The Flight Unlimited Series

As much as I enjoy the new Archer by Steve I stumbled across a peculiar problem:I've been flying it a lot in default sunny weather and I think that I've tried some clouds and wind shear as well. An hour ago I fired up FU3 and loaded it at Coupeville Nolf with one of Naji's rainy weather files. As the flight loaded the screen just froze and I couldn't start the engine, pan around or even exit. I had to go "cntl - alt - del" a couple of times. After rebooting I tried again, with another Naji rain file. Same result. After another hard reboot I tried the Archer in sunny weather and a Cessna with the rain files. Both worked.Now, these rain files really tax my CPU and it might …

Hi,Have used Steve's newest Archer 3 with is brilliant, however after flying for a short time I noticed the left fuel tank level was droping and the right tank remained full, is there a left/right fuel tank selector switch somewhere that I haven't found?ThanksPeter.

Have you ever seen the ai planes flying under briges ?I've noticed 2 passes lately. One under the Bay Brigde and 1 under the Dunbarton Brigde. The plane descend to low altitude and turn to the brigde.1. Alcatraz2. BB3. DBB.Adamski

The is version 1.5 of the Cessna 182 for Flight Unlimited 3. This version has numerous fixes to the graphics and instruments. Enjoy!

I bought this card and I'd like to ask about settings/ drivers to get best results.I haven't noticed significant improvement in fpm and my conclusion is that graphic card has not much work to do in FU 3.I can play FU I & FU III, but FU II doesn't run after I click 'fly'. Any suggestions ?B. Adamski

I got a new hard drive yesterday and am back in bussiness. Would someone help me with a starter switch. I am using piper_rd_v2.res to make the new Arrow cockpit. It has a starter switch, and says 5 positions in cockpit designer, but only works in the on and start postions. If someone could get it to work in the off, L, and R postions. Thanks!

will these work in FU2&3? Mine act crazy. A posting below mentions entering some lines concerning joysticks, but doesn't say where..JamesJ

I tried the; joystick setupjoy_device 2throttle_device 2 3rudder_device 1 3toe_brakes_device 1 1 2in FU2 but it didn't quite work. It DID do something though since my pedals started controlling the throttle and the toe brakes seemed to effect pitch trim up. This indicates that it might work if I switch some of the control axes numbers. Has anyone got pedals working with FU2?best regards,Hans Petter

Hiya all, Regarding Steve's Cessna 182, when sitting at the airfield and engine off, or running at takeoff power on standard days, I cannot get the Manifold Pressure to read past the green, far below the 30" it should be reading (either at rest or generating full power).Is there a fix for this?Dan

Hi Steve,I just wanted to let you know how much i appreciate the new plane! Your Archer flies great and the panel is very realistic looking. I didn't have much time this morning to fly but I did take her for a spin around SeaTac. She handles very well. Trims out very nicely. I know there will be a lot of guys posting their thanks. A strange thing happened, and I have not been able to correct it back!. Starting from any airport (with all lines markings OK) if I use SHIFT+P (repeatedly) to see other traffic elsewhere, I noticed that taxyway lines at other airfields disappear. This didn't happened before!. Perhaps it has to do with DC-3 Fix, or No DOME Patch addition?.Has this happened to somebody else?. Is there a way to fix it?.Thanks in advance for any help.

... well the Arrow/Archer project gave me the fix for the Beaver. I have a few little other thing I want to fix and you'll see it soon in the library. Steve

Hi all. I just downloaded the Archer (excellent plane!).About the callsign...how exactly did you make ATC say "Archer"? From what I understand, it was created in a wave editor by editing what is already in the ATC files, to make it sound like Archer. Correct me if I'm wrong.I'm sure most of you have noticed that when you're flying with some planes (the ones inherited from FU2), the tower controller (I think...was a while since I played FU3), uses a different voice when saying the callsign, than he does at all other times.If the Archer callsign was made by editing, would it then be possible, using the same technique, to correct the "multiple voices" problem, so the control…

Gentlemen:Please help an old friend figure out how to use cockpit designer to edit that horizontal line caused by the Geforce cards. I've recently replaced my Voodoo 5 card with the Geforce3 TI 500 and the results are phenomenal. I'm using the geforce tweaker and a new motherboard and faster chip (Asus A7V333 and Athlon XP 2100). FU is so smooth and beautifull that I wanted to share my enthusiasm. But there's an annoying line (bleed through) on my cockpits.I read a post, but could not figure out what to do with the Cockpit designer. I'd like to thank all the guys who pointed me in the right direction:Jon, Tom, Chris, Staggerwing, Jim, Ray, Naji, and Stearman. I used all the suggestions given and the installation including San Fran went off without a hitch. I'm getting very good frame reates. Sim seems smooth. I must say I really like this sim. It is pretty intuitive and easy to operate. Overall, I'm impressed with what this sim offered to the flight sim community several years before FS2K2.I do have a question or two:1- ATC keeps telling me to "maintain 5000 ft so I go to 5000 ft... before I can get there ATC says watch your altitude maintain 1000 ft... so i go to 1000 ft... up and down up and …

Thanks to some help, the Archer will will have correct callsigns when finished. Never beening one to stay idle, I realized that the Arrow is only a few thousand pixels different from the Archer. A gear handle here and a pitch lever, change this and that a little and BINGO!
