In the northern Italian Alps, about 70Km south of Innsbruck in Austria is a very strange airfield located, called Locher airfield(LOCH) with an only 500m steep descending grasfield. But a PC12 is capable to airborn from thanks to the gained rolloff-speed via the steep descending strip. In this very short hop of only 17Km land southwards on Bolzano(Bozen in German) airport(LIPB). Hereby some shots of that short flight. Th PC12 is from SWS:

Hi all, now I felt inspired by Ryan Butterworths' great post "Gorgeous PNW - Fall City to Anacortes" from msfs. And I did the same flight but in P3d. 🙂 This is for fun just to compare my older scenery with the new one and I think it doesn't look so bad. Of course the moddeling is improved and another big difference is the light environment of msfs. This will come up with P3dv6 as well, but the question will be how long it will take to bring addons to v6. Currently Orbx works on the basics, the libs and the global stuff. I used the Eurocopter instead of a Cessna just because i like to fly heli these days. I cannot let the cyclic loose in that heli …

Hi all, sleep in my heli these days! 🙂 Here you can see the nearly 20 years old scenery for Manhattan by Aerosoft and it's incredible. How one can get that done...all these buildings. Created for FS9. I have no orthoscenery in P3d for that area so it's all FTX Global landclass around. And than I wanted to sit down on one of the towers but couldn't find a heli pad. And without it won't work, it will sink down and crash. Thank you very much for viewing! Cheers Andreas

Hi all, As I announced before I have some shots here from Japan in Aerofly FS4. This is quite interesting because there is no animated water in the sim. So the water is made of painted textures which doesn't create any animations on one side but on the other side a good painter can make beautiful textures for light water and so. It's a lot of work and needs advanced skills in Photoshop or Gimp or similar. Such orthoscenery is available at Flight-Sim.org as freeware hd scenery for the entire Japan. Compared with Aerofly FS2 the Aerofly FS4 provides a lot of airports worldwide and also for Japan and the so called "cultivation", same as autogen. At the …

Hi all, here you see a nice freeware airport for PHDH and it's part of the free Global Airport Pack by Orbx. There are a few more airports at Hawaii in the pack. Runs here on top of the great Honolulu addon by Orbx in the v4 version. I never installed v5. The little plane is an older freeeware version of the Justflight C152 available at Simviation. Good fde of course and looks wonderful crappy. These days I fly always at Hawaii and test the new sim and aircraft and I am pretty fascinated because the flight model seems to be much improved. The aircraft is all very stable, trim and let it fly, great. More improvements can be found, it's good. …

Hi all, here is aircraft featuring nice paints, most of it freeware, at Orbx YBCS Cairns on top of AUV2 which is a good addon for FSX. Comet 4 by David Maltby, great work. DC-4 by Jens Kristensen Cal Classic. HJG DC-8 63. Lockheed L-749 by Manfred Jahn and Hansjoerg Naegele, started in FS9. PBY Catalina, Aerosoft. A "must have", Ant's Drifter. ATR-72 by Carenado, works well even in FSX but if you fly into heavy scenery like Melbourne you will get OOOOOM and CTOOOOO in 32-bit sim. 🙂 Perfect in P3d 4.5. B29A by Virtavia. B-737-400 by Kittyhawk/Eric Cantu. Another FS9 model. B757-200 by Captain Sim. …

You may have already visited these 6 airports of Japan that came bundled (free) with the Japan WU, but, after my (belated) installation of it this week and having visited the Nagasaki Airport (RJFU) in my previous 2 posts, if you are interested, please find here a few snapshots for each of the other 5 Airports (flown with the perennial favorite DC-3 in different liveries). Nagasaki Airport (RJFU) - Please see my previous posts. Kushiro Airport (RJCK) - 1st group of 4 Screenshots (1-4) below - With Sabena Hachijojima Airport (RJTH) - 2nd group of 4 Screenshots (5-8) below - With Lufthansa Kerama Airport (ROKR) - 3rd group of 4 Screenshots (9-12) bel…

Hi all, oh oh, what's that? 🤨🙂 It looks a bit strange but they all say it can fly....I'll try that. It's all in the display here, very little switches on the console compared with F-16. That's what they do today everywhere... There is also a full autopilot page available but I have to practice how to operate it. It has an retractable gear, very progressive...🙃 I feel sick with the mask on, I think I am too old for that.... Ford Island and the old WWII battleship, even the lighthouse is there. Have never been there in real life... Might survive this...we will see... …

I've always wondered why I don't recall ever coming across the ATR in all my domestic/regional flights within U.S., in spite of this a/c been well-recognized as a very popular (and highly efficient) regional transport by most global airlines. I've had chance to travel in the ATR several times, but only abroad, not in U.S. The reason is that there are only a few U.S. airlines that have deployed the ATR. Though regional transport is certainly important in U.S., this segment is dominated by jets, not by turboprops. The one occasion, Delta Connection had offered me an opportunity to travel in a Turboprop, due to my own pre-conception, I'd declined it in favor of a twinjet (Se…

I have been recently looking into the several small-town airport scenery add-ons I'd purchased, a while ago, on sale, on the spur of the moment, which I've not yet explored. So, here is one: 08R (Richmond Airport) ...a tiny airport tucked away in the southern part of the state of Rhode Island, with a tiny runway strip of a little over 2,000 ft. A long time ago, been (graciously) offered free stay, for a week or two, in the house of an acquaintance who lived in Boston (and was temporarily abroad), I'd got to tour the neighboring states (and key cities) quite extensively. There are several U.S. states, closely adjoined around the city of Boston, actually "6" you can co…

Having just arrived in Nagasaki, at the command of the Cathay Cargo 747-8F...🙂...in the fanciful dreams of our virtual aviation...I was looking around the vicinity a bit. Frankly, this airport (and the island) has now grown on me a little bit...feels sad to say good-bye...🙂...Oh well... First of all, please note that I've used "Airport(s)" not "Airport" in the Title, which is because Nagasaki actually has 2 Runways (the larger 18/32, constructed on the offshore and reclaimed land, on which I landed), and another shorter one (18/36) of about 4,000 ft, on the mainland part of Nagasaki (see my 2 shots #8/#9 of the mainland). The Nagasaki Airport Wiki, as of today, does …

This is my first travel across Japan after the (long overdue) installation of the Japan Update. I've picked, here, the Cathay Pacific 747-8 Cargo for my subject a/c, an airline I've come to love since my earliest days of FS2004 with that (stock) B747-400. Of course, the appearance of the Cathay Pacific livery has progressively got better in our SIMs, culminating in what I think was a classic and beautiful rendition of the B747-400 (BCF = Boeing Converted Freighter) model of the Cathay Pacific (BareMetal) livery...in one of our earlier SIMs...by one of the esteemed re-painters around here...🙂... (search for "iFly 747-400BCF Liveries", if you wish to...). I noticed th…

Hi all, now I tried to check if they did changes to the fighters in the new P3dv6 but only the Blackhawk heli seems to be improved. The planes work well anyway. There was no F-22 in P3d4 but in P3dv6 there is a lack of documentation and it has a digital management system. Will see,,,, Than I found another interesting freebee by Milviz at Blackbird which is the Bell 407. This one is perfect and easy to fly without any special adjustment, great. Some nice scenery here in Australia based on landclass. Thank you very much for viewing! Cheers Andreas
