I have repainted 2 planes now using the game screen as my view port but thats getting tiresum. What program other then FSRepaint can i use to view my work as i go? FSRepaint seams to only support 02, and 04 at the moment.

Hi! How can I make more transparent the disk prop so I can change that look of a 33RPM record ( do you remember them?) turning in each prop and so unreal. Some told me I have to give more transparency with Gmax or FSDS which I dont have. Can I "repaint" the files BMP with Photoshop and how?Thanks

A question regarding complicated and unusual paint schemes. In this picture of the Qantas Nalanji Dreaming, how do you actually go about painting this plane. Is it all hand painted? Traced ? or cut and paste from the best photos you can find? Hi all,I've repainted the default C172 of FSX. The repaint shows pretty well when I copy the entire texture dir and modify the main file (C172_T.dds).But when I use the fallback paths in texture.cfg, keeping only modified C172_T.dds in the texture directory, it shows the default repaint from the ..texture directory.I don't think it's a format problem since it works without texture.cfg file. I've saved it in DDS DXT5 using DXTbmp from Martin Wright. Is it correct or is there anything special with the texture.cfg file ?Thanks !

I need to begin repainting the standard FSX aircraft. How can I deal with the different textures in there?. I know there is a dynamic reflection texture and that it uses the DDS format, but I don't want to just import old FS2004 aircraft in there, because it will loose dynamic reflection abilities.How can I paint the reflection texture, is it a special photoshop filter that I need to apply? brightness or contrast settings, etc.?Am I making any sense?I have plenty of repaint experience for fs2002 and 2004, btw.

Hi,In looking at the default Cessna 172 files, there is a regular texture file and a specular file - which to me looks like a "browner" version. What is the difference, and how do you create this file? Hello all. Does anyone know of a turorial for breaking down a PSD from 2048 X 1024 down to 1024 X 1024?I ask because of the new PSS 757 paint kit. I have worked with that company's FS9 777 and Airbus Pro versions, in which the fuselage is already broken down into sections, or is of proper size, and is primed for painting. However, this was not done for the 757. That particular PSD is full length at 2048 in length, including the VStab. I have searched around these fora at Avsim and found many mixed responses about copyrights, but no really clear cut definitive answer. The background: Many planes don't just have a main sponsor paintscheme (viz the Red Bull planes), they have things like "Aeroshell", "Lycoming", "www - someone or other" and all those other trademarked logos that can be found on many planes. The Question: How thin is the ice we painters tread on, when we repaint a plane seen on airliners.net for instance?Personally I try to make contact with the owners and in at least 8 times out of 10 I get a response which has always been yes so far. G'day all.Could someone please give me a few clues on how make rivet lines? I've a got a model that I'd like to repaint. I'm reasonably familiar with PSP8 and have PS7 installed. The bitmap is 1024* for Warwick Carter's T6. It's actually a template by Gary Smith, but I need to clean it up a bit. The rivets are just one pixal each, which is fine. However, the lines of rivets down the wing are at a about 5* angel, which means I can't get a clear line by hand. The line facility in PSP isn't much chop. Can't get a consistent line of single dots/pixals.If anyone has any clues on how to do this, I'd really appreciate the help.Cheers,Matthew.

Hi all,after seeing that the IFly747 came highly recommended, I downloaded this aircraft. But the standard liverys it had dont fit in with Eupopean scenery. So I downloaded ifly744_sid_star_rep.zip, to aquire more realistic paint jobs.Now to the problem, in the readme is the instruction to merge the .mrg file with the .cfg file.Question how is this Merge doneWill the .cfg file still require the new aircraft to be added ie [flightsim xx] and all the other modsRegards JohnT

Once I did, it was in the times of FS8, and the repaints were for Project Airbus A320 (Condor and Finnair).
