Come on guys... getting kind of lonely with just Chris & me!

Could someone please tell me where I can get my hands on UK-South scenery? FU3 is an excellent sim but the limited scenery coverage is a bit of a pain. CHEERS!

Some of you may be getting tired of my Big Red posts by now since I've been working on this project for years now :-) However, with Ansgar's new Baron model I had to give it another go. The latest texture map enables me to paint every part of the aircraft with no compromises. However, I'm not saying it's easy. My livery gets complicated since several curves and transitions involve different parts of the texture map. To sort things out I elected to color code various segments. This enables me to spot exactly which part of the texture is responsible, as well as exactly where the transitions occur. Wherever a "top texture" runs into a "side texture", back texture" or front t…

I have just tried flying around in a couple of the small prop planes in FU3 (Mooney and Arrow), and I cannot believe how responsive they are compared to the Beechjet. It seems that getting used to the flight characteristics of the Beechjet has made me forget just how much heavier it feels when compared to these other planes. Even the Baron seems incredibly light and agile now. I also noticed that the Mooney has incredibly powerful brakes ! Are these realistic ?Chris Low.

I thought you may like a final preview of what's coming soon. I'm about a week from Beta release of the Dash8 (my apologies for the delay - Easter holidays, you know) and I've finally got the texturing 95% right (hey, nobody's perfect!) and managed to lose some 'holes' by 'fooling' BSP!?! None of this would've happened if it wasn't for all the help, support and encouragement I've had from you folks! I'm posting these shots so you can see where your advice got me :-) :-) :-)Lightshow! Taxiing onto the runway at SEA with one of Ansgar's beautiful 737's waiting patiently behind. Note the nosewheel light and extra taxi lights on the wings!http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/66…

I have just realised that the "Bremerton" sound group at Apex Airpark isn't working properly. Can anyone who has installed the Seattle 2003 pack confirm this ?Chris Low,ENGLAND.

I just downloaded from the avsim library a zip called 'ai_traffic_enhanced_100.zip'.The docs all refer to the sanfran and seattle regions, so I am assuming this cannot be used with the UK region. All UK AI I have added so far is in the form of packages, so is any of this addon compatible with the UK region ?ThanksChris E, ENGLANDhttp://www.circle-software.co.ukAvoid AGP texturing = Better Performance ;)

Is anybody using frequencys 120.7. This is the frequency used at Lydd Airport (currently under development). In "real life" they only use the one frequency for Tower / Approach / Ground. Is there any way I can set this up in FLED without it being a Unicom airport. I have tried entering the same frequency for all, but it doesn't like it.ThanksAndy

Flying from Paine Field to Boeing Field at 3000ft IAS 130knts it takes 5 minutes flying time before Seattle city buildings appear and 7 before Boeing Field pops up. In real life these would be in view sooner. Any way this can be configured ? I'm using XP 2.4GHz Pent4 with Radion 9000, all sim settings on max. Thanks all you guys for excellent add-ons .Echofox

Can any of you kind guys and gals point me in the right direction. I am new to FU3(had FU2 for a while), I am trying to find out how to get hold of UK-South scenery.Any help appreciated.

Is there anyway to make FU2/3 usable with USB controllers? Specifically, the mixture/prop pitch levers on the CH Flight Yoke and the CH Pro Pedals? I have a friend that is running WinXP and uses the CH USB products. He can control pitch and roll with his yoke, but his pedals don't work.I was wondering if there was sometype of controller tweak, or setting that people use to get it to work. Thanks for any help.Pieter

Hi all, It's been a while since I used FU & I was wondering if any knew if the 39? pakage limit had been broken? I see Chris Low is still hard at work & I wanted to modify some airports using FLED, but if the limit is still there, then I guess I won't.

Well, I have decided to purchase Windows XP. I have been using it at work for two or three months now, and I really like it. I just hope that my version of FU3 likes it !I will let you know what happens. This will involve a complete reformat of the hard disk, and then a clean install of Windows XP (I don't like all that upgrade BS). Fortunately, re-installing FU3 is pretty easy since I arranged all of my upgrades in separate folders on my backup zip disks. It's just a simple case of copying the files over to the hard disk. The one thing that I must remember is to remove several models and animated objects that come as standard with FU3. You know, objects like the truck an…

I have tried to run FU2 on on my newer Athlon XP1600 machine (256 Mb RAM & Sparkle GeForce2 Titanium video card) and I get a lockup when it is on the "population San Francisco Airspace" screen. All was ok on my old P2 machine. Anyone have any clues on what is causing it or whether there is a fix ?

I have just seen some interesting news regarding Concorde on teletext this morning. Apparently, the Transport Secretary is very keen to discuss the future of Concorde with Richard Branson, since he has offered to run the entire British Concorde fleet at a loss, simply for the prestige that the aircraft would bring to his Virgin Atlantic airline. Now, I know that some British guys here think that Concorde is a BA plane, and shouldn't be flown by any other British airline. However, I don't agree with that blinkered viewpoint. In my opinion, if there is ANY WAY that Concorde can be kept in commercial service, then I am in favour of it.What does everyone else think ? Careful..…

Built in the thirties, and still the largest hanger in the world created for the great dirigibles, Moffet Hanger Number 1 in Flight Unlimited may soon be the only place you can fly around this elaborate feat of construction. The toxic chemical PCB has been found in the hanger area in quantities enough to cause a "health concern," and one of the three options is to dismantle the hangar. The third option may cause it to become structurally unsound...leading to option one again. Considering all the political flak Moffet has come under since closing down, politicians may find this a good excuse to do a little "remodeling" of the area.Public outcry is expected to be loud, if …

Below are shots of a pleasant romp around the IOW from Southampton. Last time I flew here I didn't have all of the scenery installed - I can't believe the difference! I have now flown over this area several times. Many thanks to Lars, agtim and all the other developers of this area! :-rotor http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/5952.jpgTake off from Southamptonhttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/5953.jpgHope I packed my umbrellahttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/5954.jpgThe Needleshttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/5955.jpgThe IOW cliffshttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/5956.jpgAnd back home for breakfast.

Hello chaps,I have not posted in this forum for some time (but some of you may remember me). I have just installed the UK South region for FU3 after Glidernut so kindly supplied me with the CD's (thanks John!).My first impressions are positive. I like what I see, and am sure it is going to get even better. Well done developers!I have a few general questions though, not all specifically directed at the UK South region :-1. Anyone know what the exact bounds of the scenery are ? I flew due West from Silverstone on my first flight, and soon came across (after about half an hour) what appeared to be a 'cutoff' point where the photo textures ended. I assumed that the region cov…
