The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

[This post is triggered by recent sighting, here, of a set of beautiful pictures of the Sky Simulations MD-11, including KLM livery. Prompted by those pictures, I did acquire, today, the Sky Simulations MD-11 SIM, but I haven't got to fly it yet...This (McDonnell Douglas) Trijet Classic remains a favorite among most jetliner fans/simmers...including myself...] From about a decade ago, I cannot forget one of my (memorable) MD-11 flights, in a KLM MD-11, probably, my only travel in a MD-11, as far as I can recall. I'd posted a story, here, a while ago, about that flight. As a quick recap, I excerpt, here, below, some text from that old post of mine: "...I recall t…

Just playing around with XP12 again. Checking out what works in XP12. This P51 seems fine, as does the Spitfire to come in another set shortly. So nothing hugely fancy here. There's a fairly lousy EGLL in the bacground here. The default is not nice and I feel the Aerosoft one from XP11 is almost worse. Have to confess I just bought my first bit of XP scenery in three years - a new Heathrow, and I'll get some shots of that later as well. Pix are from two different flightrs with two different liveries. Still struggling with a couple of things. The roads don't look as good as I remember them from XP11 but I can't at this point remember what trick I us…

Grabbed all the SimHeaven freeware packages, along with the payware Global Forests via Orbx, and thought I'd check it all out in somewhere default (no True Earth), so came to Cape Town. No ortho tiles here - I had made a load for XP11 and I might dig out the drive where I stashed them and try them out later as well. Wouldn't put this up against MSFS at any detailed level, but it's not too bad at all if you keep up a wee bit higher. The experiment continues! Huge improvement over the default, for me. I will be checking out other regions over the coming few days as well.

Went back and did a closer visit around the city itself. One of the better areas for PG, or maybe it's just behaving itself better today. WHo knows with MS and PG. Somedays you eat the bear . . . Didn't add the tag, but I have most of the birds packages, and really enjoy what they add to places like this. There's a weird bit of perspective going on with the two buildings surrounding the laft hand side of the arch in this picture, but they are actually ok (as seen in a couple of pix time) Here are the wto bendy buildings from a couple of pictures back. They still have a slightly 'off' feel about them but are much better from this angle …

Got confused by this at first sight. Ontario? 'K'-something? Well, you live and learn. Probably been to it several times over the years as the whole Palm Springs to LA trip has always been a fave for me in the various iterations of P3D and XP I've used, and I often just stop at any airport on that route that takes my fancy on the day. Just never really registered that's what this one was called. Nice bit of scenery, both the airport itself and the surrounding area. I thought this was supposed to be a FLIGHT simulator, not a PALM simulator (just thought I'd beat anybody else to that comment). Nicely done, aren't they? I've been praising the light and atmosph…

For some reason I always try my new plane additions around Gibraltar. So, this time it’s the Me-109 or Bf-109 Gustav. I already have the P-38 and the Spitfire Mk IX from Flying Irons Simulations and both of them I can handle by now. Ok, the good news is, I got her into the air. Not the way I wanted to, as can be seen from the picture. Luckily the runway here has lots of room on both sides and the plane was never intended to take off from anything but grass In the air she is easy on the stick, I love it Ok, now comes the hard part So far so good "Auf Wied…

I first ported this FS9 plane to FSX, so I could add a VC, then I ported it over to MSFS, and here is this vintage beauty now. It has been sitting far too long in my virtual hangar, collecting dust 🙂 Thanks for viewing

I start my flight to Maun from Bitterwasser, which is a (gliding) airfield on the edge of the Kalahari region and located about 170 kilometers southeast of Windhoek. The gliding center is considered to be among the best in the world. Numerous world records have been set here due to the good thermal conditions. My accommodation is one of these rondavels. But on closer inspection I would prefer a standard room in the nearby lodge Passing Lake Ngami I decide to leave my planned route, swing north and have a first look at part of the Okavango Delta, before I turn so…
