great work!

At what point, in the flows and checks, does the FO make the first auto switches,if any? Also, how many switches, does he open?I read the manuals and have been brain numbed by all the data.Popi

I downloaded FS2Crew this past weekend, installed it, and attempted to follow Tutorial #1. I had a couple of major problems:1) Whenever I would complete a "section" such as the "Config" page or "Receiving Aircraft", I would click on the ">" button in order to move onto the next screen. The next page would flash for a second and then disappear. In order to display it, I would have to press the "L" button.2) Additional screens that flash without prompting, such as the "Loadsheets", the FA screens, etc... would also flash for a second and then disappear, never to be seen again. As a result, I could never get past the "Before Start" section. The departure clock wou…
