My aircraft panels aren't displaying correctly in FU3. They have huge black sections running through them, and this obscures virtually all of the dials and switches. Some idiot disputed the content of the FU3 wikipedia page back in March 2008. I read the text (which seems perfectly accurate to me), and then posted a response :(

Hey Folks,Been spreading myself a bit thin here for a while now, but I have still been doing stuff in the background :( I hope everyone has a good holiday break this year. In the light of all of the gloom & doom around the place financially, our family have decided to make it 'all about the people' (like it always should have been), so we're actually taking the time to catch up and renew old friendships again. In the last few weeks I've met relatives I never knew I had and friends that I thought had moved on!Tomorrow's Christmas Dinner* will be the first time in nearly 20 years that we've all been together. Sometimes it takes a 'leveller' to bring everyone back to the…

Right, I know I am asking a question asked countless times before, but I would like a rock solid answer.I have got FU3 with seattle but not san-fran. I would like to add UK to it, but here are my questions:1) Can I have a FU3 with seattle in it and a FU3 with UK in it?2) Where do I get the main UK files (the 14+GB files)3) What extra's should I download?4) Does it work on Vista (probably 64bit as its a new computer)thanks in advance for any answers, and I apologise for the repeated questions.-\eeveeman/-

After two years and three months in many hospitals and nursing homes in the Los Angeles area, I am finally home again. But home is no longer southern California, as I am now a resident of Oregon. From suburbia to a forest, it is glorious.I did not expect to still be listed as a moderator here. Thank you, AVSIM.It has been so long since I've used a computer that I feel like a novice. I am currently using a Sony laptop that was given to me, and have no sims available. My old computer is "out in the barn", probably dead. I will start from scratch here after I get settled in.Greetings to all my old friends here! I hope some are still around.[table][tr][td valign=top]http://ww…

How to modify existing objects located in ../gen/modelmip.tagFor a new scenery I need a modified object named baseba30.bin.I found it in the modelmip.tag file in the /gen folder of the FU3 region. If you don't find a model as .bin file in the /gen folder then you have to use tagview.exe modelmip.tag to see the content of this object collection.or you can try to extract it directly bytagseek.exe modelmip.tag baseba30.bintagseek, modelmip.tag and the result baseba30.bin are then all in the same folder. Now when you open baseba30.bin with ModelView you will see the missing mip maps as error.Knowing the needed .mip you can extract it bytagseek modelmip.tag stand4.mipmodelmip.ta…

Its amazing how expectations change. When I started making scenery I was happy with a rough colour match (FIXMIP fixed that), small muddy textures, generic buildings, simplest designs. I still can't use proper 3D modelling tools (like Jon, glidernut, agtim etc), but make do with text editing.A few things have stayed constant - a belief that the default models are unrealistic and unacceptable, that "overtexturing" (my own term, meaning replacing ground textures with flat improved textures) is important when you fly low, and that for flying close to the ground "verticality" (again my own term, meaning making things LOOK 3d)is important. When I stopped working on Seattle and s…

I apologize if this has been addressed before on this forum, but I searched and couldn't find a reference to it:When I turn on the autopilot with an altitude lock (only), and then switch to the F5 external view, invariably after a short time (usually under 30 seconds) the autopilot goes berserk. Usually it puts the plane in a steep dive. I have to turn off the autopilot to recover (if I haven't slammed into the ground first). The workaround is to always turn off the autopilot before switching to the external view, but that's easy to forget.Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a fix? I have flown Flight Unlimited 3 (with the Flight 2 scenery added) off and on…

I've added this to the Severn scenery district in recent months.Added scenery: GLoucester city, detail on wharfs, Sharpness canal, church.Airport: accurate as I can make it using downloaded AIS diagrams, had to make some new objects to get close. Three interlocking runways. I need a vacation. Lots of helicopter pads - just when I finished them I noticed the new pads look different. Too late. Start from Glidernuts hangar, past CT and new refuelling stands, take off on main runway (27) pointing at cathedral.and there'll be at least one pendant who'll say - how come the cloister's on the wrong side and the main tower's goto a spire? To which I reply, don'cha know your 'istory…

Hi,I have recently installed FUIII on my notetbook computer to use when I want to do some simming aways from my desktop. On my notebook I am using a game controller for flying and would like to use the Z axis for the rudders. This axis is set to throttle by default.I tried adding;rudder_device 1 3 to the flt3.cfg file but nothing happens. In experimenting, I cannot seem to get any of the default axises to change in FUIII either on my notebook or desktop. It is like the device settings in the flt3.cfg file have no effect.Just thought I'd post here and see if anyone had any ideas? Thanks.
