I've had FUIII for a while but have not added new aircraft. I downloaded Baron XP from AVSIM but the readme does not have install instructions. I can right click on the files and in properties it looks like it gives me the path in which the files go - though for some I don't find the listed folder in my program. Am I on the right track as for as process? Do you drag and drop to the correct folder as in MSFS98 etc or is there an installation tool - I don'tfind an exe file etc. Thanks, ken

Anyone know of one? I'd like something along the lines of the map included with FU2. Any suggestions besides buying a sectional? :)Pieter

Hi to all DC3 fiends! I just got the green light from Ansgar so I've just uploaded the latest DC3 revision with lots of little changes. All bug fixes are included, new textures, new 'hi-fi' engine sounds, new cockpit (well, nicer!) plus some other small refinements. Freeware, of course! Please read the enclosed text files for a full list of credits. Please enjoy flying it as much as I enjoyed playing with it! Here's some screenshots while you're downloading!Jon Point*************************([email protected])*************************

or any near mishaps in the air, given that the larger airports in FU3 can get quite busy....CheersShelton.

Well, I must admit that I surprised myself. I set up Ansgar's superb 747 for take off on runway 12 at Half Moon Bay, set the flaps to maximum (more about that in a minute), and increased the power. The plane rolled down the runway very impressively (by that I mean believably), and lifted off the tarmac at a comfortable distance. I kept the landing gear down for test purposes, and put the plane into a gentle right turn.** Just a quick note here. I noticed an arrow at the top right hand edge of the screen at times. Does this appear if the bank angle is too great ? **I completed the turn and flew the plane right downwind at around 1300 feet, and then turned again for a final…

As I upgraded my OS to Win 2000 I found myself looking for drivers. I found one that works with my Voodoo 5 5500 but I'm wondering if there's a better one. 3dfx didn't exist anymore when Win 2000 was out so we're talking third party / hackware. Which driver did the Win 2000 guys among you settle for?best regards,Hans Petter

Guys,I'm on my new system now. Good news is that I managed to get onto the net. But that is all I have managed so far. I might be scarce for a few days while I am getting things setup. XP is... ahhh... Different. :)

I have just been reading an old review of Flight Unlimited 3 on the internet. The reviewer's conclusion at the time (2000 January 24) was that FU3 was an average flight simulator, but not the great leap forward in technology that FU2 was. The overall score was given as 77 per cent. This may surprise you, but I agreed with a lot of the comments in the review. When I look back to how FU3 was in the days of the Pentium II, with its jerky framerates and texture shimmering, I have to agree that the graphics could have been even better. I have always said (and still do) that the San Francisco scenery in FU2 is actually higher quality than the Seattle scenery in FU3. There is mor…

The first is London's Tower Bridge - my first attempt at modelling it anyway. The second is the balloon floating over McChord AAF.But numbers three and four are special - they are of Sky Harbour - returning home after a hard evening's flying! And is the cloud smiling over this? No special modelling, texturing or anything, just FU3 doing what it does best.

Can anyone help me with installing the Phoenix Simulations 747 cockpit views ? I have added all of the views, but I still need to edit the rectangles. I am not sure what to do here, so I would be grateful to receive any help from an expert.Chris Low,ENGLAND.

Hi everyone,Here is an update on Flight Df/x Version 0.4The release date was pushed to the end of the month because we decided to add more media to the Flight DF/x.Aside from the Pilot Logbook, we've improved the images of the included airports.Based on your suggestions, the Beechjet has been replaced with the Piper(multi aircraft won't we available until at least v0.7)Aircraft crashes are now handled better. Ambulance is automatically dispatched when they occur. In v0.4 you won't be charged for a replacement aircraft since the BANK won't we operational to lend you any money for a new one. Also you will be able to buy fuel even if you balance goes below zero for the same re…

I am trialling a new method of adding textures to airports. Its not completely worked out yet. I am posting a few pictures to give you some sort of idea of what is possible. The first two pictures show the old SEATAC airport, more or less as delivered by Looking Glass. The remaining pictures have added taxiway, concrete and line textures, blended in so that the transition from default to added should not be visible. I.e., no straight lines, grass where its supposed to be, etc.I have only done the Control Tower side (i.e. the eastern side of the airport. I am still working out ideas.Shot 8 shows me on perfect approach to the taxiway. Oops.A couple of shots show the detail ar…

Here is a bunch of screenshots from two failed attempts to complete a Beechjet flight between Scotts Valley and Marin County. However, I now understand why I was having problems with the thrust reversers. When I think about it, the situation makes perfect sense. In short, the keyboard controls for this only seemed to work when they felt like it, but I have just realised that the "buckets" can't be stowed until the thrust has been reduced. I was trying to unlock them before reducing the thrust, and it obviously didn't work (due to it not being a good idea to be at full power when doing so) :-)The two failed landings were different. The thrust reversers failed to deploy pro…

More screenshots from progress on UK scenery.....It *really* is detailed. I was able to take off from Luton and find the road that I use to drive home on and follow it all the way to my house. The first shot is the A6 north out of Luton. For any locals (?) this is the dual-carriageway Barton cutting. The next shot is taken from sightseing around London, with the Millenium dome in my sights.

I am still amazed that anyone could stop the 747 at Bonny Doon Village before the runway ends. Having tested the Beechjet extensively recently, I can say with complete confidence that I have absolutely no chance whatsoever of stopping this aircraft within 2500 feet using the thrust reversers and toe brakes. I need to use the awesomely powerful parking brake :-) to enable this.Chris Low,ENGLAND.
-
I am having a problem with the toe brakes. The statement in the joykeys.cfg file that allows both brakes to be activated at the same time..........is actually activating one brake slightly before the other. This results in the aircraft pitching slightly in the direction of the first activated brake after touchdown. Is there a solution for this ? It's very annoying :-fumeChris Low,ENGLAND.

I've been absent for a while now. Except for being busy the main reason is my new computer and my new OS. I got a 1.2 Ghz processor and a new motherboard as my old mobo quit performing. The more controversial thing is my upgrade to Win 2000. Time will show whether it was a good or a bad idea. The capacity of my primary disk is 80 GB and my old 30 GB disk has been added as a slave. This is the story: My local computer geek strongly recommended an upgrade to Win 2000 since he claimed it was more stable and would utilize all of my RAM. He shuns Win ME and doesn't like XP, the latter being due to the fact that one has to ask for uncle Bill's approval whenever major changes in …
