The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

  4. I've been whingeing about the state of the PG in a couple of recent posts about Calgary, but like I said there, it's very much a lucky dip sort of thing with PG. Here's some shots around Philadelphia, where I've been playing around with the MKStudios KPHL. I did a flight out from KPHL to Princeton (had to drop some supplies in to the kids <grin>) and the PG around Philadelphia is not bad at all. A few of the unfortunate vegetation uglifacts (half tree/half concrete bunker) in a few places, but apart from that it works pretty well here, and you can actually get quite close before it goes off. Like I said previously, when it works it's pretty impressive. It just …

And now dear friends, I have some news. I'm absolutely SICK of AVSIM's ads. I don't know if I'll ever be I'll be posting here again. Reasons: 1. Since yesterday, on my iPhone whenever I go to this site I get a Google pop-up that COMPLETELY takes over my browser, there's no way to get out of it unless I shut down the browser. This is intolerable. 2. The ads here can't be shut off, I even offered once to PAY to have them stop and I was rebuffed by either the owner here or an admin. 3. The ads here flash so rapidly that they induce a mild seizure in my elliptic brain which makes me physically ill. Do you not care about people with disabilities? …

  17. Continuing my re-acquaintance with XP-12, I wanted to see what TE Florida would look like in XP-12. Pretty stunning, is the answer. I've always thought this might well be Orbx's best bit of scenery, loved it in XP11, can't actually remember if I had it for P3D - I may have stopped using P3D by then. So, symlinked it in to XP-12, along with all the rest of my Orbx XP stuff, and headed out from KEYW (Orbx). Still not set up properly for the various controls etc (which shows how much I'm enjoying XP - don't want to spend the time messing around with key bindings - just want to get in the air and go) but I'll maybe do that this weekend. It's beginning to inhibit my movin…

  18. from a couple of trial flights around Heathrow. First in the Duchess, out of Southend, up and across London into EGLL, and second out of EGLL in the cub and off towards Reading. All pretty much out of the box, no tweaking or even proper setting up (still haven't mapped my controls again - shows how much I use the aircraft's systems!). Scenery around Southend is from an older XP11 package, not sure where the boundary with TE is. London itself in the XP/TE package is not as good as MSFS for me (even with the what I feel is the awful London PG at the moment), but it's the light and atmospherics I'm finding addictive. Plus, oddly, I actually enjoy the flying a bit more -…

  19. just the default Palm Springs, Used to be a favourite in the old P3D days with all the Orbx stuff, so I thought I'd see what it looked like in XP12. Possibly inapprpriate weather to start with, no idea if it ever gets like this around there but hey . . Weather clearing now I am getting spoiled by the lighting and atmospherics in XP12. If I could port these aspects to the MSFS world I really would have the absolutely perfect sim. I think I shall start experimenting with filters and the like in MSFS, as I'm finding it a bit bright and harsh now I've gotten back into XP12.

Did a couple of flights back in MSFS. First one around CYYC, using the Simaddons version Control tower is nicely done Off to the city The surrounding countryside looks quite attractive at first, but when you get near to it, it really is peppered with melty uglyfacts. And I don't thinks it's a tod-related server issue as I've tried this several times over the last week, and it's always been the same. And at that point I gave up and ended the flight. Now I know there will be those who will just say "you're not supposed to fly that close to PG", but there are plenty of places in the sim where you can do so and it looks f…

  22. I got a mailshot re the FSimstudios CYYC and, in my usual considered way, snapped up a copy. I did a quick flight there with the default scenery before buying, in case the default was good, but it's pretty much non-existent, so I went for the FSS one. When I installed it and went for a visit I was a bit disappointed. First off there was some really ugly PG up at one end of the field, in what I assumed was part of the addon. I also wondered if it was just the usual UK weekend evening effect, as I've often found the servers deliver really cr*p PG quite often around then. So I left it a couple of days and went back again and it was still cr*p. In the meantime, @ikbenik …
