I am so enjoying FU3+FU2 in winXP and with a voodoo5 that I installed a standalone FU2. It works perfect except that the scattered and broken clouds don't display properly with the driver I have (AmigaMerlin 3.1). The transparecies on the clouds show as black rectangles. If I keep the 3dfx driver that winXP installs automatically, the clouds display properly. But with this driver I can't get 3dfx Tools to work to apply antialiasing. Any users of voodoo5 have any solution?

As I mentioned in my other thread titled "Back to FU3 skies", I have found the original Looking Glass sim boxes of FU3 and FU2. Inside and in addition to the English FU3 manual (which I am keeping, sorry!!), there is another brand new manual in a language I can't tell and am too lazy to try to find out. I will just type some words for you to tell: Welkom in de wereld van FU3. Deze vliegsimulator is gemaakt om jou. Maybe Danish? Anyway if anyone is interested let me know and I will happily mail it by post.

Hello everyone, i would like to ask if anyone would be interested in a VA for flight unlimited users, as i have been thinking of starting one, I have thought it out quite a bit, and i have a rough idea of what it would be like. I will post more details if you are interested. I am also interested if theres anyone out there that could repaint some planes for it :( .I know this topic is a bit short, but im tired :( so im just waiting to see if theres any interest....~Foxtrident

I was just wondering if you guys would like me to upload the Seattle 2006 and SanFran 2006 packages to my new MediaFire account? They were originally available from FileFront, but were removed (without my permission) because nobody had downloaded them for a while. I have no idea if they are available in the AVSIM Library, but even if they are, the chances are that I made a few extra tweaks and upgrades subsequently. Just give me the word, and I will do it immediately :)

Dear all,apologies if this has been covered before - I couldn't seem to find it....I've installed FU3 on win 7, applied the patch and several mods (ie Chris Low's Sanfran / Seattle) and am just wondering if there is a way i can increase the resolution? (i.e. write in the script somewhere??)Also, I'm about to unzip and install the sea0801.zip and sea0802.zip scenery packs....would i be correct to assume these files overwrite Chris Low's scenery (eg the packages folder for example)?Thanks for the assistance, much appreciated!

Hi all,Some years ago I started a project to extract, modify and rebuild night light tiles for FU. The project kind of stalled because I got too busy, and my beta tester disappeared somewhere.Any 'ow, I got to thinking that it is probably a shame to keep it to myself if there is anyone in the FU community who thinks they can use it. So I am prepared to upload it to the library "as is" with the limited documentation. It will take me some time to pull it all together, so unless there is a need, I will spend my time doing other stuff.The major hurdle with the concept is that FU only supports night lighting up to row/column AZ. I've had another crack a creating a l0xxxx.gtl editor, this time as a standalone program that allows you to change terrain textures by applying altitude based rule changes. Basically, it's a visual version of what FU3 does through the RULES.TXT file. You can use this with the default 13 textures or with my extended 26 textures.The Editor converts l0xxxx.gtl files and their corresponding l5xxxx.geo elevation files to 512x512 bitmaps and displays useful information when moving the mouse across the main display, i.e. Min Alt, Max Alt, Alt Range, Alt Index, Texture and so on. I recently installed FU2 and FU3 for the first time on my Windows Vista laptop thanks to the posts in this forum, I can't believe they both work pretty well lol. I bought both new when each came out, and haven't flown them in years. Especially enjoying FU2 again, for some reason I like it more than FU3. This was just a conversion test of my GMAX 3ds AN-2 model as SketchUp import an the exposed in Google Earth at the real life starting place.Unfortunately this model will not be part of the Google Earth 3D Collection ( it must be a building )so if you want to see it there, you must download this DonauAirAN2.kmzand copy/paste it into your opened Google Earth View. The model will then be set at the correct location and the view will move there.You can save the model into your Google Earth Profile also.Andre

I've been looking into ways to obtain an FU3 version of CYVR. As far as I can glean there's no FS custom version to convert since all stock FS version were pretty well made in the first place. X-Plane has a good stock version of CYVR as well. Unless there's an "other sim" freeware version to convert we should create it from scratch. Whether one uses a hi-res version of the terrain (full hi-res extension) or the extended OT terrain version the airport package itself will fit both. Firstly, allow me to apologise for my newbieness and naivety on this subject...Am I missing something here... can you edit the so called 'outer regions' that appear in FU III as private fields on FLED, or must if be done separately and imported to FLED.Also, there's all these scenery topics in this forum, but I never see any links despite others thanking them for the link... can you only view them after a certain amount of time/posts?

Someone has just posted a message in the Hangar Chat section of the forum, indicating that he is having problems installing FU3 with Windows XP. In short, Disks 2 and 3 do not appear to be recognised during the installation process. I never had a problem installing FU3 with Windows XP, but maybe some of you guys did? If so, do you have a solution?

The 80 tiles needed for the Seattle region expansion up to Vancouver are now finished and are in test now.Will upload when all is OK.To help the building of megatiles for high resolution of this region I have generated about 80 .KML files producing a square of the corner coordinates in Google Earth so it's easy to locate the correct area. As I flew the Beechjet today I noticed a flickering line along the top of the fuselage. I suspected a slight 3D surface issue and decided to export the fuselage and check it out in AC3D. I got it exported by converting it to *.cob and then converting it to .ac. Now I could scrutinize it in AC3D and consider minor changes. The flickering line seems to be a case of unconnected surfaces. That's easy to fix. The engines have 8 surfaces -- not quite enough to make a convincing circle. I have just installed Flight Unlimited (this is the first, aerobatic, version ). Years ago, FU was the reason I bought a PC in the first place. At one time I had a file with a keyboard map showing the key commands for this simulator but I have been unable to locate it. I installed Jonathan Stonehouse's enhanced outer terrain by means of Agtim's "fully generated" upload. The OT looks fine and everything works but I've noticed a warning when FLED launches. I choose to ignore and it works. (Juvat's lighthouse has been placed where it should be and it looks great!) I'm just wondering whether the OT terrain upgrade has introduced files that give FLED a hiccup. If so, I'll just keep ignoring the warning.

I have recently come back to flight unlimited 3.I now have a saitek yoke and throttle and a set of CH pedels.I cant for the life of me get the pedels to work in FU3I have read a few posts on here about diffrent control settings in the fu3.cfg file. None of these are working. Infact changeing settings make things worse, and a loose all my controls and im resorted to default settings.Would anyone have any way to help?

Hi.Well, nearly there.My installation has one remaining fault. When I fly from a SanFran region airport and ask Approach for Vectors ILS to an OT airport she always comes back with '...this will be vectors direct, [XXX]'.For a while this was happening in all flights from all regions. I mostly cured it by finding a couple of fbo.cfg and fbo.cfs files with non-existent runways (something Fled seems to like doing) and editing them in notepad. It seems to have had a beneficial effect on the quantity and variety of AI too, presumably because the files now refer to so many more runways.I've been through my 171 airports (3 regions) and their cfg & cfs files all now appear to…
