version_2_11.htm states that 'By adding this line in the init_voices.txt file, you can specify, 200 miles from the destination airport, Pause Flight Simulator' This was a major selling point for me.I found the line in the init_voices.txt, but what is the precise syntax to use?

I just completed my first RC flight using RC2.2 and Nav3. Everything went well but I couldn't understand why everything was so quiet on the radio. It dawned on me I enabled ATC Chatter but heard nothing, just my own ATC commands. I checked the documentation and realized that ATC chatter is only available through various add-ons. Where can I find these add-ons and what ones are available? Also, are there any other add-ons available to increase the realism that I should know about? Thanks. :-wave

  3. while flying in Norway with RC2.2 I heard some chatter and some ATC instructions to my plane in voices which sounded as if the tape/record was running at the wrong speed. I haven't heard this effect before. Is this a known problem with the Norway chatter files perhaps?

Some fun with FS2002's version of ATC!:-lol :-lol I was practicing landings the other night in the 737-400 and requested a touch and go.ATC cleared me for the touch and go. I touched down, slowed a bit, was quickly running out of runway soooo.....I hit F1, then the forward slash (/)key, hit the flaps lever several times, applied full throttle, and took off again. FS2K2

i wanted to spend some time, telling you about the enhancements to version 3 that are done. this is by no means a complete list, but a short list, which might generate some questions/dialog1) departure and descent clearances. very predictable. 15000-230-330 and 350-240-pd-10000. well that has changed. between each of these, we now have "baby" steps. sometimes you get them, sometime you don't. makes it more unpredictable, and more realistic.2) no longer will you be able to traverse the memphis airspace on the same frequency. you will be handed off from controller to controller while in the same airspace3) you will not be able to fly cross country, on the same transponder c…

When taxing to the runway, occasionally I notice an aircraft just in front of me holding short at the same runway.. The aircraft can sit there the entire time and never move ..there is never any clearance for the aircraft to take off. Instead with me waiting directly behind it, I'm given permission to taxi onto the runway for take off...So what do I do? I find myself taxing around the other aircraft just to get to the runway...Is there anyway around this...I'm I doing something wrong? PLease help!!Troy

OK I admit I am not a good flyer, so I tend to wander of course. RC2.2 lets me know, without sparing my blushes, and then tells me to turn onto a heading that seems totally wrong.Yesterday I was flying Orly - London and went wide on the sharp turn onto 278 (or thereabouts). I was told of the error and asked to stear 105!! I ignored the message and steared to rejoin the track. From then on until just before landing I was repeatedly asked to turn onto an ever more southerly heading. I even requested, and was accepted for, 'direct to the next waypoint' to force the situation and try and clear the problem. But still I was prompted to turn back.I have had this before and my re…

Hi Guys,This is a snippet from a reply on the thread I started titled "Advisories". This reply is in regard to the way FSMeteo is handling weather conditions and how it is planned to handle them in a future upgrade...FSMeteo will store the conditions from these nearby stations in a buffer so you can query them. So, this got me to thinking that since version three will be able to support alternate airports, it may be good to be able to provide a function through RC to check weather at your alternate prior to diverting to make sure it still meets alternate minimums. It's generally not a good idea to divert only to find the weather at the alternate is in the tank once you a…

Hi!If the weather of arrival airport is not good,ATC instructs to hold over final fix point and fly around about 2 times. But when even the weather is not so bad, ATC request to holdagain and again. If the weather was not so bad, can we use any options that I can direct final fix point without holding. Does anybody know this? Please tell me.Thank you for your help.

Howdy guys,Just me with another "bright idea". I can hear the groans now! :7I always seem to get these flashes of inspiration as I'm working my flights. I realize that this is probably a day late and a dollar short for the suggestion box but you can always file it for the next version. Was just thinking about the possibility of the tower controller issuing wind shear advisories if conditions warrant.Mike CollierKPHX

http://avsim.com/flightdeck/images/Radar_small.gifhttp://www.dispatcher.org|Dispatcher' target="_blank"> America West Airlines and proud to be a Beta Tester of[link:www.jdtllc.com]Radar Contact]The …

Dave,Just in case you didn't fall off the island, I'll post this in case you didn't get my e-mail.I sent you some images of the 2K2 767 repaint concept but never heard back. I am also now doing a repaint of Mike Stone's A320 along with my GuardRail repaint. If you want that, let me know. It looks sharp as well.I can get you just about all your current fleet, and some other aircraft as well, for 2K2. The turboprop will need to be replaced. Won't take a long time to repaint, depending on which concept you like.If you did fall off the island, I'll do a life-preserver repaint and send it to you overnight post. ;-)

Ok, would need a little help. After reading all the forum pages have not found an answer to my problem. First of all i have the cd version of 2.2 and installed it. When I go to read the instructions, my computer does a search and says that it can't find these files, it does a search of my pc. So first where are the insturctions at, if not on the pc why have this on your start menu bar?2nd. I compile the flight go into fs2002 load it all up and then I get the voice telling me how real it is and then nothing else. Can't get anything to come up on the menue bar (example: looking for pushback nothing is there) all of a sudden otto says, I have the com. Otto then goes to …

When I fly most RC2.2 adventures I utilize the autopilot for the comm portion of the flight. Until recently all was well, however for my last 3 flights when Jamie / Otto requests "leaving frequency to get weather" the destination weather is not obtained....simply silence for 30 seconds or so and then an announcement of returning to approachfrequency.Would appreciate any thoughts / help on what may be causing the issue with obtaining destination weather. Thanks

Greetings,I just ordered a new Gateway Model 700S desktop, 2.26mhz, 256 ram, 64 mb video card, Windows XP Home operating system. I have right now been flying with my Dell Pentium 400, 8mb video card, and a CH Products Virtual Pilot Pro Flight Yoke.Does anyone have a good opinion on what flight yoke or joystick would go good for flying with FS2002 and of course RC99?I see CH Products has a USB version of a newer Flight Yoke available, and of course Microsoft has their Joysticks, does anyone use either of these and could they give me a good opinion on using either one of those, I must admit I prefer flying with a Flight Yoke than a Joystick, but if the joystick was a better…

Hi all. I just received my RC CD and today flew a trial run from my hometown of KSTL to PHNL. RC worked quite well, but I found that as the flight progressed, the frame rates decreased, even in areas with virtually no clouds. Normally my frame rates are around 29 fps, but with RC running, they averaged around 12 fps, and for extended periods they dropped to 4 fps.On another issue, almost immediately after contacting approach, and without a vector being issued (only a 7000 ft altitude clearance was received), Otto Pilot turned the plane around 180 degrees and began flying back where we came from. No further clearance was received and I finally had to end the adventure.…

Jamie did a great JobBut now I activate the AP with heading and alt and turn the plane over to her. Although it's a standard fs2002 (cessna 172) plane nothing happens, she won't respond to any command.Well she does respond but only for com ops and readbacks. Using nav3 as a planner she will not take control of the plane as she did before. Yes she has done her job, but it looks she on strike now.Anyone??
