Hey guys, With practice in full swing, I am just checking to be sure there are no problems and that its working okay. I know it worked for the most part last year but just making sure. It does NOT work with P3D V3 yet but I will be releasing an update for it for P3D V3 as soon as I can be sure it works with P3D V3. I know some of you know I am working on a revamp of the Duenna software however I do not believe there is enough time to get that up and running before the race and I know some don't love change so perhaps for next year or other events. Thanks, Eamonn

  2. Southern California – Baja Border - San Diego Starting at Jacumba (L78), today's journey takes us across the rugged terrain of the Laguna Mountains and foothills between Interstate 8 and the U.S.-Mexico border. We will land at Reider Ranch (CA75), and then proceed to John Nichol's Field (0CL3), before crossing into Mexico and landing in Tijuana (MMTJ). From MMTJ the route continues south over the sprawling city of Tijuana to Rosorita on the Pacific coast before turning north back across the US Mexico Boarder flying over the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve on the approach to NOLF Imperial Beach. The next section of the route is over the extensive US Nava…

California – The Road to Monterey Today's journey takes us from the ski slopes of Lake Tahoe to the rugged beauty of the Monterey Peninsula. We depart from South Lake Tahoe (KTVL) for a short flight to the small mountain field at Alpine County (M45). Then proceeding along the Sierra highlands, we enjoy the mountain beauty before a descent to Calaveras County (KCPU), the site of Mark Twain's "Jumping Frog." A jog to the southeast takes us to the hillside airport (E45) at the Pine Mountain Lake resort/retirement community. We then circle over the artificial reservoirs and lakes to gaze at Don Pedro Dam (DPDam) and Exchequer Dam (EXDam) before circling to land on the pref…

California – Climbing the High Sierra We depart from Redding (KRDD) to follow the Sacramento River northwestward. At the bend in the river stands the stylish "Sundial Bridge" (waypoint SDIAL) just north of Benton (O85). Just westward, there are two bridges that might tempt foolhardy pilots to do something reckless rather than safe. Staying low at 700 feet ASL and following the curve northward, we pass the handsome Keswick Dam (KESWK). A few miles further along, we run abruptly into the grand Shasta Dam (SHAST) that stands 600 feet above the river bed. We turn over Shasta Lake and the surrounding hills and land at the small private Tews Field (CA53). Take care for the …

Folks, Heads up. A2A store has a sale running. You can pickup the Aircraft Factory P51H for 25% off ($14.99). It has identical performance to the Shockwave P51H but looks much better in FSX https://a2asimulations.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=81&zenid=5389b776167c02a011f30dc976f3b0a5 It's not Accusim but if you've been wanting to pick one up for RTWR this is pretty good opportunity.

  6. California - North Coast - Redwoods and Wine Country Starting from Ells-Willits (O28) the route proceeds south to Boonville (D83). The route then turns towards the Pacific coast where we will visit three airstrips in quick succession. To keep things moving, once we reach Redwoods (53CL) pilots should immediately taxi and depart to the next airfield after landing or just perform a touch and go. Traffic calls for short final and take-offs will facilitate this process. This expedited arrival and departure process should be done at Redwoods (53CL), Ocean Ridge (E55) and Sea Ranch (CA51). Pilots should listen for traffic announcements so they can sequence in and out…

The flight plan is a modified version of a route we flew last year. Starting at Ruth California near the headwaters of the Mad River our route will cross the Mad River, Eel River, and South Fork of the Trinity River. The route is up and down over mountain ridges and features three full stop landings and one touch-and-go before heading to the Pacific Coast at Eureka. From there we proceed down Humboldt Bay to Fortuna, and then over the Lost Coast wilderness to Shelter Cove. The last leg will take us back inland to finish at Ells Field-Willits Municipal. The route is 190 nm with 7 full stop landings and 2 touch-and-go landings. All of the fields have hard surfaces and …

The Australian Alps and the Snowy Mountains Scheme The Route This flight takes us through the Australian Alps to enjoy the majestic mountain views and a few challenging airstrips. We start at Cooma Polo Flats (YPFT) and pass over parts of the famous Snowy Mountains Scheme – the massive diversion of the Snowy River's waters for irrigation and hydro-electric power. And then we fly over the Victorian Highlands before landing at Mount Hotham (YHOT). Our landings will be at grass airstrips, most built for the region's hydro-electric facilities. A few of these will be interesting challenges. While these are not "extreme airmanship tests," some are tricky and you should surely …

Canaries Cruise This flight takes us on an aerial tour of the Canary Islands off the west coast of Africa. The islands are part of Spain and are a popular tourist destination for Europeans. We will start in Lanzarote and overfly the volcanic Timanfaya National Park before moving on to Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife. Leaving Tenerife North airport we will climb to the summit of Mount Teide, a 12,198 ft high active volcano. After a quick stop at Tenerife's South airport (Reina Sofia) we cross to the island of La Gomera before finishing at La Palma, having first visited the Roque de los Muchachos astronomical observatory at nearly 8,000 ft on the upper slope…

Any minute now Sir Roger de Brum will present us with a flight plan. What we do know is that it will start in YMLT Launceston. In a rare bout of helpfulness I offer this bit of 'anti angst' 1: If you don't have or don't want FTX Australia then you can have FREE Orbx's demo Tasmania 2: Now get hold of Orbx freeware YMLT Launceston. When you have installed Launceston, make your way to Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\FTX_AU\FTXAA_AIRPORTS\scenery and change the ORBX_YMLT_ADE_CVX.bgl to ORBX_YMLT_ADE_CVX.OFF That will save you fretting over elevations, duplicated scenery and of course, 'etc'. It also renders this scenery as 'Brilliant'

A Rocky Ascent This week's adventure takes us through the Rocky Mountains' ski country just west of Denver, Colorado. We begin at Denver's Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (KBJC). Formerly known as Jeffco, this has long been one of the region's primary General Aviation airfields. We head northwest to visit scenic Rocky Mountain National Park and take a look at Longs Peak (LONG) and its famous shear-faced climb "The Diamond." Turning southwest, we land at Granby (KGNB), pause for a moment of silence (see narrative), and continue to Kremmling McElroy (20V). Then southwest over the Vail Ski Resort (VAIL), now the most popular in Colorado, and head along I-70 to Eagle Co…

The route will pass over Mt St Helens and will feature one or possibly more airmanship challenges that will be revealed during the session. This flight is 265 nm and features a number of short airstrips. A GA aircraft capable of 120-140knts is recommended. The A2A Cessna 182 or A2A Piper Comanche are good choices but fly any aircraft you like. I will be flying this Canadian registered Skylane painted by Urs Burkhardt …

WWII Airfields of SE England This flight takes us on a tour of WWII airfields in the south east of England. The flight is open to anyone who would like to join in and fly in a multiplayer environment. The sole prerequisite is that only FSX users can be accommodated (not FSX-SE or P3D, unfortunately) as this is a limit of the multiplayer system used. Apart from that, the only important requirement is a wish to enjoy flying! A good sense of humour, or even humor, would come in handy as well though (we promise to only laugh the first time you crash). If you haven't participated in multiplayer before, we are happy to help get you set up. All you need to get started i…

The recent flight plan thread 'Cunning plan' received over 800 views, the flight plan was downloaded over 70 times! yet no-one joined our little band. Why is that? Maybe you're a little shy, maybe you think you don't have the necessary skills. Not sufficient excuse. :Shame On You: We do the sort of flying I know you'd enjoy. ATC type talk is minimal and not obligatory. Sense of humour/humor doesn't hurt. Somewhere on this forum are the TeamSpeak details. Sort yourself out with them and join us. Start by saying "Hi everyone, my name is 'whatever'. (Don't say 'whatever' say your name) We will then say "hi whatever, welcome. I'll have a large scotch" and then guide you th…

  19. Today’s tour continues in Atlantic Canada flying over Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton Island, and Newfoundland with a stop in France on the way. The tour starts in Charlottetown (CYYG), and includes stops in Sydney (CYQY), Saint Pierre (LFVP), Argentia (NWP), St John’s (CYYT), and finishes at Gander (CYQX). To cover the 547nm route in a reasonable time frame you should plan on flying a plane capable of 250-300 knts. I shall be flying the Flight1 Cessna Mustang in the High Sierra livery. Recommended scenery: - Orbx Global - Orbx NA Arctic, Alaska and Canada Landclass - Orbx Vector or UTX for roads, rivers and coastlines Fli…

  20. Couple of snaps of the new Aeroplane Heaven Lockheed Model 10 Electra. Very nice visual model and pretty good VC.

  21. Just completed a couple of test flights in the "new" FSX native P-51H from Aircraft Factory. It is very reasonably priced at $20. Excellent visual model and outstanding virtual cockpit. The aircraft flight model is very sweet and seems much easier than the Shockwave "H" portover, but it is definitely much easier to handle than the A2A Accusim P-51D, the smaller fuse tank helps. I think the performance - speed wise - is comparable to Shockwave H. Max speed was 424knts true at 25000, but the range was below 600nm at that speed/altitude. I had to climb up to 30000 to get 750nm range and airspeed was down to 412knts true. Will continue to test, I like it. http://fs-…

  23.
