The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Actually, I wanted to fly straight from here to Skagway, but there are so many really interesting spots around this area that need to be visited that I decide to take the slow approach. Yes, I will get to Skagway…eventually 🙂🙂 First let us check out “Rusty Barge” It’s a freeware scenery available at the .to site That’s the barge that gave this place its name Did I say that this fantastic scenery add-on is freeware Let’s slowly head north towards our next stop. The island ahead of us is the Sullivan Island and I fly along the Chilkat Inlet Before I land f…

I start at a small strip north of Lindau on the northern, German side of Lake Constance and fly to St. Gallen-Altenrhein on the southern, Swiss side of the lake. Lots of wine growing activity in this area Above the picturesque city of Lindau This is, where the Rhine river enters Lake Constance We have reached Swiss airspace Those two heavies have no business here Thanks for viewing

Some screenshots from LFNJ Aspres Sur Buech (elevation: 2726 feet MSL (831 m MSL). This small aerodrome is located in the Hautes-Alpes department in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. The aerodrome of Aspres-sur-Buëch is unusual in the sense that it is positioned on a small plateau. Some pilots call it "the aircraft carrier" because the landing on this ground could look like a deck. I hope that the images are of interest 🙂.

Winthrop Massachusetts. East of Boston and maybe 1 air mile from KBOS. Approaching the former island from Logan, this island was the setting for The Scarlet Letter. The beach where I used to jog to keep in shape, it's called Shore Drive. My first school, I went here from grades 1 through 6. It's now condos. This school was literally mere yards from the house I lived in. You can see how close this town was from KBOS. The Fort Heath condos. This place used to be a WW2 fort and as a kid, before they built these condos I'd explore the underground tunnels. But after they built these condos, as a very lonely child I'd fly m…

[This is bit of a research article; I've been lately thinking about. Please read on if interested, or jump to the 2 sets of Heron pictures below...] First, regarding my Title, no, this post has no connections either to the species of birds called Heron or to the great American pop song "Georgia on My Mind"...that rhymes with it....🙂...Triggered by a couple of (recent) posts here, about the DH.104 Dove and DH.114 Heron, I've been lately roaming, in my virtual world, across the deserts and the skies of the Australian Outback...visualizing e.g., the 2 phases of Gold Rush that would impact the course of Australian history and demographics in a most profound manner, and the …

With the Bell 407 and Lower Manhattan heliport available since the last update, I find myself hovering all over the Big Apple. It´s become my favorite pasttime 😀 So here are a few pics of my - in real life certainly absolutely non tolerable - flights above and through the streets of New York. Hope you enjoy them.

The (collective) history of the 3-leading commercial (Jet) Engine makers of the world, symbolized (PW/RR/GE), is quite fascinating, each of the trio, while in (perpetual) competition with each other, have had the most distinguished records of achievements, of their own, shaping the history of aircraft and aviation...constantly trying to outdo each other for the bragging rights...to this very day...while trying to woo the world's two largest aircraft manufactures...🙂... This post reflects bits of study into Rolls-Royce and one of its most (famous) Jet engines, the "RB211", one, that has always fascinated me...and was, in fact, the subject of a remark by Jack S., here…

Finally I can share my thoughts... The initial release of this addon was not pretty. I had low fps after a short while, an electrical system that completely died, a semi frozen CDI needle paired with the GTN (and no lpv glidepath), and low power on initial departure (and or low ASI reading). It was a hangar queen for the last two months. I'm happy to report that Carenado has recently released a patch, version 1.1, that has fixed these issues for me. It did take a while (we know the marketplace is fairly slow so it's not completely Carenado this time). I am finally able to enjoy this aircraft. And I do recommend it! It's fast, all weather capable including Flig…
