The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

This is the freeware Do 24, originally developed by Wim Regeer for FS9 and in 2016 upgraded by Shessi and Dieter Welke for FSX. I have ported it for my own enjoyment over to MSFS. It flies nicely and is with the lovely sound of its three BMW Bramo radials a welcome change to the default MSFS aircraft. Gauges are not modeled in 3D, so they don’t show up here. Thanks for viewing

  3. Started by crosswind,

Decided to take a leisurely spin around my stomping ground, with the intention of having brunch and a sea bath, only to be disappointed in the outcome. Prepping for descent into TFFJ and planning to land on RW 28 Well we landed alright....BUT!!! No one is hurt, but egos are slightly crushed Well looks like two new engines and some speed tape should do the trick Stay tuned for her return......

  4. As I'd indicated in my previous (B777) post, it was the AA B777 which had given me the opportunity to stay "afloat", as a (human...🙂...) air traveler, for my longest continuous period (~19 hours) in the sky...above the bonds of mother earth...across a distance of nearly 12,000 kilometers (8,000 statute miles or 7,000 nautical miles)...(so, here, in this post, I wished to share a few pictures of this livery).... To put things in perspective, just about 100 years ago from the time of that (taken-for-granted) normal (scheduled) commercial flight, Orville and Wilbur Wright, near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, had made the first successful flight, in history, of a self-prope…

  5. Did a flight from KABQ to Winslow, AZ (yeah...that place made famous by the Eagles) 🙂 It was a little further than I could manage in this morning's hop...so about mid way started looking for alternates. Found this one on Navigraph Charts...but when I dialed in the code in the G1000 to go D> ...nada. Following V12, when you get to ZUNI, you see it on the map.... Its beautiful country with awesome mesas and valleys that at the right time of day, you see the sun hitting the highpoints....could look at this all day! Yellow X's? Pffft......I'm landing anyway 🙂 (which fully explains why its not accessible in the G1000 database..…

Hmmm, that NOSE Getting a feel for the controls. Drone inspection It's all about the lighting A work of art - I think this baby is coming back to the Caribbean More to come upon her return to the Caribbean...... Enjoy

I know you guys read the title and thought I was in DCS finally, hehe. In the incredible world of MSFS, where you find fantastic routes to fly outta' nowhere, scenery passing by below you that's just incredible....try Needles (KEED) to Bagdad, Az (E51). (yes its an MTA or MOA....but I have yet to get yelled at or had an F16 do a "show of force" flyby in MSFS, hehe) One pic for now as I need to get to work....will post the rest of the series when I get off work. This is at Bagdad after shut down (obviously).

I know some users had mentioned they disliked the ocean "currents" look. Maybe the "discrepancies" in the water looked like oil slicks. I think the slight variations look spot on...and honestly near sunset, extremely realistic. I had started to make some screenshots to compare to real ocean sunsets aloft but ended up taking a bunch of screenshots, including Asobo's "great" loading of RNAV (GPS) approaches haha. Anyway here's some nice views landing at Santa Maria KSMX in California. Using the Rob Young Bonanza v2 and the WorkingTitle G1000. This is, by far, the best looking ocean water I've seen in any flightsim. (And the lighting, considering default, is a…

Was thinking of getting the Aerosoft KOLN/BONN airport, so thought I'd check out the default first. Wasn't too impressed so have now gotten the AS version, but in the meantime, these are just a few shots from my intial exploration to Cologne. Once again, well impressed! Oooh look! Balconies! And I've still got the airport to explore. And Bonn. Whoever said it's a small world has obviously not tried exploring it <grin> (or painting it)

Love how the sun crests over the mountain tops as it rises. 🙂 EDIT: Here is the end of the flight....coming down from 17,000...mountains are amazing! Sun is going to be right in my eyes...turning short final... Squinting required.... Parked....going to get some breakfast...beautiful country if you like mountains! 🙂 Thanks for virtually flying with me to Bozeman. 😉

Nice bit of freeware photogrammetry. Decent colour match unlike some of these addons (not knocking them, just don't work for me)

Middle Europe is another of those areas that has never felt that wonderful in the other sims - almost totally ignored, so just fairly ugly default scenery. Time to explore! Heading north from the Greek coast on a two leg trip to Sofia. First leg is to LRPD, Plovdiv. I found it all rather splendid. All 4k images, ultra settings. Nowhere in particular, looked nice so I took the drone down to explore Ah! full-on pig-in- word probably not allowed mode!

Another recent acquisition. But a rather generous freebie, as I'd previous bought the P3D version. Nice one FSDT! And it really is a nice one. A rather splendid airport. Approaching after a brief circuit of Basel Strange, I find the interiors of airports deeply boring in RL, but strangely fascinating in the sim. This one's a beaut. Off to where the posh pixels go!
