From Goose Bay (Canada) Narssarssuaq (Greenland). In case the Race would have a leg with a 4 engins non-turboprop, I used the KLM Super Constellation PH-LKA for this test trip over the North Atlantic. Not the fastest aircraft now, but when it was taken in production, it was.I posted some screenshots athttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=223430&page= Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/139062.jpg

HiThis weekend I will be taking those interested on a tour through Norway as part of our practice. This will be short hops with TNG on some airports as we go along, just to see the place and try the approach.Plan is to start up north at ENSS and fly along the coast with a few detours inland to see a couple of airports there.Suggested route: ENSS > ENHV > ENHF > ENHK > ENSR > ENDU > ENSK > ENLKWill add more as we fly southThis is night flying into small airports, some with less than 3000ft rwy, and winds can be pretty strong. Add snow/rain and low visibility, and you got the perfect setup for practice. Most if not all have localizer, many ofset to the …

Hi,I've already wrote to Sonar5 about this, but haven't received a reply yet. I already anounced FS Economy some time ago. It includes provisions for hosting air races that might be usefull. The main benefits are:- A complete log is kept of all flights, including Fuel usage/time enroute, etc.- Routes can be planned in advance so all pilots know where they need to go.It's basically a webbased system with a small executable that interacts with FS. I'm looking at the possibility to host more air races in the future. On of the ideas is a race based on the idea "get from point A to point B with a positive bank balance". This kind of race brings many new and interesting conside…

I suggest everyone starts getting in some practice flying high performance aircraft into and out of tight high altitude airports at night in poor visibility and crosswinds.Doesn't matter so much what aircraft and airport at this point as we don't know the rules but I've a feeling there will be some "challenging" operations to carry out :)

Hi allDuring my practice runs during the week, I noticed something strange: Sitting at the active runway 18 at SCXX, alt 4000 ft, wind was reported as 136 at 06. Take-off, up to 10000 ft, follow the pattern around, in for landing - but wait: The wind had changed more than 90 degrees??? And it was still changing as I made the landing in slight tailwind!Reason: Wind smoothing in FSUIPC. I had mine set to max 1 knot or 1 degree per second, so for a quick descent there was not enough time for the wind to 'get back' to 136. Now this may be bad enough flying solo, but when flying in a group whether multiplayer or just with scouts, you might get in serious trouble if either the …

The 2005 RTW Race Journal is now available at the FligthSim and AVSIM libraries. (RTWR2005.zip)The narrative should give newbies some sense of the drama. And veterans will enjoy reliving the wonderful moments.Best,Mike MacKuen (for John Mueller and David Copley)

Copy and paste the validation graphic path from the Duenna flight log text file. For example near the bottom of the text log output screen it says:Validation-Graphic:C:Program FilesFS-AddonsRTW-DuennaOUTPUT2006-01-06FlightLog_22-53-40.JPG(just copy the above path+file into your forum-attachment field.)(Copy and paste just the path into the first line on the attachment window under Step 1)3. Hi everyone-My laptop crashed over the summer and I lost some programs. I'm trying to reload everything to get ready for the race. I used to have a freeware utility that showed all current multiplayer sessions on the internet for FS2004. I can't remember the name. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Also - I'm looking for a screenshot utility that I can use to take quick shots without leaving flight sim. I'd like to be able to hit one key and have the picture saved in a directory in JPG format. I wanted to take more pictures last year but was too busy racing to do PRTSCN > open Ms Paint> Paste > Save as JPG. Does anyone know if such a thing exists?ThanksChri…
