The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Barrow / Utqiaġvik or Post-Rogers Memorial Airport is the farthest north airport of any in US territory. Alert, Nunavut, is a Canadian Forces airport and the northernmost airport in the world. The flight was done under live weather conditions. The C-17 is freeware and available from the .to site. We are in the middle of nowhere, yet I’m (again) amazed how realistic the terrain looks in MSFS (I have never been here, but I have seen a few documentaries on TV that gave me the idea for this flight) Thanks for viewing

Still enjoying the PC-12, fixes are up to number 20 (in categories), even the manual boost lever has a click sound now (was previously slient due to a coding bug). Just a few more to go and logging will be empty of errors for this aircraft 🙂 Of course the last ones are always the most difficult... but getting there. Found a new livery too, quite an interesting one at that. Cheers PS - one more, this one is showing the GPU and CPU loading as well as the 30 Hz vsync. GPU memory use is quite low, that said it is completely possible to max out the memory use, however I choose to not apply such a high mem use tune.

Haven't been doing screenshots in a while. Got myself a big HDR monitor about 6 months back, and then various other issues with the sim plus a bunch of non-sim activity in the workshop, but may be now heading back to getting some shots I like the look of. Problem has been trying to get things settled down and get some colours I'm happy with, plus being able to get decent SDR images off the HDR screen. Seems like the screen grab function on the X-Box game bar does a reasonable job, so if it's consistent, I might be able to start getting some screen grabs again. Here's the first one I've been happy with for a while - Coming round the North Wales coast on the …

Just trying a few more screenshots. They are losing a bit of the original quality of light and colour in the grab as SDR from the original HDR flight, but they're probably acceptable, so I'll post this lot. This is using the new KIND from DDT. I've found them a mixed bag in the past, and not cheap, but they do tend to do stuff nobody else bothers with, and KIND is actually pretty nice. And the surrounding area is quite well done in MSFS as well so worth a visit. These are all 4k, ultra, LOD 400, and I'm using the Google Map replacement tool nowadays as well (and really enjoying it). And I'm really enjoying the Carenado C170. Had it a while, not been using it much but some…

[1] Hybrid liveries are fascinating (see Steve D's post titled "Hybrids"). Such liveries can happen e.g., when an airline is leasing a/c from another airline but chooses to paint the leased plane only partially in its own color (leaving the rest in the color of the original airline). TUI/Thomson Airways/Sunwing is a great example of it. TUI (group) is a major shareholder in Sunwing, and also owns Thomson Airways and TUIfly, with 8 aircraft currently on lease to Sunwing. The owning entity (TUI group) is essentially sharing spare a/c capacity around these group of airlines, leading to interesting amalgamation of livery colors. Likewise, another airline, I came across, …

Enjoying the freeware Hawker Hunter and did a test run from Lossiemouth AB, Scotland ( EGQS) to Karmoy, Norway ( ENHD) to check it out. Nice to fly, fast, quality cockpit details. Old school nav etc. It's a little twitchy and I had a pretty wobbly approach at the recommended speed of 150 kt. Full drop tanks may not have helped.... Lots of cool liveries. Relive the jet age!

Since a while ago, having spotting pictures, here, of Valdez in winter, I've been also meaning to (virtually) fly PAVD (Valdez Pioneer Field Airport) in the dead of winter (in the past, I've flown around Valdez but in Spring season). For this post, I then wished to further enhance my experience by going back to the largest Ski-equipped a/c I've in my hangar (the Lockheed Hercules "LC-130" variant). Indeed, on record, the LC-130 is the largest aircraft to be ever fitted with retractable ski–wheels (see pictures below). The complete ski set of this Hercules weighs an astounding 2.8 tons, per the British/American measure, (or 2.5 tonnes, per the equivalent metric measure, al…
