The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.
  1. Just for a bit of variety, here's me setting off in a C-17 Globemaster from Travis, intending to head to Long Beach for some upgrades. I plan to come back and actually do this flight in full and record it. so this was just a quick look at the recently acquired KSUU. Bit of an effort flying this thing, no gauges in this conversion so all a bit hit and miss. I see there's a version on flightsim.to using the 747 vc so I might try that as well. But it is one of my fav aircraft, and as ever, I'm not interested in piloting it correctly, just get it from A to B. So here's a few shots around KSUU A bit different from the Ryan.

  3. Out in the misty mid-west again. Heading out from Tinker AFB this time. I did a mainframe class for the USAF here back in the day, and they wouldn't let me onto the site. Apparently the Brits were (are?) a well know security risk so I remember staying for two weeks in a motel just across from the base. Main form of entertainment was crushing roaches. I remember coming down to the reception desk on the Saturday morning on the middle of the two weeks to ask something and the guy on the desk was totally amazed to find anybody staying there over a weekend. He did actually ask me why! I also remember that when I eventually flew out to head back home even the airport security s…

  5. Started by Rogen,

On Saturday I replaced my venerable two and a bit year old 2700X Ryzen processor with a (now) considerably less expensive 3800X and the result has been quite the surprise. Why did I choose the 3800X ? Well the nice price reduction given the 5800 series is out, plus my motherboard is an x370 Pro and the 3000 series tops the board out to the limits of its CPU support, with the CPU upgrade being a bios update and a subsequent drop in replacement. All easy peasy to do. Although the previous 2700X was no slouch, the difference of the 3800X makes the sim feel quite remarkably different, more headroom power to spare I hazard to guess. I do have SMT (threading) disabled…

MSFS default with Okawango Delta scenery from Simworksstudios and the GotGravel Obstruction mod for the default Savage Cup. I have taken off from Maun and flown to the Mombo Camp, where I planned to stay a couple of days and explore the area. Maybe I can spot the big five, maybe not… I arrive at the Mombo Camp. They have a liitle airstrip, but I was allowed to take a shortcut and land with my Savage Cub directly in front of my accomodation for the next days. Not too bad for a few days. But that rug needs fixing. It’s early next morning and I plan to tour the area. A guard tells me that an el…

Got myself the Ryan ST, and rather like it. Also (and this is for @Dominique_K) I rather like the flat midwest states a lot - no boring mountains, lots of wide open spaces - and I think they illustrate just how good the basic MSFS scenery can look. So this was a 30 minute trip west out of KGLD, Renner Goodland Mun on the western edge of Kansas off towards Colorado. Now this is really low n'slow! I guess the appeal for me is just the whole wide open spaces thing. Here in the UK you won't find much flat open land for more than a mile without coming across another village or community of some sort. We don't do "horizon". I decided the pilot's na…

  14. I caught an upload file today, in the Library, of these two classic and interesting (long-haul) propliners.... CL-44, was the license-built version, by Canadair, of the Bristol Britannia (see next). It's seen below in the livery of Loftleiðir, otherwise known as Icelandic Airlines (not to be confused with Icelandair). The airline operated between 1944-1979. Loftleiðir was the only passenger operator of the Canadair CL-44J variant, the largest passenger aircraft flying over the Atlantic Ocean at that time. Loftleiðir marketed the CL-44J under the name "Rolls-Royce 400 Prop Jet" (see marking on the Tail, in the image, below). Bristol Britannia, a 4-engine turb…

  23. Following up, here, on my Cessna 140 (wheeled version), please see my earlier post, I note, that Aeroplane Heaven (AH), in their nice C140 package, have also included a floatplane model of this Classic Cessna. So, find below, a collection of pictures: first a few shots of the Float C140 lifting off the (fjord) waters of the Norwegian Sea, and, next, sample images from an extremely scenic Nordic airport, Narvik, Framnes, (ENNK), and its vicinity. The airport, however, is now permanently closed (since April 1, 2017). The closure was attributed to the construction of the new Hålogaland bridge, which opened December 2018, and shortened the journey to the larger (and nearby) H…
