I have posted a help request on the MSFS Forum regarding one or two aspects of FS2002, but I am not getting any responses at the present time. Therefore, I would like to know if any FS2002 users here can help me with these problems.1. How can I set up the cockpit views so that I can let go of the joystick hat switch ? For example, I would like to be able to look through the left cockpit window by clicking the joystick hat switch left, but I don't want it to flip back to the forward view when I let go !2. I would like to be able to set up an external view by simply pressing a SINGLE key, rather than cycling through several views. I also want to be able to pan around this v…

I'm just a bit worried by the rumour that I spend my whole sim time making objects and never get out of the hangar. So I am posting a few shots here to prove that I do fly. So there.Shot one: returning to park after another successful flightShot two: overflying London Bridge (photo from ground, but that's definitely ME flying the 172 into the bridge)Shot three: personal security guard for Renegade - now why would he be there if I didn't fly the thing? Huh?Shot four: liftoff on the biggest bird (you can see me in the 17th window from the back quite clearly, no not the guy in the front, the one behind him holding the airsickness bag)Shot five, six: gratuitous sunset shots. F…

I've uploaded all the beacons that I've placed at present to the file library. This should be a definitive list of all the VOR beacons within the UKS high-resolution region, let me know if you think I've missed one. At present there's only one NDB in place and Gatwick is the only airport with an ILS system (no marker beacons though). I'm planning on getting the NDBs done in a second upload but I don't think its worth adding too many ILS systems until there are some runway models to align them to.Have fun,Rich.

Hi,I was wondering if anyone has been able to get the PROP and MIXTURE controls working in FUIII?While I was able to get the rudder pedals and toe brakes working as well as the buttons on the yoke working I am not able to get the prop and mixture sliders working. The readme file for the FUIII patch does mention something about the slider option (device X 7 or 8) it doesn't seem to work.If anyone can help me on this I would be most appreciative........Thanxs

This wont compute for those of you not in the US... but... I'd like to wish everyone a very... HAPPYTHANKSGIVING!

Recently reinstalled it, the handling and weather system are just amazing! :-eek However, my CH Pro USB yoke's prop and mixture controls don't work, and the CH Rudders USB don't either. Is there a way to configure them? Thanks,

Hello all.For those who are still using the "3DFX-VOODOO" series graphic cards there is some new drivers available,- and they seems to be really good.New releases for both Win.95/98 and XP is still available.I just installed some new drivers to test it out for both FU3 and FS2002, - including older Racing sims from "UBISOFT" that was made specially for the 3DFX series.Using my VOODOO 5-win98SE, It turned out to run VERY smooth with 4 x aliasing enable and the texture was a lot better than the old originaldrivers.I'm one of those old fassion pilots that don't upgrade my system every 6 month, and rather stick to the old and good as long as I can to prevent unessecarry troubl…

Hi folks,As promised, I've uploaded the 'Alpha' release of the GeeBee R2 for FU3 :-) The F3 cockpit view still needs work but this version is being released so you may try it out and post your criticisms, accolades :-hah and/or questions to the Avsim forums for further development. All non-abusive comment are appreciated :-)Meanwhile, break out the airsickness tablets and look at the screenshots :-beerchugCruisin' near Forest Fallshttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3de2bf955b3d1cbb.jpgOut of Sequim on a misty dayhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3de2bfd35bd4b2ef.jpgNear Sequim after the fog cleared. Administrator, please change my email address from [email protected] to [email protected]'ve gone from a dial-up 28 modem directly to DSL and the improvement is quite noticeable. No more pay-per-minute -- no more busy phone.I just downloaded the GeeBee alpha. The 4.5 MB file took about 30 seconds to download :-)best regards,Hans Petter

Below are some shots of models being developed for Heathrow. These arestereoscopic - if you don't know what this means then just look at them normally, but if you can look through the pictures you should see a 3D effect. I have a few terminal buildings and the big radar done as well. But I can't put the package together yet as I don't have the terrain elevation detail.[Note to modellers: by the way, BSP has scaling switches for each direction independently - you don't have to just use the -s switch.]

Well, this one's going to make your heads spin. I have decided to reinstall FS2002, and give it another chance. The reason for this is mainly Visual Flight's photographic UK VFR scenery. This is likely to solve one of my big problems with MSFS (the generic textures), so I am going to attempt to resolve my other issues with FS2002 (lack of VFR cockpit, annoying spot view, flight models etc). I realised that, since I have only ever tried flying the small prop planes in FS2002, maybe I will feel more comfortable in a jet ! I have become used to the Beechjet in FU3 recently, and maybe I can find a nice business jet for FS2002 (the Dassault Falcon 50 apparently comes highly re…

I have noticed that some of the textures in the Seattle region still exhibit a slight shimmering problem. This appears to be mainly related to the urban textures, which I have always considered to be somewhat crude in the Seattle region. I suspect that the lower quality of these textures (compared to the rural textures in this region) is the cause of the problem. It is interesting to note that the San Francisco scenery does not suffer from this problem to any great extent, and this is just one reason why I greatly prefer to fly in this region. Other advantages of the SanFran region include a wider variety of terrain scattered across the map (as opposed to Seattle's large v…

I seem to remember someone saying something about a way to "raise" the ground at Coupeville NOLF, so that the runway was completely flat. I have just landed there in the Beechjet after a flight from Pierce County, and I let the plane roll to the end of the runway. This made me realise just how much of a slope there is at the southern section of this airfield. Can anyone help ?Chris Low,ENGLAND.

I hope it's OK that I post this here. I guess most of us play FS2002 a little and not only FU3.Check out this thread http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...orum=DCForumID8It looks like FU3! Looks great, anyone tried it? It's a true VFR scenery, not the generic "crap" that most MSFS sceneries use.

A small problem here. I think this appeared after installing Chris Low's Seattle 2002. Chris, any ideas?http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...75d7eddc462.jpgI'm sorry, I can't give you any coordinates right now, but it was somewhere close to Easton State. I'll get the exact location later.:-wave

I just wondered if there was a document on how to create new scenery areas for FU3? I see there are several 3rd party add-on sceneries for FU3 and wondered how they do it and what tools do I need to download to accomplish this? Please help, I'd really like to build some FU3 scenery.thanks

Thought folks here would be interested in a handy little tool called Meshscale. It adjusts the scale of your .E file's x,y,z co-ordinates.Made for Thief modeling, it works just fine with Flight Unlimited.http://www.3dactionplanet.com/thief/mmv/Take care, Jim B.

Well, I have recently completed successful Beechjet landings at Palo Alto, San Carlos, and Sonoma Valley. I also managed to slow the aircraft to taxi speed before the end of each runway (using reverse thrust and toe brakes only).......which would suggest that I can land this plane on runways of 2500 feet without using the parking brake. After all, that would be cheating :-coolI am also getting used to the annoying initial pull to the left when first applying the toe brakes, which is due to the left brake being applied fractionally earlier than the right brake. A small amount of right rudder compensates for this, although it feels like I need the arms of an octopus to hand…

Just for fun...When playing with flight models it's wise to make small changes, one at a time or amazing things happen. Here I was, sitting at NRA. Hit the starter, warm 'er up, call up to let 'em know I'm taxiing. So far, so good. Now, I'll just release the parking brake (the GeeBee doesn't need throttle to move away) and WHOOOOOAAAAAA...http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3dd96ff0556aa1da.jpgUp we go! Oh no, the engine's stopped from lack of air ;)http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3dd970205634dd0f.jpgAh, the Saturn V flight model works great huh? Sure beats crowded taxways. Just wish I could move FORWARDS :-hahJon Point*************************(effyouthree@hotm…
