Mani thanks for this work Dave ! It's take some time to install it for me, because my Seattle region is expanded to the north up to Friday Harbor / Anacortes and so 76s is an inner airport for me. I had to move airport and models to new coordinates then it's not just done by moving the files from inner to outer folder :-). If you move the files only, you will see nothing :-)The name of the tiles will change and the distances between left bottom corner of the tile too. Using the move function of FLEDViewer and AirportEditor a coarse setting was done. After flattening parts of the area and runway I have moved the objects to fit the exact position of the high resolution back…

Hi all. Here's some more rules for you, done rather more elegantly than Portland (I must have learnt something). Lots of sage scrub, a lake and agricultural land. I'm sure you know where to put them. If not, you'll have to wait a few days: they're in a new package I'm just testing prior to upload, Grant Co Intl, see screenie below. It's odd that the new graphics card's anti-aliasing works fine in the sim, but has no effect on FU3 screenshots. You will notice the horrible striped sky has gone (it's an Nvidia).I know I mentioned the Pacific coast, and Salem, but rather typically, I decided to go somewhere completely different instead...// COLUMBIA BASIN DM 2011.01.03// FOR U…

After the huge work of Jonathan I have start a new build of the Outer Terrain Viewer that will support 13 or 26 textures. There are more functionality also. You can convert a tga map into a gtl file, check all gtl files in the folder on correct size and import all gtl files into an outtag.tag file as a gtl data update. After the import you don't need the gtl files and all new terrain definitions are inside the outtag.tag file. This will reduce the file open/close during the flights. Now using Jonathan's 26 textures and the latest rules ( see topic Portland rules in this forum ) I have generated the 2460 gtl files and then imported all into the outtag.tag files A,B,C and D,E…

How do, all.I'll be dropping off a set of rules here in the next few days. I'm behind schedule now- daughter didn't leave home so we're still squabbling over PC time. The thing that's taking most time now is correcting minor anomalies caused by a new set of transitions, and some odd colour matches (I don't think LGS worried much about colour matching description...).If I can fit it in, I'll post the full rules.txt or maybe chop it up into two or three posts in this thread. It has a number of other user modifications too- lakes, rivers and textures around various airports. They're not all my work (but they are credited) so I'm not willing to upload, just to post the text. …

Has anyone been able to get the original Flight Unlimited for Windows 95 running on Windows 7? I can't seem to get past the splash screen. It plays the engine start sound and then just quits back to the desktop. I set all the compatibility options and they didn't seem to help:Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 95Run in 256 colorsRun in 640 x 480 screen resolutionDisable visual themesDisable desktop compositionDisable display scaling on high DPI settingsRun this program as an administrator

Hello all.I've just uploaded a bug-fix for wallawalla090710.zipI discovered that using one of Tomi Lehto / John Wilding's lighted taxiway signs as a moving object for a sound can cause very odd resizing of all instances of that sign if you use the command sign_scale in your flight3.cfg. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone else has noticed the bug...The fix moves the sound to a traffic cone nearby so the sign resizing works as it should. You could just delete the moving object but it's a sky lark and they're on the endangered list now so best to keep one around.(I submitted A J Eisenberg as well if you fancy it.)Regards,Dave

That is, unless you keep pulling the stick back, then they get bigger again.3 Flying isn,t dangerous. This is a fine package Dave. Thank you. I went and poked around via Bing Birdseye view. You captured it just right. Before install I renamed LGS' version and flew there so I could compare. Yours is a vast improvement. I do wonder though why they ".die'd" it out. Any guesses? It (thiers) didn't seem to error on me, so got me wondering why.You folks really ought to install Daves. 16. Didn't need to mess with the .bin, just converted the .gif's from the T1G pal to Sea pal then used RobD's FixMip4.4 to make the mips. The object doesn't light at night, but at least the little red sfx at top kind of glows (between those two crescents). Hello again,The other question, since now I can actually fly FU3 for more than 20 minutes. When flying Lars Peter Galaasen's United Express B1900D, in beech1900d.zip, I noticed I can't set the transponder when given a squawk code by ATC. When I start the plane up, the gauge shows the expected default 1200 but when I try to set the signal ordered by ATC I find the range of frequencies available is 0190 to 1605. This matches an NDB receiver. Could anyone tell me how to change that attribute of a gauge? In primary school language?Cheers,Dave

Hi one and all,Iv put the Seattl cave chalange back in the library after its being mising for several yers.If there is any one around hear that has not tryed it bifor, then I recomend you go get it.Explorers have found a large cave under the Seattle mountains, and our engineers have found a way to give you access. Just fly throuw the whight hoop on the side of the mountain into the ground, just like youv seen the AI airtrafic do it. Its ok, you wont crash, trust me.The way out is the same, a whight hoop on the wall of the cavern. Also, you might try flying thouw any hoops you find, thay do things, but be cairfall, you mightnot get out aliv.Sum of the hoops are dificalt to…

Hi everyoneI've just uploaded the final version of my Outer Terrain textures to the library. This version contains a complete set of 26 textures (25 land, 1 water) and includes water transition tiles for 13 of the 25 land textures. Adding water transitions for the other land textures would take forever so I picked 13 of the most likely and obvious candidates and ignored the remainder. I had hoped to complete the water transitions in April but I've been abroad for the last 4 months and didn't get chance to complete them before I went.I haven't had time to create a new rules.txt file but maybe someone could have a bash at this? I think Dave Morgan was planning to have a go …

Hi all,Finally got my graphics card back into the world of faster-than-a-glacier and reinstalled everything I was playing with half a year's hiatus ago. I've found some matters I can't resolve without help though. How can I stop the scene below from happening? This shot is of a BJ flying circuits around Lake Tahoe and into the adjacent snowy mountainside. I suspect it may be possible to specify a min cruise alt for certain AI legs by altering values in aiplan.txt but is it possible to modify a circuit, or a flight to an unspecified waypoint such as a fictitious airport (Narita, Mexico City et c.)?All suggestions gratefully received (I'll take anything...).Regards,Dave

Yes we can hav animated MIPs and animated models too, but so far only in a chalange. For exampl, Iv got all the models in this picture mooving properly and REALISTICLY. The blaids on the 2 wind generator models are rotating verticaly, and not only that but eech individual model can be speeded up or slowd doun, for persanal preferance. Thear is no limit to how slowd thay can go, but drive them to fast and thay just stop ded. So this metherd is no good for very fast things lick a the propeler on a plain in flight, but a slower propeler licke that of a plain on the ground might be ok. The blaids of a helicopter on the ground would be good, aspeshaly if …
