This is really annoying. After few years of frequent flying (i'll never get bored) i've never got more than 18 take-offs or landings, and not more than 6 crashes. Has anybody a idea, what is this all about?miiropii :-hmmm still far from home @-@

Ansgar, you've done it again (significantly improved our much loved sim) :-) :-) :-)I installed your models.res file and....I spent the next two hours, switching between AIs as they came and went over SEA. When I first saw the 737 I just couldn't believe it! Now I want to steal the model and build an aircraft out of it! They're all great - every now and then an original FU3 AI came along - what a horror ;) I now have a beautiful desktop screen of the Delta MD, climbing into the sunrise over Seattle - another aircraft I'd like to convert too!Of course, the callsigns require addressing but I'd be glad to help here. If, for example, you have replaced 'Ignited Airlines' with …

First I would like to thank Hans Petter for doing a paint of my Baron for FU.I thought I would provide some information about "Big Red" so that those of you that might use it will know the real aircraft. My Baron is a 1965 B55 model. The name Big Red was given it by a friend who is also a flight simmer when I gave him his first ride in the airplane. He mentioned it on avsim when he wrote about his ride and now that is what everybody calls it. I have owned the aircraft since May of 1998 and purchased it in Las Vegas, NV. The previous owner had the airplane ferried to Germany in 1989 and it remained there for approximately two years before returning to the US.The aircraft is…

With Ansgar's new Baron and my previous take on Ed Weber's real one we deserve a better "Big Red". I've been working on adapting my textures to the new model for some time and today I spent several hours on this little project. Please ignore rows of white rivets and blotchy gray spots--all of this will be fixed later. The palette I'm using is a preliminary one and once it's all finished we'll see a better one.best regards,Hans Petter

I have finished today editing the various final files. Now I'll look again into everything, to see if I left something out... But I think tonight I'll burn it. If I keep on waiting and on adding tiny bits and modifications, it will never see the light... so, I better pack it up now and leave new modifications for future update discs!New in this disc are: A huge new hi-res area, finally connecting the East and West parts; a completely redone elevation model (now finally without pits/pyramids, and with better hills); the Heathrow airport; the Needles package; a corrected classification in a lot of places (to fix the "wet runways" problem); a basic collection of navaids and …

I recently installed the full Swiss scenery but have a problem with Basle and Geneva. The scenery installed perfectly but whilst the airfields appear on the map ok I cannot see them when I load the simulator. At the same time I get a dialogue box in the centre of the screen which says "Please insert the" - if I then revert to Seattle or San Fran this box reads "Please insert the FU3 scenery disk 1". Putting this disk in has no effect.Grateful for any help on where I might be going wrong. Many thanks

I was in BestBuy about an hour ago and noticed that there is a $20 mail in rebate on both FS2k2 (never understood the two level thing) products AND the prices had been reduced to $40 and $50. That means about $20 and $30 after the rebate. This seems kinda soon considering the new patch (sorry, Version) won't be out until July (I'll believe it when I see it). Could the rumors of an FU4 in the Spring have some merrit? Hmmm?-hoo

I recently discovered that I had (accidentally) deleted my archived FU files when I was cleaning up my drive. I've replaced most of my cherished FU files, but I'm I can't locate Mike Magatagan's FU2 approach plate and airport docs, on Avsim or elsewhere. Does anyone know where they can be found? TIA,-hoo

What do you all think of this after reading the previews?I think they have really improved the visuals of the weather. However, I'm a bit worried about the other aspects of weather simulation like the way the air moves around mountains, turbulence etc. FS2002 was very lacking in this area. I just love how you can "feel" the wind in FU3. In FS2002 you get some random bumps at best. Will FU3 still remain the sim of choice for all of you or will you be moving to MS when the new sim comes out?

Okay folks, it is that time of year again... We have kicked off our spring fund drive. What's that you ask? Simple. An easy and convenient way to show your support of AVSIM and a means for you to contribute to keeping our doors open contributing to the expansion of our services (read the front page today about our latest server acquisition as an example).Providing growing bandwidth and expanding services to the flight simulation community is not cheap (as anyone who runs a web site of any size can tell you). Bandwidth is not cheap, and replacing machines to keep up with demand is expensive too (figure $3,500 to $4,000 each time we buy a server - these are not your normal …

I have finished adding the VOR roses (see attachments). The "small", zoomed out map is quite messy - you can see the VOR identifiers and frequencies, but the central area is "saturated". But if you zoom in, things become clearer... Anyway, this is the best I could do, and I think it's better than nothing. But I have a serious problem: when I try to import them in the resreg.res file, ResViewer gives me this error: "Error#1117: Bitmap dimensions must be multiple of 2". But the image dimensions and bitdepth are the same than the original images! I also tried exporting an image and then reimporting it at once, and I had the same error. So, it must be a ResViewer bug... How ca…

I was going to post an image and went through the usual procedure. The pop-up window said that the image uploaded OK but it didn't show as a text string in the attachment box. When previewing the post I confirmed that it didn't go through. (Or, maybe it did upload but failed to be connected to my post). What could be wrong? Is this part of the new login issues that affect users with active firewalls? I have accepted "page referral" to be able to log on and this post proves that it works. Has anyone else experienced that images upload without showing?best regards,Hans Petter

Dear All,When altering the F4 viewpoint (part @h31xxxx), please note that this same viewpoint is used for the F1, F2 and F3 views. So, if you set the viewpoint 6 inches off the ground, when you look out the window whilst taxiing, you'll be looking at AI wheels! So much for novel F4 views...The GeeBee F4 view has now been restored to normal ;)Jon Point*************************([email protected])*************************

An unobstructed F4 view. One like you have never seen in FU3! This one is slung UNDER the aircraft, just in front of the wires. It gives a great view for landing or takeoff (you can angle the view down to see more ground) and you can pan around as well to see what's happening around and below you :-)Good approach view. Please excuse the EXTREME speeds here - I was having too much fun :-) http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e4ae06e07317d24.jpgHi-speed touch 'n' go - watch the torque now...http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e4ae0bb080ba5cf.jpgSee where you've been!http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e4ae12c097f5a2b.jpgOr where you may want to go...http://ftp…
