Hello all,It's been a loooong time since I was last here, mostly been doing the real thing. However... winter's coming with bad weather and darkness, and I'm only cleared for VFR and daylight flights so far. As old as FU3 is, it's still way ahead of the competition in terms of imersion of flight, and it's that feeling I want, plus daring some bad weather I'd never venture into in real life.Now... my FU3 needs a fresh install. What do I need to get up to date? _/Bjorn.

Mike Magatagan's FU2 airport documents file states that the runway at Maine Prairie is 1950 feet long and 50 feet wide. However, it is pretty obvious that the airstrip in FU3 is considerably larger than this. It must be at least 100 feet wide, and maybe 3000 feet long. What are the correct dimensions for this runway ?Chris Low,ENGLAND.

With all the excellent work being done by model makers, etc, is there any interest in having an F-16 to tool around in?There are many excellent models and cockpits that might be used, and I'm very familiar with the flight model and performance parameters of the Block 50/52 F-16C and F-16CJ...and I'd LOVE to beta test for it!Just asking, and volunteering what little I can for such a venture.Dan

Hi, I have completed processing the data I have. I have now 24 new megatiles. As you can see on the screenshot though, the NE corner is missing. That is a problem with the raw data we can get, the images are just missing. The scenery "ends" roughly 20 Km NE of Southend-on-Sea. I have "smoothed" the end, so it's not too ugly to look at. Anyway, it's a big addition, now you can't see the end of the scenery up to the horizon both to the South and to the East.If I won't find some other way of getting new data (new volunteers), I think I'll burn all these new tiles on my first "addon" CD...Cheers,Cristian

Can FS2002 aircraft models be converted for use in FU3 ? I have a nice model of the Bae Jetstream 41 for FS2002, and I was wondering if this could be modified to run in FU3. If this is a possibility, then I could e-mail the designer and ask his permission. What do you think ? Is this actually possible ? I don't know how many polygons this plane is constructed from, but it's probably more than the 2000 limit. Still, there are plenty of talented people on this forum who could probably sort that out :-)Chris Low,ENGLAND.

I have only recently noticed that adding AI planes to some of the small airfields in the San Francisco scenery area (in my SANFRAN 2002 pack) has caused problems with the TRAFFIC ADVISORY and IFR DESTINATION lists. Since this is annoying, I have removed the AI planes from these airfields (with the exception of Spezia and Scotts Valley, since extensive testing revealed that I could keep these two). The update package has recently been uploaded to the FU3 file library, and will solve the problems mentioned above.Chris Low,ENGLAND.PS. Maybe DLM could repost his response, so that we can see what he REALLY had to say :-lol

Well I am finaly settled into my new house and ready to get back to the FU3 fun, although I don't have as much time as I used too. My work is much further away and there is as much work to do to a new home as a older one. I am glad to say that I now have a new e-mail address [email protected] meaning that I don't have dail up anymore. I am starting back to work on the Baron panel a hope to have it ready in a few weeks.

Folks,Here's a few OT shots of around Clare's Valley. I have also posted some 'weather' shots in the screenshots forum which have attracted a couple of comments - thought you may like to see them (forums 11408 & 11443).Meanwhile, here's the OT shots:Over the valley, heading SE towards The Dalles. Had a funny experience this morning. Left home on foot as usual. 20-30K SE winds - unusually warm. Strange, no AI Beavers this morning - probably blown off-course! Looked up at the sky and saw a strange cloud effect. A large cloud was 'tearing' in two and the gap in the middle was breaking-up in chunks. It kind of looked like...Then I gazed south and saw some distinctive banding. Sorta looked like...I then turned my attention west to see the haze blotting out the cloud details. Reminded me of...OK, enough's enough. Either:1. The 'Man upstairs' has switched to an Nvidia card ( and prefers FSAA).2. The sky banding and other anti-aliasing nasties are actually accurately-mode…

My anti-virus has just blocked the 'Win32.BugBear.a' virus,(its another e-mail type virus which sends out random messages froma spoof address), I'm hoping that the anti-virus blocked it BEFORE it got a chance to send itself onwards, so please take care and if you get an e-mail from me you're not expecting, please delete it straight away. I've found a FREE removal tool here if anyone does have it :-)http://www.ravantivirus.com/pages/showtool.php?p=15764Kb download.(If it was anything important, I'll get back to you):-wavePete

Hello,I'm not asking this question for myself, but for another guy. I should have sent him here really but I didn't think of that at that time. So, the question is:Is there any way to get FU3 running under ME? Is there some patch or anything to get it to work?As soon as I know, I will point this post out to that guy.Regards,David Vuorio

I have only recently noticed that adding AI planes to some of the small airfields in the Seattle scenery area (in my SEATTLE 2002 pack) has caused problems with the TRAFFIC ADVISORY and IFR DESTINATION lists. However, after extensive testing I have found a solution that enables all three airfields (Diamond Point, Apex Airpark and Coupeville NOLF) to keep their UNICOM status.I have just uploaded the update file to the FU3 file library.Best Wishes,Chris Low,ENGLAND.

Hi Folks!I've just uploaded some new models for FU3, to further extend your creative capabilities :-)I've also uploaded an OT scenery package with two airports. This place is where I test my FU3 models and try different effects.Oh yeah - I also uploaded some screenshots in the screenshots forum too! It seems a few people's minds needed jogging as to how good this sim is :-hahFollowing are some screenshots of one of the airports in the package. Please remember, this IS OT :-eekThere's lots of potential left in 'er yet :-beerchugJon Point*************************([email protected])*************************

I am still having problems with traffic advisories. In short, half of them are missing ! Can anyone here tell me if every airfield is supposed to be included in the list, or only the UNICOM and tower controlled airports ? If the latter is correct, then the following are still missing from my list:-Borges-ClarksburgByronConcord-BuchananDavis Woodland WintersSonoma SkyparkSonoma ValleyAlso, when I change the AIRPORT NAME of Travis Aero Club in FLED from "Travis" to "123.650" (the UNICOM frequency), then University also disappears from the list !Help ?!!Chris Low,ENGLAND.

Hey folks, I have had F/U 3 on my system for quite some time. My system crashed at one point and I had to use the system restore CD to start all over. I tried to re-install F/U 3 and it began to install, told me I didn't have enough memory (which is bunk) and then froze up. I had to manually eject the disk and tried to start again, but now when I put the install CD in, it comes up with menue choices play, uninstall etc..no matter which icon I click on, it does nothing. I have also tried it in the DVD drive and same thing. I am running Win ME (BIG MISTAKE) AMD 1.2 GHz, 256 SD RAM, 60 Gig hard drive with plenty of space. I have checked the windows folder and made sure the …

I was just reinstalling the FU3 and the San Francisco region, and it was currently copying FU2 CD2 to the drive, when I heard a quiet *snap* from the CD-ROM drive. When it finished copying the files and I ejected the disc, it had several big cracks going from the center of the disc and extending outwards. The disc also felt "soft" around the edges of the inner hole, and kind of bendable. I decided to try and copy the contents to the harddrive, and then make a backup copy (I have a CD-Writer).So I copied the disc to a temp. folder, praying that the disc wouldn't disintegrate inside the CD-Reader. I have read horror stories on the internet of people's CD discs disintegratin…

I've been playing almsot only FS2002 lately (as well as lots of Mafia - awesome game!).Please post some of your best FU3 shots, to convince me to keep FU3 on my harddrive and start playing it again. The best would be if you post the pics in the "AVSim Screenshot Forum". It's not only for FS2002! It's getting saturated with shots of airliners and boring FS2002 generic scenery :(Then you can post the link to the post in this forum.

Remember the Janes Attack Squadron sim? Xiact bought it and "finished" it I guess. Well, seems Xicat is pulling the guns out at releasing this:http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/prod...sp?pf_id=229095Now, somehow, I thought Flight Unlimited fits in here somewhere. Wasn't Looking Glass working on a combat sim? Was Attack Squadron it? I guess whatever it is Xicat is doing would be considered Flight Unlimited cousin, twice removed... ;)Pieter

Hi, While doing other new tiles, I realized that a big part of scenery East of London is missing. I mean, the images aren't available at all, so I can't do that part. The photos just "end" abruptly, see screenshot. I may leave it as in the screenshot (the water begins exactly where the land ends) or I can try to add a strip of beach. But I can't guarantee the results in this case, as I'm not good at hand-painting (or editing). What do you want me to do?Cristian
