I have uploaded a Seattle scenery object for use with FLED,in reply to JimmiG's request.I welcome feedback on it - I can make other simple objectsbut don't have 3DStudio or anything fancy to make these with.See ya up there (I'm the one with the blazing landing lights, strobes, nav and beacons all flashing at once)Robert.

There is no doubt Flight Unlimited III provides a fairly realistic feeling as far as flying general aviation aircraft is concerned. However, there are some places the game skips reality and favors playability; make no mistake, these do NOT affect the experience at all. Most every prop-driven aircraft in the sim (except the Cessna 172) requires gently reducing power at the risk of cracked heads. For instance, the Mooney requires about a 1" of manifold pressure per minute reduction, and the DC-3 about 1" of manifold pressure per 1,000 ft. with a prop rpm reduction coinciding or the propellors will drive the engine, starving the main bearings of oil.So, my question, in the fo…

Hi. I played around a little bit with FLED today. I haven't used the program much at all.I'm editing Bonny Doon Village according to an aerial photo that I found over the airport. I think I'm getting the hang of it, but there's one problem that I have. How do I place a 3D object from the Seattle region into the sanfran region? If I edit sanfran, only objects that show up in the original sanfran scenery are there. Basically I want to import the tress and the house objects from Seattle, into the Sanfran region. I assume I will need to copy over some files or change some setting in a config file? Also, is it possible to add fences using FLED? There is usually a fence around ai…

Hello Pete, I've completed 21 new megatiles of UK. This time it's a rectangle going from London City, to Marlborough, to Redlynch, to Cuckfield (more or less). There are 16 airports in this rectangle. The only one I've identified is Gatwick! Now the region I've done is 112x96 Km = more than 10.000 square Km!!!The pictures are all to scale.1- Is near Burghclere.2- Near Heath End.3- North of Fleet.4- North of Woking.5- North-East of Woking.6- East of Worplesdon.7- Between Amesbury and Salisbury more or less.8- South of Ludgershall.9- South-East of Overton.10- Near Herriard.11- Near Odiham.12- Near Aldershot.13- Near Reigate.14- Gatwick.15- Near Stockbridge.16- South of Cranl…

Well, I was finally able to successfully earn money and not get fined. Departure Olympia, Pod Sanderson. The payoff was $2000.00.I should say semi-successful, as I "cheated". The Beechjet is just to much aircraft for me to deal with in Df/x, so changed planes to the C182. Finally was able to follow the commands correctly and fly/ land at the pod with-out fines. Previously had been getting fined for mistakes while trying to control the Beechjet, or to hard on that, forget step/s in the commands.I suppose I should see if there's a way to lower the payoff amounts, to compensate for the passengers flying in a C182 instead of the luxury of a Beechjet.Another thing to do I supp…

Hi, today I was testing the new area I added, and I noticed that the compass was indicating an incorrect heading... Something to do with region.cfg's coordinates, I thought... And I was only little wrong. Anyway, after some trial-and-error, I found a value to change in region.cfg to fix this error: The linereg_north 1.27409035must be changed to reg_north 1.70409035So the heading is almost correct... For example, on Stansted's Runway 23, the heading is now 228, as it should.Bye,CristianP.S. So no one can help me with the airports? (see my other post)...

I'm still playing with my interpretation of the Baron cockpit. Here's an unfinished front right quarter view bitmap, reduced to 50% and converted to a JPG for uploading. The whole idea is to get the correct view from the pilot's seat.best regards,Hans Petter

Seeing that Hans Petter is working on better cockpit views for the Baron has got me updating the Baron panel. What I need is someone to add a working second engine 5-way starter switch. The #1 works OK, but the #2 only works in the on and start position. New panel will be based on my last one with some updated features and a lower VFR panel. Thanks

LOGBOOKS:It seems the FU3 logbook is limited to 100 entries - my last entry was 99 and now it keeps on giving me entry 10 to modify. A lot of this logbook is taken up with mishaps (I have 71 takeoffs and 31 crashes to my credit. Maybe I shouldn't start an airline), but much of this is junk flights like mistakes on takeoff. Is it possible to write a logbook editor - to clean up these 1 minute flights?I looked at the .log file and its mostly blank space. If I could edit it then maybe it would get the FAA off my back.FOKKERA long time ago in a galaxy ...(sorry, wrong thread) someone sent missing views to the unflyable default Fokker, which I installed using resviewer, and eve…

Thanks to glidernut for the evario! I have at last installed and am using it, and the bit about restarting your flight where you left off is a breakthrough for FU3 - now long flights can be planned (and I think all gliding implies long flights).Only one flight so far - took off from Gray's AirForce Base, motored to the mountains west of the Olympia airport, and (after stopping the program for dinner) hung around there as the sun set. The plane's still up there - I had to go to bed. Over 90% of time gliding, using the default glider (old instrument panel). I love gliding around the hills further west - some of those steep hills are like express elevators. And I have glided…

Well I just got back from Oshkosh, and the is really no way to describe it. There was so much there, I can't fit it into one post. I was there for two days so I only got to see a fraction of what was there. If you ever get the chance go you won't regret it. It is unbelievable how many aircraft are there, you could find almost any plane you ever wanted to see Warbirds, Vintage, Experimental, Seaplanes, and of course hundreds of general aviation aircraft. While I was there I was able to tour two B-17's, two DC-3's, a Super Constellation, and a C-130. I wanted to tour the 747 that was there but the line was too long. The aircraft are not the only thing though, there are four…

That is bad news. Fly!2 was still the only GA sim competing with MSFS, a competition that was healthy to innovation and quality. Now no more :-( Fly!2 seems to be folding up. Read about it here:http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID14

I have just uploaded Seattle 2002 and SanFran 2002 to the FU3 file library, and consequently all of my other packages will be deleted shortly. It was my first experience with the new upload system, and it was very easy to use. The only aspect that made me hesitate slightly was the apparent fact that I don't have to upload a text file to go with each package !Best Wishes,Chris Low,ENGLAND.

I downloaded Robert's flt3.cfg from the library and tried it out. On my first try the sim froze at start-up and I had to do a hard reboot. Then I edited out anything "specular" and it worked. What does it take to run the "specular" settings? I've got a Voodoo 5 5500 video card and Robert has some other 3D card. I'm curious to learn whether anyone else has tried this configuration file and specifically, what will work with my Voodoo 5.best regards,Hans Petter
