  4. The closest airport is Alicante (LEAL) at the south of Benidorm and located at the Costa Blanca, about halfway from north to south at the eastcoast of Spain and a very popular holiday destination for us northern Europeans. Take-off from LEAL in a DC3 Overfly the City of Alicante, a bit north of the Airport Approaching my holiday destination -> Benidorm Some shots of Benidorm via a low and slow flight in a C152 Firstcoming holiday stay is from end Sep to begin Oct and temperature is a pleasant +25°C when the sun shines bright. At home about 2000Km north probably around 10°C. I'm looki…

  7. Passed the French/Spanish border in a Transall-C160 overflying the coastal area with San Sebastian and arriving the Bilbao area for landing at the Airport LEBB. From there a scenic returnflight in a Diamond DA62 over the City of Bilbao and pass the iconic Guggenheim Museum with irrigular metal shaped structures. I choose this destination because Bilbao was ths year's start on July 1st of the famous Tour de France bicycle competition and ends at July the 23th in Paris.

  8. From BMW via Orbx. KCOS. Another very fine airport from Alexey. Just the airport here, Colorado Springs is quite nicely done but probably of no interest to anyone else (no major city centre stuff). So let's go! Modelling is excellent throughout, as usual from Alexey Lovely setting, of course And as you go through the entrance (and it all looks so well done I actually expected the entrance doors to slide open for me), there are people here! And what a difference it makes. The last few airports I've bought and explored have been very nicely modelled but totally lifeless, as there were no people inside. For me, this makes a huge difference a…

  10. Started by ryanbatc,

The other day I found that vFlyteAir updated their PA30 twin comanche for XP12. I absolutely enjoyed the plane in 11 so I naturally went for the updated version (about 20 USD - 35 USD for the full version). Aside from ever so slightly dated visuals, the systems depth and avionics just blew me away. The plane comes with a classic analog panel or a mix of glass/analog. The product also comes with excellent paper manuals including charts, POH, and detailed guides to the glass systems. They did a lovely job modelling the Garmin G5s, the Garmin TXi engine monitor (don't think I've ever seen a TXi in any sim!), and the GFC 500 Autopilot. They've also done a nice job with …

  12. Another combined airport and city tour. KSAT from IniScene, and San Antonio itself (in the second post) following the recent Texas Cities Update. KSAT is another one of those airports that is not exactly design-led. Functional but nothing to look at. The Iniscene vesrion is quite nicely done, with lots of detail in the various periphery areas which are nothing glamorous, but very well modelled . The main terminals themselves are partially modelled, but have no people, which seems to be a thing with a lot of these airports lately. Personally, I really don't understand this - having authentic looking interiors with not a soul in sight is a bit absurd, and I assume (cou…

  14. So now it's time to explore the scenery of SLC and its surrounds. I really like the look and feel of this place. One of the things I enjoyed about a lot of the places I went to in the USA back in my instructing days was the feeling of open space. The UK is one of the most densely populated and built up countries, and we tend to have everything crammed up against everything else. Apart from a few wild places, you're never more than a mile or so from the next building or set of buildings even in the "open countryside", and most of the built-up areas are really chronically over built. Plus we have this obsession with our "green belt" (supposedly preserved areas around most o…

  16. I already had the Bredok3d version of KSLC, but although the exteriors and modelling generally are good, it has no interiors and was one of the very early MSFS addon airports, so when I saw the Pacsim version I grabbed a copy. I really like Salt Lake City in the various sims - the setting is great and it seems to have been quite well done over the years, from what I remember. Only been there once in real life, and that was a working trip as usual, but enjoyed that even so. The new airport is good, with just one reservation (later), and the city and surrounding area is one of the PG gems in MSFS. So I'm doing this in two parts (and even so that will only be about a th…

  17. Just saw the post here about the Texas city update so nipped in to MSFS and grabbed it. Thought I'd check out Austin as I have the DDT airport for that. Just a few quick grabs Airport is pretty quiet outside Nicely modelled Interiors are good too, with a combination of static and animated pixel people and a rotating bar sign! I had AIG up and running but there didn't seem to be anything showing up at this time And now a quick look at the city and surrounds. This was one of the places shown in the video To be honest, I wasn't hugely impressed with the PG here. You have to pull ba…

  18. Funnily enough, as I was returning to KSLC in the 222B I noticed a surprise visitor - the new/old Stratoliner. Had to grab a few shots Looks like a real midget in the modern environment, doesn't she? Going against the grain for me and worked my way through the checklists Shame there's nobody here to see her! Taxiing out She's a bit fussy and wobbly for my taste for actual flying, so I doubt I'll do that much. But she's fun to have around and cheap (insert your own sexist joke at this point) and she'll look good in various locations and scenarios (and again) so I'm glad I go…
