The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Yesterday I received an e-mail from ORBX that they have partnered with a new company, called "Seafront Simulations". And as the name implies, they concentrate on populating harbors around the world with ship and leisure boat traffic. If you are interested. here is a link: https://seafrontsims.com/ Their first product covers boats around the British Channel Islands and is free. I assume that later products will be payware. Here's a first look. I take off from Guernsey. Thanks for viewing

  4. I caught this interesting repaint file, today, at the top of the Library upload list. Air Canada has launched a special livery on one of its B787-9 aircraft (C-FVLQ), just in time for the Tokyo Olympic Games. On the aircraft’s port side, “Fly The Flag” is written in big black and gold lettering, and, on the starboard side, the same lettering reads “Haut Le Drapeau”, the French expression with the same meaning. On both sides, it also says “Go Canada Go!” in all gold lettering (per the screenshots below). Please find 7 images of this special livery, and look for both the languages...on the fuselage...🙂... Enjoy...!!

This set is for you @P_7878 - 'by special request' - I'd hate you to go away disappointed <grin> I got this when it came out, kind of reluctantly. I really am not in love with the whole button-pressing lever-pulling knob-twiddling thing in the sim, but the combination of this being such a fine looking beast and the fact that is has the AFE to take care of most of the aforesaid fiddling around I thought I'd risk it. So far, I'm still much happier just looking at the thing than trying to fly it, but you never know, I might get around to it eventually. So here's my attempt to capture the SF mist / sea fog / morning cloud or whatever it actually is, with JFK o…

The Boeing 737-500 is a bit of a special member of the 737 Classic series (-300/-400/-500), being the dividing line, in the 737 lineup, past which, the 737NG range (-600+) that we've come to know so well (in our SIM or otherwise), begins. It's also special because, though, having the highest designation number, among the Classic trio, it's peculiarly the smallest (i.e. the stockiest, so to speak) of the three variants (~ 20 ft less than -400). For many operators in Eastern Europe, during modernization of their fleet, the 737-500 became a favorite e.g. for many Russian airlines, such as Rossiya Airlines, S7 Airlines, Transaero, UTair etc., all these operators buying s…

  10. In my previous post, about the Ilyushin 62M, from the reactions received, I gathered that, there are, at least, a few other aficionados, around, in this Forum, of such Russian aircraft, not just me and certain another member...🙂...though not all these folks may be flying such SIMs on the desktop. Also, in that post, for visual comparison, I'd referred to (and shown images of) the British Vickers VC10. To the un-initiated (yours truly included) in this matter of VC10 and IL-62, prompted by the (purely) visual similarity of the rear-engined quad-layout, below the T-tail, it's easy to overlook that these two planes are completely different beasts...! I was investigating, tod…

  11. So, here we are just over the border into Afghanistan, and the landscape is certainly changing. I don't know how accurate this default scenery / imagery is - I assume it's reasonably good - but the place has a desolate beauty for me. Like a lot of things on this planet, it seems a mighty shame that the human race has managed to get in here and proceed in its usual fashion to scr*w things up and make misery out of beauty. Anyway, just up from where the previous set left off Past the initial mountains I am actually in this shot but you'll need a big screen and good eyes to spot me Kabul ahead, just over t…

  15. I came across this interesting (hybrid) livery of Deutsche BA, a German subsidiary of British Airways, that was a low-cost carrier based out of Munich, Germany, and operated from 1992 through 2008. When branded as Deutsche BA, the airline operated aircraft in a livery similar to British Airways. Of course, notice the German flag on top of the tail-fin, and the triple-colored (black, red and gold) decorative cheatline, running along the length of the plane. Historical snapshot: British Airways attempted entry into other European airlines in 1992, when it purchased a 49% stake in Delta Air, a small German domestic airline, (and, later BA also acquired the remaining 5…

Sporting one of the more flamboyant 727 liveries, Kingfisher Breweries Holdings Super 27, (727-44), before it went into storage at Kingman Mohave County Airport - KIGM, USA - Arizona. It started out as ZS-EKW, South African Airways,1967-01-06 and was sold on several times to end up as part of Kingfisher Airlines, a division of an Indian Brewing conglomerate. T45 (P3D v4.5)

Another city landmarks package from Orbx, Mumbai, plus a freeware VABB ( https://flightsim.to/file/11495/vabb-chhatrapati-shivaji-international-airport-bom ). The Orbx stuff is a bit lego-like if seen in bright light, not up to their Dubai, more like down at the Brisbane level, but if you keep the atmospherics a bit dark it looks good. No idea how realistic, never been there and not much visible on Google maps/earth, but for the price, worth getting, I'd say. enjoy!

So, having discovered I'd been running in offline mode when I tried this flight before (I hadn't noticed as most of my MSFSing had been within various addon airports and I just assumed the middle east was a poorly mapped region), now that I got myself re-connected for online I went back and replayed the flight with all the scenery on and it all looks rather fine down there. I still don't claim to be a tube flyer, but thanks to the rather splendid 'get you started' tutorial @Chock put together for me, I can now at least get a flight plan loaded up into the fmc and get the AP engaged. In otherwords I know enough to be get under way and be dangerous. So here's a few sh…
