The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

  2. OK, so, been having a burst of XP lately, having been rather disheartened with MSFS in my experiments around Calgary. But then I thought I can't abandon the old girl at this point, so came back to check out some other areas again. Here are a few shots from a very busy early morning (around 06.30) KPHL. These are all just around the airport, so next is to make a little trip from here up to NYC somewhere and grab some shots from that whole trip. Restored my faith in MSFS more than a little. And just confirms for me that both these sims can do some pretty stunning stuff. Not very busy in this terminal, but that light is something special A …

  3. Flying around the south of England in the Beech Duke 60, a very nice high quality RealAir aircraft, complemented by the Orbx TrueEarth Southern GB package. This link is actually a short vid clip where I'm using Radar Contact for ATC, makes the whole flight quite immersive. Cheers

  4. Shalom and greetings all my pals, Allow me to present you an interesting aviation history on how Eastern airline's plane came to rescue for the island of Jersey near England. The island was hit twice by extremely bad fog that forced the EGJJ Jersey airport to shut down twice which resulted into thousands of Heathrow bound passengers stranding in the airport or on the island and same numbers of Jersey bound passengers stranded in Heathrow. British Airways decided to come rescue to solve the massive backlog of stranded passengers by selecting two Lockheed L1011s to clear out backlog. Two out of many L1011s in the British Airways fleet got the assignments…

The Beech D18S does not necessarily come up as the ideal bush flying plane for PNG, but it’s a lot of fun to use her within her limitations and sometimes also a bit beyond. 😀😀 The freeware scenery for both airstrips is available from the .to site. Thanks for viewing

Just got this B720 from the .Org site. Got some of my missing airports back as well (I'd forgotten all the joys of the scenery.packs.ini malarkey - got myself a copy of XOrganizer now to deal with it for me), so four quickies around SF. Had a nice little flight over TE GB as well, but didn't grab any shots. I'll experiment with putting some of my XP11 Orbx UK airports in next and take another trip and see.

Mostly low n slow in this stunning Waco paint. A VFR flight from KBTV to KPOU. Both airports are very high quality freeware available at the usual place. This trip is about 180 miles - roughly 75 min of flying time with conservative power (about 130 mph but I had a decent tailwind). The weather briefer said to expect MVFR for at least half of the trip. Initially I wanted to stay low but the clouds pushed me too far into terrain so I climbed above them. As the day went on, their tops went higher so I descended back down. This WACO has no GPS (but if you look online you'll find some all glass panels), but I was equipped for IFR if I needed it. It's got dual nav/…

So, inspired by @filou's recent posts, I thought I'd have a play with XP12. I had initially tried it out when it went live, and at that point just symlinked it to all my old XP11 aircraft and scenery folders. Generally seemed to work ok from what I remember, but thought maybe I'd start working on it as a new install, and just add stuff in one bit at a time. No real idea what's supposed to work and what isn't, as I'm not really sure of the differences between XP11 and XP12 in terms of how things are handled internally. I shall certainly keep trying various of my XP11 addons as firstly I have a lot of them (surprise surprise) and secondly I had some nice environments going …

I honestly don't know if I want to do the rest of the Northern Canadian coast as the scenery is bland, there's few if any airports, and it's boring. I made a flight there today in the sim and it was terrible. These shots are from a week or so ago. CYNA, Natashquan Airport, Quebec, Canada to CYIF, Saint-Augustin Airport Canada.

As I said in my previous thread, this scenery begs to be explored by boat. So here is a short trip around the area with a final stop at Corregidor Island. The next thread will be of course about flying again. 🙂 The Nordhavn 86 was ported over by yours truly from FSX. Its developer “DeltaSim” appears to have closed shop. We finally found a perfect and safe spot for us to anchor the boat and spend the night Then, shortly before sunset we spotted a huge yacht slowly slipping into our quiet cove After breakfast we set our course for Corregidor Island …
