Guys,I think it's time to post some pictures on the Screenshots Forum. I've just been having a "debate" with several "pitiful creatures" :-lol on the GENERAL CHAT Forum who don't seem to be aware of just how good looking Flight Unlimited 3 actually is.I think that it is our duty to put the record straight. I will be posting some screenshots this weekend, and it would be nice if we could get a "screenshot armada" together. :-)Best Wishes,Chris Low,ENGLAND.

The program REMAP can be used to convert textures from Seattle to San Fran (or vice versa), provided you have the original GIF file and know how to use MAKEMIP:1) convert the GIF to a MIP: (from DOS), makemip .GIF ./2) load REMAP. Select the region FIRST (as it recalculates palettes as it loads).3) load your .GIF file4) generate the MIP file (the other button on the front screen of REMAP!5) Exit from REMAP. Move both the new MIP and the old BIN file (the BIN file has the model information) to regionssanfrangen6) Start FLED, open a package. Check that the model is OK by selecting it in the Objects - Place Models menu.7) If FLED freezes, don't p…

Did you ever get around to downloading Markus' GeeBee alpha? The textures are aweful, but its flyable. Quite fun to fly. Its paint job just isn't ready to win any trophies yet.Jim B.I have been flying this Markus prototype for over a month now, and what a delightful little aircraft it is. Is any progress being made to finish this cute little bird ?Jimbo

Hi. I have changed my screen name many times, so you probably dont remember me. I left FU3 for FS2k2 for a while. The flying got boring after a while (though i have to admit, the flight caricteristcs of fs2k2 are more realsitic.) I also just got back from another flying lesson. Just saying hi again and I am happy to be back in the FU3 world!-Tom Z

Hi Guys!I am at my niece's house... about 10 miles South of the Roy "Y" and about a 1/2 mile West of Highway 7.We had a good trip up here... got a early start on the 1st day so we got through that initial 900 miles "fairly" painlessly.Yesturday I got some good pictures of the Tacoma Dome, St Joe's hospital (place of my birth) and the microwave antenna on "Strawberry Hill". I need to talk to Allan & Chris about getting some of this added to the Tacoma Scenery.... Allan I will try to get some pics of Mt Tahoma HS tomorrow.Today we went up the the Ballard Locks and then the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field. Good stuff :)We I am supposed to be at a BBQ... guess I better j…

Hi Folks,I started resviewer 1.32, loaded an aircraft, went to 3d models and all I get is this image. I doubt its resviewer 'cause I redownloaded it and the upgrade and it does the same thing. So figure it must be a video driver glitch? I use a homebuilt pc. 750 amd, v5500 pci, dx8a, win98se. I hadn't used Resviewer in a long while, so am not able to "backtrace" any changes (like uninstalls, deletes) to my pc. Hoping you guys already know a fix. This is happening on any aircraft I open in the plnpile and go to its 3d model. The next shot is of Robert_D's Tucson Control Tower. Marvelous when compared to a photo of the real thing!

Well, it's almost ready. I've sent the resfile to Ansgar for checking so hopefully, early next week it will be available on Avsim. This update encompasses callsign, cockpit, flight model, ATC, engine sound and texture upgrades. Although released in VH-ABR livery, you can still add you favourite civilian texture :-)Here's a screenshot. Jon Point*************************([email protected])*************************

Friends,Does anyone know what lines control and create the cirrus clouds in the CFG files? I have the both the Seattle and San Fran areas installed, but I can generate cirrus clouds (properly at Sky Detail Level 2) in only San Francisco area. I have fiddled the weather some... with Laurie Doering's files so maybe I messed something up.Trouble is... If so... I don't know what...If any one knows what lines control cirrus in San Fran... I will write them in the Seattle Region cfg. Thanks from Indiana,Steve

I have now started experimenting with the Mooney TLS Bravo (sorry Tom, the Baron will remain in the hangar for the next couple of months at least), and I have noticed two aspects immediately.Firstly, I can put the aircraft into a shallow turn........and then let go of the joystick. It will remain at the same attitude throughout the turn. This certainly was not the case with the Baron.Secondly, those brakes are incredibly powerful. Is this a feature of the real aircraft ?I have just done a few quick circuits of Flying B Ranch, simply to get a feel of the aircraft. To be honest, it took me five attempts to become familiar with the glide speed and handling characteristics be…

FWIW------ I have used all three versions of the FU series and enjoyed them. I havn't attempted to load it on this CPU because I'm not even sure if it's compatible. But I have plenty of HD space and I should try. I am a fan of FS2002 which is rather well known, and have "played" around with FLYII. As to FLYII, my use has been very little. But I did take the following screenshot over mountainous terrain just west of the Los Angeles area. It's based on a 3rd party FLYII scenery using satellite images as does FUII/III. I personally find it quite stunning considering it's resolution is also maxxed at 1024*768. At lower level altitudes I'd have to say that both FS2002 & FU…

  19. Hello ! i was bored with Fs2002 so i've instaled FU3 + San Francisco Area - sim is working great ( 30 fps ) with AA on :-) But i cannot get rudder ( racing wheel with pedals ) and joystick ( Logitech Wingman Extreme 3d usb ) to work toghether. Joy is connected to USB and rudder to gameport ( SB Audigy card ) I'm using Win XP pro. I've searched avsim forums for the solution of problem. I've found this 3 "magic" lines and i've modified them to my specs :; joystick setupjoy_device 1throttle_device 1 3rudder_device 2 3in this configuration all joykeys.cfg and airlerons , pitch and throttle are working fine but i cannot get rudder working. I also only use one axis from gamepor…

A few more shots of my "Big Red" livery project. I've solved a few issues but not all. I've got to find out where that red "nose" is coming from -- the nose cone is supposed to be white with the red tapering down along the sides. It looks fine in ResViewer but something is happening as I launch the aircraft in the sim. There are a few limitations that we'll have to live with and they're all a result of the mirroring of textures. 1) The number on the vertical tail has been reduced in size. The real "Big Red" has a big number all across each side of the tail but this makes part of the number mirror to the opposite side in FU3. I've dodged this problem by scaling it down and …

I'm attaching a scanned map of England divided in megatiles. The megatiles with the green mark are the already completed tiles (complete with lower res levels, and basic airports); the tiles with a red dot are the tiles wor which I already have (or will have soon) the raw data, so they will be completed in the next weeks (or maybe longer as now I'm going on holiday, and then I will have university... so I may slow down, but I won't stop).I'll try to keep this updated... Oh, this map only reflects my personal work, I haven't included the megatiles already done by other people.Cristian

Hello FU3 experts.Anyone else heard of a a new controller in the "Bay area"??I have been fiddling around with several Outer terr. airports, and this had a strange effect of the SF.area.A flight from HAF or any other here would take up to 5 min. to load.Changing the new airports back was good---seemed to.Then I made a "commuter flight" HAF-SAC. IFR flight of course to check it out."Betty" was there at Bay approach and gave me the directions/alt. for SAC. Then suddenly something "NEW" happend. She turned me over to "Oakland" freq.128.8 for further orders.Well- I did so, and this controller gave me/and others the ILS headingand ALT. for our destinations.Anyone else experience…

I haven't really done any flying in bad weather, simply because of the framerate issues (yes, even a 1.2Ghz Athlon with a 64Mb GeForce 3 and 512Mb RAM struggles at maximum detail, 1024 by 768 resolution, and 4xS anti-aliasing). However, I have just been initialising startup positions with a variety of weather effects, and I have noticed a very annoying problem. Why is it that some clouds appear that are almost completely black ? They look ridiculous with a completely overcast GREY sky in the background. Is this a graphics card problem, or does everyone suffer from this ?More importantly, IS THERE A SOLUTION ?!!!Chris Low,ENGLAND.
