Hi all FU3 speedheads ;)As the GeeBee is getting closer, I wanted to finish my racing package and upload it before Christmas so I need some help and suggestions. What I have so far:~ Pylons (2 different kinds)~ A small grandstand~ A talking large windsock (it actually keys the 'crowd' soundfile!)~ 3 x GeeBee R2 models (one red&white flying, one red&white tail-down, one yellow& black flying)~Various soundfiles for the aircraft and the race commentator (!)Someone suggested Arlington as a suitable venue but I need some guidance here - maybe an airport diagram with suggested positions for the pylons and grandstand(s) - I've never been to the races at AWO!My intent…

Is there any way of turning off the grey info bar at the bottom of the in-cockpit views by default. Each time I toggle between the F2 and F3 views it re-appears so I have to press F12 to remove it.

Hi guys,my FuIII seattle region won't load, I can get sanfran to load ok,but with seattle I get 'crash to desktop'.The last thing I was doing was adding some more 3d models to fled packages, so I removed all my packages,but still no go.(and fled won't run now either..get an illegal operation message).any ideas before I go for a re-install?:-wavePete

Hi All,Is it possible (and easy) to convert any other flight sim planes for use with FU3?Of course, I mean entirely with the original authors permission and credits attached.I was looking at some FS2002 planes and some of these seem to have been created using similar tools to those Ansgar was telling me are used for creating FU3 planes.Rob.

I have uploaded a new scenery package, for Heathrow Int Airport west of London in the UK. The package is distributed in three parts to assist those who don't like long downloads.The package covers the airport area only, and adds several new buildings. New models specifically for Heathrow have names prefixed with "htr", but generic new models (such as avgas tanks and sound guards) don't.I hope this package serves to encourage the FU3 community to think seriously about getting the amazing UK-South region onto their systems! I have completed filling the gap (see screenshot). Now the region is in one huge, seamless hi-res area.Now I'll try to reach Bristol and Bath. I don't know if I'll succeed though, it depends on how good is the raw data I have...Cristian

Can someone tell me what the ATC controller is saying when AI plane pilots are "ready to copy IFR to........". It sounds like "den-es-mild", which sounds complete **** **** to me. Is this some kind of radar terminology, or am I hearing it all wrong ?This has bugged me for YEARS !Chris Low,ENGLAND.

This sim is Flight Unlimited with guns, rockets and bombs. Like FU3 it is amazing in that it's simplicity is what makes it fun and realistic at the same time. These are Viet Nam era aircraft and not very advanced avionics. The Graphics are the best by far, even with my old trusty Voodoo 4500. It also plays very well at 1020 x 768 on my Celeron 900. While all the gauges and indicators work, there are no working switches. That's OK because it gives you time to look around using your mouse to control head movement. You can also zoom in and out to get a better view of you instruments. It's all very fluid giving you the effect of leaning to get that better look. ATC control is…

My recent Beechjet flight from Renton Municipal to Olympia highlighted a small problem. I was given permission on take off to "turn left, southbound approved". I was then asked to contact the tower at Boeing Field, which I did. The controller told me to fly through his airspace at 1500 feet, so I did.Then.............nothing. I kept on flying, but I never received any more information. I was expecting to be told something like "Beechjet niner lima golf, you're clear of my airspace, frequency change approved", or "contact Seattle approach on 119.20".I tried the same flight several times, and the result was the same each time. I have started working to fill the gap between the two parts of the UK region... I've done 14 new megatiles. Now the two part are connected, one can fly from Stansted to Scilly without ever leaving hi-res terrain! :)What do you think? ;-)Cristian

DirectX 9.0 is out. Is there any risk it won't work with my Voodoo 5 5500 video card? It may not improve anything with an old card but what I fear the most is that it may freeze and / or be hard to "roll back" in Win2000 if doesn't work.Hans Petter

Hi AllI have had FU2 for years but frustratingly never got it working.It works fine but the image freezes and locks randomly (usually after 30mins to 1 hour in flight) requiring a hard boot.I run FU3 fine.My machine is P3 650 with GEforce 256 and SB live card 128Mb.All drivers are latest with DX ver 8.1 and latest creative and nvidia drivers being tried.I could do with the solution or, if anyone knows, the answer!!Can you import the FU2 challenges and aircraft into FU3??Rob
